F-16. The app is running on the background. Like I said the overall sync works OK (turning Consoles Brightness Knob affects the Throttle backlight), A/A and A/G buttons' LED are not synced when I enter the appropriate mode by pressing these buttons

Those controls are not really related to SimAppPro.  Windows sees them as buttons on a device, so they'll work properly even without SimAppPro installed, let alone running.  You only need SimAppPro running for syncing lights and or running any UFC or ICP info.  Somewhere your SimAppPro isn't communicating with DCS.  Might be an antivirus or firewall blocking the communication.

Hey there. This is probably a known thing and easy fix, but I've noticed that the TM warthog throttle sometimes require double input in order to register a click. What I mean by this is for example to turn off the APU switch, I have to turn it off, then on again and off one more time so the game registers it. Or move the throttle to idle, back to off and back to idle to register the idle position.

Do you know why is that and how to fix it?

    Thanks

Yes.  The TM only send a signal when clicking one direction.  In some cases there is an "2 pos switch" in the description usually with <> between the positions and under category "special for Joystick" which will do what you want.  For a lot of bindings this option doesn't exist, and years ago you had to edit lua files to overcome this limitation.  Now you just need to use the "ON' and "OFF" bindings for the switch.  Use the actual ON click for the ON binding and for the OFF binding double click on that and use the dropdown in the KEY/BUTTON box and select the OFF version for the button (i.e. use button 10 for on, then "button 10 off" from the dropdown for the off binding).
This is primarily a limitation of the TM hardware these days.  Most others will send a signal in both the "ON" and "OFF" (and middle if they have that) states.

  3. What plane?  And are you leaving SimAppPro running in the background while you're flying (you need to for lights to sync)?

And if you're using Tacview and SRS as well, make sure your export.lua is set up in this order:

    D:\Users\xxxx\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Export.lua

    TacView

    WinWing

    SRS

ORBX is the publisher not the developer.

Are you sure?  I understand that there is overlap of devs from SA map and Kola map, and SA has Razbam strictly as a publisher, but as I understood Kola, Orbx are actual developer on it.  Not confident in my understanding so don't take it as for sure being correct, but that was what I thought.

If you try that other sim that streams the content it actually doesn’t need that much bandwidth. The recommended is just 50mbps. It seems like the only solution for games with such large content. Like when or if DCS ends up with a global map just putting it on a drive will become unmanageable.

"Just" 50 mbps.  In some cases that's not available on the user end.

And as BigNewy pointed out, that's multiplied by thousands on the ED end that has to serve up.

    Hi Developers and Drivers,

I've had a slight problem with the trigger setting where if the aircraft reaches a certain altitude, a message is suppose to pop up.

    The parameter is:

*Aircraft is higher than 9000 feet MSL-> Message to Group

    What I found is:

*Aircraft reached 29,900ft (~9000 meters) -> Message comes up

Is there a way to fix this wording or change the parameters to actual feet?

I don't believe it actually says FEET, but either way the measurements are all in METERS rather than feet.  Yes it would be good if it included what unit it was using.  That one caught me out when I was learning the mission editor.

Basically everything in the background of DCS is in metric because it the countries where DCS was originally developed were metric AND it's a lot easier to work in metric than imperial units.  Any imperial units in DCS are converted from metric in the background.

Thanks( I know about that file), but thats just workaround, that is not systematic solution worth of mil sim like DCS suppose to be.

If you want full sim level then load the file before you get in the plane. You can set up all the things you want in the DTC and save it to a file. That simulates sticking the cartridge in where you need it.  Explanation before my latest post is how to do that.  Not sure how changing the original version of the DTC file to a default is any less of systematic solution or any more realistic.  If you don't like what's in the default, before you hit the fly button there is an option to go in and change the file to what you want for that mission (that's what an IRL pilot would do).  I'm really unclear what you are asking for that's different to the current situation?

@Phantom711Thanks, just now, the friend of mine told me the same advice.

THIS IS *** I would say *** NOT CLEAVER *** SOLUTION.
PLEASE @BIGNEWY We SHOULD BE ABLE to make out DTC - DEFAULT one, and this mentioned NON-intuitive process have as backup for special cases, where not even our default one is well suited for mission you are about to fly.

Go to my post above and it will point you to the file you need to edit that loads as default DTC now.  You still need to load it in the plane system (in the F-18 anyway), but you won't have to load the file each time.

