  1. Thanks, Yurgon and PS979. I liked the pieces of Elysium OST that used the throat singing motives the most, by the way.

I liked this part of the concerto the most

I spent another 30 minutes watching folk songs on YT and I've stumbled upon this one.

I like the melody and it uses some instruments not used nowadays.

Trivia: It's a Polish war song from the times of partitions What is particularly interesting is that Polish military and patriotic songs usually are cheerful, with an idealized picture of war. This one is... has its weight, let's just say. Also, it's clearly of Eastern origin/influence. I mean, maybe contemporary Ukraine.

  2. An unusual approach; if you own a good set of pedals select the one with worse yaw stability. Which would be the MiG :) Why? Because such a property gives better 'I'm flying a plane. In the air!' sensation. What do you think?

Remember the blood test scene from the Thing? Here's a version of the scene enacted in Frozen kid's animation :)

  4. There was a restored cockpit section of a Polish Mig-21R at the Avalon Airshow in Australia. Pay $1 and get to sit in the cockpit. No brainer!

The guy I spoke to said they were having trouble finding translations of all the switches so I pointed out as many as I could from Mig-21Bis knowledge (There were a number of differences in this one to the Bis but a lot of the basic switchology was the same). Referred them to DCS: Mig-21 to aid them in trying to understand the cockpit.

    Well done!!!

What a photo! And with one of my favorite ROBUST fighters.

    What is this banshee-like fighter?

  5. This is an another thread on the subject and I'm speaking in general here. Some people really need to educate themselves. I mean people claiming that it is possible to make a high-fidelity contemporary flight model without modeling flight control systems limitations AND the limitations of human kinematics; as well as people who claim you can't model such limitations without special hardware (sic!). Man, this is not even ignorance with aerodynamics etc. It's ignorance on the level of 'haven't even learned from games played in the past'.

As for the 'feature' being optional, it's as valid for being optional as two separate flight models. Unless for SP if you'd like the 109 to fly like a RC plane. (unless you do have full-scale, high-load set of flight controls at your disposal).

So please stop puting it like it is some kind of 'Yo-Yo's personal choice'.

A question from me to Yo-Yo:

Would it be technically viable to implement 'flight controls limitations OFF' for people who do own WW2 flight control replicas?

PS. There's always X-Plane. I don't think the poor blokes have discovered flight control systems limitations modeling to this day.

  6. They are testing me I see. All the positive signs and for trailer - the single song I hate to the bone. Well, maybe along with the MGMT piece, the one with vocal samples taken from violated baboons :D Both as overused as it gets.

But yeah, it's only for the trailer. Game of thrones guys often use rock songs for their trailers.

  7. Bucic. I need pictures of the Russian smart grads and designators. From what I heard the specops designate the enemy armour and the hail follows the laser. There are also supposedly a thermobaric bore launched round which can also be guided by laser SPOT.

You need to start a new topic. I won't be able to help you but there's a high probability someone else is going to provide you at least a hint.

  8. Jan 17th 2015, war in Ukraine

After the second Minsk talks the ceasefire is as expected - nonexistent. The fighting near and IN Debaltseve (controlled by Ukrainian forces before the talks) is ongoing with first signs of encirclement by the Russian-backed rebel forces.

    Update:

    Ukrainian forces withdrawing from Debaltseve.

The video below shows T-72B3 which is, to all my knowledge, exclusive to Russian army
