  1. Hmmm...I thought I had done this, but come to think of it, I may have just been trying to call AWACS on F7 and never tried F10. But yeah I've solved my SA-10 problem by terrain masking, however now my problem with that mission is the air cover nailing me every time. I'll have to try F10 next time.
  2. They're in The Shore, Mission #4. I was trying to go over the SA-8's, still got buggered by the sa-10. Guess I'm just gonna have to hit the deck.
  3. Is it better to go over or under the radar on these ones?
  4. I can't get through The Shore mission #4 without getting shot down by the SA-8's accompanying the tank convoys. I've tried the mission both at high altitude (15,000ft) and low (hugging the ground once I get over land) and those darn SA-8 always shoot me right in the face, even as I blow tons of chaff and jam them up the yin-yang. I appear to be technically proficient (good at targeting and employing the various weapon types) but my tactics for dealing with different types of SAMs are pathetic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Fixed itself by rebooting the entire sim, instead of rebooting just the mission.
  6. I swear I've dropped CBU's correctly before (the WCMD thingies, not the JDAMs), I don't know what I'm doing wrong all of a sudden. I slave every thing to my target in the TGP, DSMS shows the CBU's as 'RDY' (not ALN UNS), they are set to CCRP both in profile and on the HUD, and while I DO get a 'MAN RLS' cue to drop when I'm over the target, I'm missing my CCRP vertical line throughout the run. Then when the bomb is released, it spins uncontrollably end over end and detonates WAY off target. It would seem as if it is not aligned corrctly, but I swear I'm not doing anything differently during setup. I wait until my CDU is _flashing_ 'INS NAV RDY', then select NAV in the CDU, switch from HARMS to EGI, enable EAC, etc etc.
  7. This has happened to me quite a few times, usually only after speed got north of 140, but before rolling back on the elevator to takeoff attitude. I assumed it was flight modeling of bumps in the runway and so now when I takeoff I start adding just a touch of back pressure on the elevator so the nose is just shy of floating as speed goes from 135 to 160, then I complete my rollup to takeoff attitude. I haven't lost a nosewheel on takeoff since I started doing this.
  8. I was able to find my GUI manual for Black Shark, but not for A10C. Any help? Links? Regards, Ocean
  9. "So however it may be fun, it's highly unrealistic in terms of real world stuff." Fair enough, but if we're insisting on 100% realism, shouldn't we be able to put the plane back into the hangar, ready to pull out again, through some mechanism other than the 'magic' of quitting and restarting a mission?
  10. Fine, let me rephrase: I want to be able to 'push-back' INTO a hangar!
  11. I have been dreaming of a study sim of the Millenium Falcon for decades now.
  12. I hate that if I pull into a hangar, there is no way to get back out. I would love a hotkey like in FSX that allows ground crew to push your aircraft backwards. Seems easy enough, but what do I know about programming.
  13. I'd love to be able to pull into a hangar and then back out again. FSX has a 'push-back' feature, I'm curious if there's a similar keypress in DCS?
  14. Thanks Nikola. To be clear, is what you're describing called 'hook'ing? I see that pressing the TMS up (short) while in TAD mode is the 'hook' function. I still don't know what 'hook'ing means or is for (in the context of this simulation, that is!!!) :-D
  15. I've got the process of slaving all to where my TGP is pointing down pat, but I am not having the same luck slaving all to where my TAD cursor is pointing. When my _TGP_ is SOI and is in 'Point' mode, I direct it to my target, then hold TMS forward (long) to make it my SPI, then hold China Hat forward (long) to slave all to my SPI. Works like a charm. However, when my _TAD_ is SOI instead of the TGP and I want to slave all to my TAD cursor, I would have thought the process is the same: put the tad cursor over the spot you want to make SPI (such as JTAC's red diamond 'attack' cursor), then hold TMS forward (long) and then hold China Hat forward (long). You'd think my gbu's or mav's would now be slaved to this point, but they never are. Am I missing something? I still am kind of dim when it comes to using the 'Mark' or 'Hook' functions and am curious if this has something to do with my TAD targeting frustrations. Basically what I'm trying to do is quickly and easily slave my TGP or weapons to the red diamond 'attack' cursor that I get from JTAC after correct 9-line readback. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Ocean
