  1. Got a question about some of the options within the game. 1. What is the Radio Assist option and what does it do? 2. Easy communication sounds a lot like radio assist so I want to know the difference between both. 3. Permit crash RCVR? No idea. 4. Sync cockpit controls with HOTAS at mission start? once I get my hotas do I want to enable this option? Thank you! I added pictures for clarity!
  2. well to answer the question, compared to other games I've played this game is definitely the most noob unfriendly game. you cant really call it a game because of the realism :P if you are the type of person who easily gives up or becomes frustrated then I would not recommend this game because it takes patience and has a high learning curve. however, it is very rewarding and well worth the work! it is very doable and I have received quick answer and lots of help from other pilots. also, there are many video tutorials that can guide you. Still, it will take your over 2 weeks of play to get comfortable and get the basics down. Sometimes longer for folks who have little time.
  3. nice do you use trackir for better realism?
  4. hey fiveoh, where did you find the profiles for your x52? thanks!
  5. thanks for this! guides like these deserve a sticky
  6. thank you very much sir
  7. also you can lean left and right by going into free view mode (left alt and C). Then press the Scroll Key and drag wherever you want. really cool. but yeah, I would love more camera tips for people like me who do not have the trackir yet.
  8. thanks nate! for now I will just use the hat switch on a joystick to look around. btw someone online told me about profiles for the x52. I found some while searching the forums. however, is there one that is the most popular?
  9. i tried manually pushing the left throttle to idle but it doesnt seem to work. is it only possible with keys?
  10. darnit, is there any way to replicate that kind of realistic and free movement with keyboard and mouse?
  11. thank you so mucH! this that guy using track ir? his movements are flawless! in this video: the pilot seems to be using free view but is still able to click on buttons and switches. but when I press lft alt-C, I go into free view but I cannot click on buttons. However, by the way the view kinda "bobs" up and down (realism), I feel like I am missing another view option.
  12. Newbie here trying to get the cockpit view hotkeys down. I was wondering if it was possible to zoom in and out by using the scroll key on a mouse. I tried but I don't think it registers. Also, is there something like the free view that they had in Falcon 4.0? It is where you can click and drag your mouse around to look around, instead of pressing buttons. Really frustrating me so far T_T I have seen many videos and all the pilots are looking around and zooming in so smoothly and effortlessly. Also, by getting a Saitek x52, will my life be easier? Or will this be enough? http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Game-console/dp/B001CXYMFS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1305404193&sr=1-1
  13. haha just what I was looking for. Just bought this game on Steam. I downloaded all the pdf guides and will read them through. Btw, are there instructional videos that are helpful for beginners? I watched the start up video on youtube by the DCS producer. Would love to see more. Thank you.
