.....The entire flight sim world is counting on ED to pull this off.
No pressure then.
-
F-5's are so damn sexy.
-
Nevermind, I've sorted the problem. I right-clicked on the DCS World folder and selected "Grant Admin Full Control". Every single file in the folder now has admin rights. Missions load fine now. Thank god for that.
-
I have installed DCS_World_1.2.11.33921.545-358, a fresh install after uninstalling the previous one. Before installing i also deleted any DCS folders from varioius places - saved games, appdata folders etc. So it was a completely fresh start.
I now get a DCS World has stopped working error whenever i try to fly a mission. It crashes back to the main interface gui.
I have done 3 fresh installs, I've tried deleting all the various data folders, running repairs, running as admininistrator, reinstalling directX and the visual runtimes, matching resolutions, changing graphics settings to minimums. I'm running no mods. Always crashes whenever i try to fly, be it a training mission, a quick mission or a saved mission. I'm getting very fed up with.
Here's my most recent log file:

When i first started JSGME I forgot to tell it to select the _MOD folder instead of the MOD folder.
Is there any way of changing this afterhand?
I can't remember how i actually installed JSGME, but in my DCS World folder i have a file called JSGME.ini. Opening up that file i have this:
"[MODS FOLDER]
Name=MY_MODS
[JSGME DETAILS]
FullPath=F:\JSGME for DCS World\JSGME.exe
[FORM SIZE]
Main Height=1004
Main Left=463
Main Top=12
Main Width=915
Main WindowState=0
".
So, if you can find your particular JSGME.ini file then I would imagine that altering your "[MODS FOLDER] Name=MOD" part to "[MODS FOLDER] Name=_MOD" should fix it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Bucic. I enjoyed watching these at RIAT this year.

Hi Mustang. I've got my custom made package to textures from various places which i am happy with. Can you tell me the Mipmap settings you use so i can mipmap my textures. I have the software to accomplish the mipmapping, i just don't know what mipmap settings are best for performance and quality. Any info would be appreciated.

So as an ab initio pilot i will start in the Hawk, progress to the Tucano and finally graduate in the Grob. I like it. :music_whistling:

Just to be clear remon, you will still have to expand the .dl_ file once you have extracted it with 7-zip.
"Every file that ends with a _ will require you to expand it so that it can be usable as an actual file. For example, let’s expand atiumdag.dl_. Type ‘expand atiumdag.dl_ atiumdag.dll‘ (press enter to execute the command obviously) and you should now have the complete .DLL file"

A bit late on this.
What I do is take the atiumd64.dl_ ( there isn't an atiumd64.dll in the rar) and put it on the DCS bin folder as said. If i leave it as a .dl_ it does nothing, if I rename it to atiumd64.dll the game crashes immidiately before the launcher loads. Do I have to do anything else?
Also, no SweetFX, no ENB, and I'm running 14.8.
Hi remon.
You must not simply rename the .dl_ file to a .dll file. You have to expand it using a command prompt. See here for instructions on how to do it:
http://www.kn00tcn.net/site/how-to-extract-dlls-from-amd-catalyst-driver-packages/
Hope this helps remon.

Hello dear Milli,
Super, I would like to thank you for your explanation, please can you tell me if this option is available in this menu ?
Thanks again, Skull.
I'm having problems seeing your attached image Skull. The location of the option is found by starting DCS World, going to your options page and looking for the "Visible Range" option, part way down the other list of options.
Take a note of what you have selected (Low, Medium, High or whatever). Then go find the corresponding Low.Lua, Medium.Lua or High.Lua file in your DCS World terrain folder. Should be here: DCS World \ Config \ terrain.
Change the appropriate file by altering the numbers shown in t.Jacob's first post.
Hope this helps.
-
Well i bought mine on the 21st feb 2011. Typical.
-
I know my question is stupid but please can you explain where I can found this choose "Visual Range" ?
In the DCS option menu ?
Skull.
Yes Skull. Whatever visible option you use (Low, Medium, High or other) from the pull down menu in DCS World Options, then you need to alter the corresponding .lua file with the numbers shown in the first post.

Beautiful. And I like the MFD button position indicator lines. Hmmm....where's my white marker pen?
-
It is nice to see your name appear again. Hope you're doing ok.
-
If no one comes up with an answer for you, then maybe you could use AutoHotkey to send the default key command to DCS whenever you press a single key of your own choosing.
I use it to send various key commands whenever i press certain joystick buttons and to control my voice activation software.

Welcome to your new world Jeff. I think any aircraft, if well done, will attract interest. We're all mad about planes and helicopters here. A Phantom would sure be lovely. I just want a Tornado GR4 and a JaguaR GR3. Oh and a bucaneer, a tomcat, a harrier GR9, an F-111....
