omg this is golden! thanks for putting this together! it is very neat and organized
-
the same thing actually also happens when your plane is flipped upside down in water or land.
-
still not out eh? darn!
-
yup that is exactly what I have been pressing, but it only controls the toggle to what type of autopilot you want, it doesn't engage the auto. I think hog driver is right in pressing A or Ctrl A to engage. I will double check!

beauty! thanks!!!!!!!!

Any update on DX11 progress and nevada???
jpanside replied to jctrnacty's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
oops my bad I should have been clearer and said that it will affect your frames per second. I know that dx11 doesn't have anything to do with network performance, but from what I have experienced, DX11 graphics and settings take more V Ram and CPU power to run, thus you have a drop in FPS. Are you saying this is not the case? -
Just did my flying for today, but I ran into some problems, here are my questions! 1. Can you tell me why the flaps do not go down sometimes? Sometimes it works and sometime it don't. Other times, I press F to lower flaps and nothing happens, 5 minutes later I look at my wings and my flaps are down. wtf? :P 2. Pretty sure the ILS volume is bugged. No matter which way I turn it, it is still loud and annoying as hell. =) 3. When the tower clears me for taxi to runway, do I hold short before the runway and then ask to takeoff? Usually in the aviation field, they tell you to hold short but in this game the dialogue is not there. Thank you! 4. Most important thing! almost left it out. Is there a way to ENGAGE autopilot without having to press the button? I looked through the key list and could not find the hotkey. They have hotkeys for setting the type of autopilot you want but nothing about engaging it. Is there a default key to engage autopilot? Thanks!

this is real good for noobs like me. checklist will be handy -
what u calling it?

if the student is incompetent then the instructor can only do so much. I found the missions to be really well done, you just need to study a bit more before you dive in.

immensely helpful! thank you so much! Okay I have a link to the track that has two landings. one at batumi and one at kobuleti. this was the training mission for landing. yeah I had a REAL bad landing at batumi and landed way too early at kobuleti but I would like to know if my pattern was correct and also my approach to the approach fix point. http://www.mediafire.com/?pq229dl4mc2xs73 Also, I have an illustration of something that is confusing me. In this video at the 6:30 mark, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKV-PaPEpEQ, the ATC tells the player to land at runway 240. But is the pattern a left pattern or right pattern? It seems like it is a Right pattern (even though he doesn't demonstrate and lands on the opposite runway), but how do you know it is a right pattern? I do not recall the ATC clarifying the traffic pattern in the video. Thank you!

yay! I managed to land for the first time but I am still somewhat confused as to the procedures and landing instruments. oh and I could not find the track for the training missions T_T doesn't give me an option to save. Well, I still wrote all my questions in flight and here they are! 1. "Batumi, Hawg 1-1, fly heading 235 for 40, QFE 3984, Runway 13, to pattern altitude." Q: What does for 40 mean? Fly heading 235 for 40 nm? And, what does QFE 3984 mean? And, what does it mean when it says pattern altitude at the end? I know pattern altitude is like 2,500ish ft but how do I know WHEN to drop down to this altitude? Like when do I go down to 2,500? 2. The guide talks about Final Approach Fix, but I do not know where this is and it doesn't show on the GPS. I am thinking it is imaginary and is a certain point off the runway. My guess is that the Final Approach Fix is the destination point that the ATC gives me when I call for inbound. But how do I know when to stop and not pass this Final Approach Fix? 3. Just to clarify, I should only turn on nose wheel steering at below 70 knots? 4. I have been using the ILS as the guide instructs, there seems to be two yellow needles, am I supposed to criss cross them to be on glide? 5. When I am directly lined up with the runway, is the HSI line supposed to point in the direction of my aircraft and is the line supposed to be directly under my plane? 6. My biggest question would be: when do I make my base to final turn? and how do I know if I should enter downwind or base when entering the pattern? So far it seems like the ATC is telling me to directly enter base and then make a turn into final, no downwind leg at all. All the ATC tells me is the runway and the heading. Then if I do not manually make a turn towards the airport and get 10nm near it, the ATC will not say a thing. And, even when they do give me visual, all they say is call tower. At this point, I just request landing and land. No other directions. Even, if I take the wrong runway, they just say land. Thanks guys!

Does the TrackIR reduce computer performance?
jpanside replied to jpanside's topic in Bugs and Problems
thank you! :P -
I am getting the TrackIR5 soon as I found it extremely inefficient to constantly LALT+C everywhere. But before I buy I was wondering if any of the users could tell me if they see a frames per second drop when using the TrackIR to look around. I am hoping this is not the case.

for some reason the tracks do not seem to be saving. i cant find them in replay folder T_T
-
thanks a lot! btw if I give you a replay will you be able to view EVERYTHING I did? Like can you see what I clicked in the cockpit and stuff? If so I would appreciate it if I could get a replay of someone doing this training mission to the letter. I will do the mission and save the track.
-
yeah i saw that one already but what I wanted was a walkthrough that went through the landing tutorial that is one of the training missions in DCS Warthog. The same as Wagmatt's walkthrough on the ramp start.
-
I am learning how to land the A-10C and I was looking for videos on the Landing tutorial they have in the simulator. Does anyone have or know of a video that walks through this tutorial? I feel like I am following all the directions given by the ATC and the guide but I seem to be doing something wrong. Thanks! edit: hmm still can't find any videos on this mission. I guess I will just read the book more.
-
I dont think you can. this is actually really annoying though. I hope DCS can fix this.
-
hmm you having problems with hotkeys? you should be starting up the plane easily if ya got the weapons systems down. right windows home? do you mean right-alt + home to idle left engine? right-ctrl+home is right engine. tell us your problem cuz you shouldnt be stuck on the ground.
-
thanks a lot for the answers!! yeah waiting for my x52 T_T so just messing around on land

many thanks nomdeplume!

Nub pilot here getting stuck taxiing. For some reason I cannot steer the aircraft and move it left or right in the direction I want. I only have a keyboard so I am using the arrow keys to move. Nose wheel steering is engaged but I am having no luck. I can see that the flaps are moving and the joystick is moving about, but the aircraft does not move left or right. also, I seem to be getting stuck, I am at full throttle but the aircraft just sits there. is it possible for the aircraft to become stuck in the grass? I released all the brakes and I am not pressing W...but the plane wants to lurch forward but does not move. Thank you.