May I ask you BN in this regard what about the fix for the Winwing panels in case of the Dimm export problem?

One of the many threads that explain the issue and where it's at (short version is no quick or easy fix).  As MAXsenna said, there are a number of threads on this and ED has commented a number of times.

Except... I now get a modestly annoying issue, only in the main menu screen, whereby the mouse locks up and lags/stutters about. I can navigate just with difficulty, and once in-sim the mouse works fine. Not the biggest issue, but still annoying. Anyone else seen this / have any ideas? For whatever reason disabling the ecores seems to be the culprit.

For some reason DCS currently doesn't like some high polling rate mice in the main menu.  Seems to be >500 mhz causes issues with them.  Do a search around the forums and there are a number of posts on that.

No, it's not.  It takes less than one minute to recreate in the ME as you should know because you did it.  All your specific questions are pointless because the answer to them is All.  It's not a specific situation.  One track file will not show that and people tend to dissect the specifics of a track file rather than looking at the base game issue that this one is.

I'm also a little annoyed that something that was so obvious (Noticed in the very first post patch engagement) and prevalent was missed in testing and we are now stuck with it until ED decides to fix it.  Which could mean a month or more where BVR lacks even a modicum of challenge.  I already spent enough time testing the different aircraft, missiles and waypoint settings to waste more and go and turn track files back on and risk the return of the micro stutters that turning them off eliminated for me.

I'm happy to help track down more obscure or difficult to recreate issues and have done so many times in the past.  That isn't necessary here.  Besides, some yahoo will always post a track for me when the problem is this easy to recreate.

This issue one would have thought they should have caught for sure with beta testers playing normally.

I'm reasonably proficient with the ME and it too me longer than a minute to set it all up and boot into it.  If you had bothered to post a track I wouldn't have needed to.  And with the details you provided it definitely wasn't clear that it happened in all aircraft/with all weapons (saying you tested this extensively is meaningless because it could have been variations on the same specific combinations of aircraft that had an issue where others might not have).  It baffles my mind why people are so completely resistant to posting a track when they say they've tested it extensively.  Just hit save track and post the freaking thing.  Honestly it's just the polite thing to do so somebody else doesn't have to spend time recreating it.  And this "yahoo" definitely won't be posting tracks for you next time when you have that attitude.

The number of times people have tested stuff that's broken, but when they do post a track it's user error.....

  12. You know, the reason why you're going to get asked for a track is that that's a lot easier than messing around trying to recreate what you did.

In this case: what player aircraft?  What AI aircraft?  What ARH A2A missile (AIM-120? Russian one?).  What elevation were each at?  What bearing were they at?  What Advanced Waypoint settings?  It saves everyone a lot of time if you take 20 seconds to save and post a track file.

Well something that I have found in the DCS main files

Is that the harm missile is listed as much bigger than it actually is and that's the reason why it gets detected

The harmless listed with a 245.0 mm diameter

Which makes it about the same size a little bit bigger than a harpoon missile

And the reality is that the harm missile is more the size of a M9 missile which is about 24.5 mm

Since we can see there's typographical error and the harm missile profile in DCS world which makes it much bigger than it actually is

Famous translation of the decimal point

I don't have to pass the file on me right now I'm at work but I can get it later if you want it

So just to make it understand in terms of radar propagation

Because of their only being 24.5 mm instead of 245 mm it's a much smaller Target and a Target that size coming directly at a radar at that speed which is 3.2 Mach

That missile is going to be picked up by the target radar regardless of what kind of radar it is

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but 24.5 mm is only about one inch.  No way that is correct.  245 mm is just shy of 10 inches which seems more reasonable.

  14. You can delete the MT shortcut.  Both versions are MT (actually, they are identical) now but ED has left a bin-MT folder for backwards compatibility so they don't have to deal with the support calls for the shortcut no longer working if they remove that folder.  It will get removed at some point when enough people stop using it.

Hi Rob, yup, it should function as an emulator that you assign keys to but Windows 11 doesn't recognise it.  One set of instructions said to install the software before plugging the unit in while another said to plug the unit in first...both from Logitech as a source.  Neither have worked.  The OS just doesn't recognise the unit.

Do you have another computer to plug it into?  That seems like a hardware issue and it's DOA 🤔
