  1. Sure is Welsh. Check this link. This is the one I have. It keeps the start detent where you have to lift, but the burner detent is a push through. Works great. Check the other parts, he's got several different types. Center detents, lift up burner, etc. Take a peek. https://www.shapeways.com/product/3MJPNE2SV/warthog-throttle-part-afterburner-detent?optionId=63799442&li=related-items Regards, Mack
  2. Scorch can you increase the dead zone on the switch(axes) just enough so it ignores the slight deflection when you press down? Probably a sweet spot somewhere that will work best. Enough to ignore slight deflections, but not so much as to cause issues when trying to actually slew on target. I use the force sensor so I don't have that push option, but often wondered about that very question regarding the newer slew switch.
  3. Thanks folks. All good info. Great video. This was the key for me. I didn't understand or know what "properly trimmed" meant. It's all about trimming to get that velocity vector right on that Bracket center line- and then all throttle from there to move the vector to the landing spot. Also, as stated, you can't react to the bracket moving, you gotta anticipate a bit with that throttle. But once trimmed - THEN moving the throttle pushes the VV and Bracket up and down together. It was getting that Vector in the bracket using trim that was the fundamental error and was what I wasn't doing correctly. And another thing - don't under estimate the amount of trim you need - it ain't a simple press or two - you're holding it down for full 1-2 seconds. Experiment. One last question. How do I keep the angle of attack displayed on the HUD? I see it when I start - then as I'm making adjustments, it disappears until touchdown. Is there a keystroke to always keep that AOE alpha symbol on the HUD? Many thanks to all for the suggestions. Mack
  4. Chaps- What is the damn secret to getting my Aircraft setup in 'OnSpeed AoA" ? I've watched the videos, read the articles, and spent a lot of time in the cockpit and I think I've got to be missing something. Look at the attached Picture. Let's just use this for an example. I've got the Velocity vector (VV) right on the horizon, the E-bracket above the horizon, and I'm at 140 kts. So right now - what the hell do I do to get the VV in the middle of the bracket - but yet stay level? Do I pitch up? Do I never touch the pitch and only ever trim once gear/flaps are down? My god all I keep doing is chasing that damn bracket up and down the screen while my nose just bounces back and forth. If I manage to get the VV in the E bracket, then I'm 10 degrees below the damn horizon. Then, when im below the horizon but on AOA, what do I do to get back to level flight but remain onspeed AOA? Every time I touch the throttle or the stick my VV and bracket go their separate ways and back I go to fighting it again. When you guys say "trim", are you applying 1 or 2 taps of the trim or are you TRIMMING hard? Whats the secret to quickly getting the VV in the E-bracket and staying level at a cozy 130-140 kts? I'm sure Im making this harder than it should be, but for the love of all that's holy, what is the secret? Preciate any tips. Mack
  5. Just wanted to add my two cents regarding the force sensor upgrade. I'm always combing the forums here looking and waiting for diligent and clever folks to come up with better solutions to shortcomings in my flight sim hardware. Happens all the time with flight sim gear because they're simply never quite perfect. I'm always looking to make things just a little bit better. When looking for Mods, I want things to be easy to install, look good, and just work. I have expendable cash, what I ain't got is time to waste on crap that doesn't work as advertised. That's why I wait to pull the trigger until I really like what I see and get some honest feedback from folks. Delta's force sensor slew upgrade is fantastic. Yea, as stated, it's a tad on the pricey side but I'm firm believer you get what you pay for when it's done correctly. I'm also pretty sure the cost is wrapped up in the sensor itself, and when you use it, you understand why. As others have said, using a force sensor takes a few minutes to "get" but man, not sure I'll ever go back when it comes to a slewing device. At the risk of sounding like a paid advertisement, I just wanted to say thanks to Delta for not only the quality he put into the work, but the time he spent designing, building, and shipping all this stuff. It's an effort - and it's appreciated. Hell, I even asked him a bunch of other electronic questions after the purchase, and he took time to answer them all for me, and in great detail. I see lots of folks working on various upgrades and mods, stating they're going to do this, or provide that, but in the end, hope wanes and the thread dies a slow death and the mod never comes to fruition. You know what I'm talking about. It's great when a mod is finally completed, is available in quantity, and works as advertised. Anyway, I don't post much but did want to provide some honest feedback for Delta. It's the least I could do. Attached are some photos I took of my install with a few things I noticed and appreciated, and are examples of the kind of things I look for when sniffing out these kinds of hardware mods. They make a difference. The force sensor slew works great and this new one he's working on looks great as well. I look forward to some reviews of this new slew switch. Regards, Mack
  6. Thermal I love what you did here. Thanks for the info. I purchased the same switch. Question - when you mount it, does the 9mm hole allow you to push this in snugly and friction keeps it mounted (like the sensor) or did you affix this some other way? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of surface area for this switch to work with. Just want to verify before I start drilling holes. Thanks.
  7. Breathe new life into my Cougar stick and throttle? Yes please! Deal me in. Have a great vacation and fill us in on order details when you get back. Take care. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  8. The images are fantastic on your site, thanks. Question - the image file shows relative sizes, but what is the actual size that the smaller piece needs to be to fit on the existing control. Whats the actual width of that 'square' that fits over the control? Steve
  9. and you did install the separate A10 Module....? If so, Mr_Burns, did you forget to release the hounds? Sorry I couldn't help myself...
  10. I can't seem to get the ole awesome engine heat blur to work. I know it worked great before. I turned it off and on, dinked witht he HDR settings, etc. Maybe it's just me. Can you guys see the engine heat blur with the patch applied?
  11. Guys I've been looking at that TrackIR product for a while. I understand how much people in the Sim community use and love it and I can see the value for cockpit viewing. As I watch the demos and check out the features, there's one question I can't seem to answer or grasp. If the cockpit view turns and moves with your head movement, then how are you able to see the monitor?? In other words I rotate my head to the far right to look out cockpit - but now I can't see the monitor because my head is turned to the right. LOL. What am I missing here? Sorry for the noob question.
  12. Great radio tutorial - thanks! And sure enough, the problem was that I was setting everything correctly - except I was NOT using the Mic switch. As soon as I hit the mic switch and selected VHF AM - all was good. The question is - what does the radio default to? If I set my fequency - and then just hit the \ key to bring up comms - what radio is it using? Is it defaulting to FM? Or simply nothing at all? RTFM was my solution all along, but damn, I can see where others are going to set that frequency, have APU up and running, pop open the COMMS menu and think all is well... Regardless, the sim is lots of fun. Baby steps...
  13. Tower Comms Does tower comms (ATC) come automatically in every single mission - either downloaded or stock - or does it have to be 'programmed' into the mission? I haven't gotten one reply from ATC for a Start up yet. I verify what Airfield I'm at (via F10 overhead map) - I set the VHF to the correct frequency - I select ATC (F5) from comms menu - I select the correct Airfield (usually F1) - and then I request a Startup. I make sure the VHF is set to TR (even though upon close inspection it says TK in the cockpit). I never have gotten one response. I gotta be doing something wrong....
  14. In Cockpit Mission Plan Fellas- I checked the keyboard command list and either didn't see it or missed it, but is there a keystroke that will bring up the mission summary In-Cockpit so when I'm doing my start-up and get to the radios I have a clue what to set them to? Or is this the ole write em down before ya go in routine? Thanks. Mack
