From the start menu select run. Type in "regedit" Browse to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete the entry which points to the registration executable.

I use two sound cards in my PC to achieve the same effect. A cheap card (or onboard) for teamspeak/ventrillo, and my Audigy 2 Pro for regular sound with 5.1 speakers. It works quite well even though it can be a little awkward to configure, especially if your headset begins picking up sound from your speakers.
