[NO BUG]Missing fuel low caution lights in gage test
Fer109 replied to Fer109's topic in Bugs and Problems
In that case, I have to admit I was wrong thinking this system would be the same in both version of F-5. Sorry for my incorrect appreciation. On the other hand, it is a good trace of how well is implemented this nice module. :book: -
[NO BUG]Missing fuel low caution lights in gage test
Fer109 replied to Fer109's topic in Bugs and Problems
An upgraded version of F-5B in Spain. Of course, this F-5B and the F-5E have some differences (engines, nose trut, radar, some nav/radio equipment) but I don't think this issue would be different. Anyway, I consider this "fault" not very important. Problably, most people do not normally use "GAGE TEST", and they wil not notice. I just have the possibility to ask to people who manage a real F-5, and they confirmed I was right, but base on experience (because I did not find info related in manual). -
You are totally right. I also found in manual the "warning" you mentioned. Sorry for my "guessing".

[FIXED]Antenna Selector Switch (COMM ANT) default position
Fer109 replied to Fer109's topic in Bugs and Problems
Nice! We are improving this module  -
Good news. Nice to know your are taking care our reports.

On ground, when oxygen switch is off, oxygen pressure indicator marks zero, but it should indicate pressure (around 65 psi). In DCS we only have pressure indication after placing oxygen switch to on. Oxygen pressure indicator is not related to oxygen switch position. If working fine, should mark pressure always (as far you have some oxygen quantity). (Can be checked in a real F-5)

[NO BUG]Missing fuel low caution lights in gage test
Fer109 replied to Fer109's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just talk my friend and confirm in a real F-5 L/R FUEL LOW caution lights go on with gage test. The reason may be is not well implemented is due to L/R FUEL LOW caution, problably is related to actual fuel quantity in simulator, but in the real plane is related to fuel indicator. PD Do you have any F-5 pilot or ground crew supporting your task? They can easily confirm this and other issues. If you have made this module, base only in the flight manual and not in real experience, and pretending to be "accurate and realistic with detailed modelling of the F-5E instruments, engine, radios, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems" (as mentioned in DCS web), we have a problem. -
I see you have answered some posts. That is good news. Anyway, in the forum you can find that I am not the only one willing more feedback from partners.

Happy to know that.

[NO BUG]Missing fuel low caution lights in gage test
Fer109 replied to Fer109's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you, for your answer. Pressing "gage test switch" fuel and oxygen indicator pointer rotate counter-clockwise toward zero. L/R FUEL LOW caution lights should go on when internal fuel descend respective below 400 lbs. Same way Oxygen caution light go on when pointer reaches 0.5 liters during test, I suppose L/R FUEL LOW caution lights should go on when indicator descend below 400 lbs during same test. Of course, if not a critical issue. I will ask to a friend that flies F-5 just to confirm it -
Sorry, I found that issue was already reported by P3CFE. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171861 Anyway, It would be nice to have some feedback or at least, a simple acknowledge to our reports. I don´t want to waste my time. Belsimtek (or ED as backup), should attend its official product forum. It is very dissapointing or may be I asking too much.

According to DCS F-5 manual, fuel quantity indicator needs AC power. On a cold start, using "Gage test/Qty check" you can check fuel quantity with Battery power (DC power) throught Static Inversor. But if you leave indicator in Gage Test, (marking "0" in fuel indicator) without selecting "quantity check", when engine are started and we get AC power from generators, fuel quantity should be working, but still continue marking "0". Of course, can be "fixed" pressing "Qty check", but it means that is not properly implemented.

With Battery off you can move gear handle up on ground with no problems (even without pressing "landing gear downlock override button"). You shoundn´t able to do that no matter Battery switch position.
-
With weight on wheels normaly all fighter´s radar are not able to transmit even in OPR mode (problably in order to prevent radiations to ground crew). But I had "nails" in my RWR from my F-5 wingman while taxiing on ground. So, RDR was transmitting on ground, and it is supposed to not to do that. PD: Same bug can be also detected in FC3 fighters... but they are supposed to be only "mid-fidelity" flight simulation.

Good to have some feedback.

Totally agree... Language cannot be the excuse. Very disappointing...
-
I agree with all your points, Reddlyph. But... Is there anybody reading our comments and taking them into cons¡deration or we are loosing our time? There are no feed back of our reports. I think it should be better fixing bugs and problems than setting up a skin contest.

According to manual: "GAGE TEST – Fuel and oxygen quantity indicator pointers rotate counter-clockwise toward zero. (Pointer rotation toward zero is indicative of proper operation of static inverter. Oxygen caution light illuminates when pointer reaches 0.5 liters.)" In the same way, L and R FUEL LOW caution lights should be on during gage test. But is doesn´t.

There is a "manual" way to "calculate" QNH on ground: 1.Just check on F10 view your altitude of your parking position. 2. Set your altitude in altimeter setting with your altitude parking position. 3. This setting should be you QNH. This "manual" proccedure consider that your altimeter works with no errors. (In real life altimeters has an acceptable error close to 70 feet). Anyway, QNH provided by ATC or briefing (LALT+B), should be better for me.
-
In several training missions (bombing training tutorial, for instance) is mentioned that QNH can be found in mission briefing (LALT+B), in weather section. That is not correct. I could check temperature, wind, ceiling... but not QNH.

I have detected some malfuctions in chaff program execution: 1. No matter chaff mode is in program, if FLARE mode is in single mode, chaff will work as if were in single too. 2. "chaff burst" allways works a if it were selected "1". I made my tests on ground, starting with 30 chaffs and 15 flares and using ground power. Fortunatelly, no problem detected with flares.

Thank you for the related post and the opinions. Now it is cristal clear. So, removed after one update, but still alive in loadoubts.
-
Thank you for your replies. I have duplicated the preset loadoubt with 8 MK-20s, and then I modified it preserving as many MK-20 as I need. So, I can fly and drop MK-20s with no problems, but it is quite unusual to have to do in this way. No reason for not able to select them manually.
