DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails.
Bravo020 replied to Mrmaverick's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Sorry, not the best of descriptions: What I meant to say, was that if you launch DCS World, and then select "Training", if you navigate to the Su-25T training task, if the training has been installed, a list of training tasks will be displayed, and beneath them is a "Delete" link. Selecting this will then proceed to uninstall that particular set of training tasks. I did this for all of my training tasks, but I suspect that it might only be necessary to delete the Su-25T training tasks rather than all of them...perhaps? Anyway, doing this permitted me to then install the upgrade without the updated failing to complete. After which I was then able to install the Mig 21 version, and re-install the training tasks again (you should now have an Install link instead of the Delete link. HTH. -
DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails.
Bravo020 replied to Mrmaverick's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Nothing to do with antivirus software for me. Just related to trying to upgrade with the training files installed. Once the training files were uninstalled the upgrade ran ok. I was then able to install the new mig release and then reinstall training missions once more. -
DCS 1.2.10 Update 1 / Change Log discussion
Bravo020 replied to Raven68's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I was able to get the update to work, only after I had uninstalled the training material. I did this for _every_ module that I could perform this task with FC3, BS2, Su-25T etc. Might have only been necessary for the Su-25T ?? Anyway, once I uninstalled the training material, I was then able to run Update DCS World without a hitch, and subsequently install the MIG release too. I noticed that the folder structure is now: ../aircrafts = FW-190D9 , Mi-8MTV2 , Uh-1H (These folders contain various sub folders which are all empty), so this might be as a result of the failed updates? ../aircraft = A-10C , F-86 , Flaming Cliffs , FW-190D9 , Ka-50 , Mi-8MTV2 , MiG-21BIS , P-51D , Su-25T , TF-51D Uh-1H -
DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails.
Bravo020 replied to Mrmaverick's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
OK, after removing all the training files that I had installed (removing them using the uninstall button within the training modules), I was then able to perform an upgrade..... Of course this means having to reinstall the training material again afterwards....however many Gigabytes of data that is to download....AGAIN..... sheesh! -
DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails.
Bravo020 replied to Mrmaverick's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
So from the various threads I can tell, a folder has been renamed from aircraft to aircrafts and this has basically broken everything.. for users with no mods, or strange adaptations to their installation. Unless remapping keys/joysticks is an adaptation....? Feels like quality assurance took a back seat on this one if the installer wasn't tested fully. Never had this with previous updates.... I guess now we need to wait for ED to release another update, and a guide on how we can repair the damage caused by this bugged installer, because as it stands now, my setup isn't working and repair doesn't fix anything and no chance to install the MIG release...... -

DCS Update - 1.2.10.32095.521 Fails. Anyone else getting this error with the Update DCS World? Do you want to update to 1.2.10.32095.521 ? Currently installed version is 1.2.10.30996.495 [update Now!] Verifying... Can't move C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_downloads\Mods/aircraft/SU-25T/Missions/EN/Training/Combat Employment/image.png to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods/aircraft/Su-25T/Missions/EN/Training/Combat Employment/image.png: (2) The system cannot find the file specified. [OK] Not having any success getting past this..... -
Lua setup. It looks as though the configuration of lua has changed somewhat with the more recent DCS releases. The developer journal talks about testing lua connectivity with the listener.lua script, but this file doesn't appear to have made it over to A-10C. Has anyone got any pointers on setting up a connection with luaSockets with A-10C, in particular I'm looking at connectivity between one pc hosting A-10C and another machine that can read/write configuration parmaters??

I also have the same message in the log file but it does not affect the running of my version in anyway. I had assumed that it was an acceptable error message that had no negative consequence in the running of the game in either SP or MP. Regards.

Yet another installer problem... Any suggestions?
Bravo020 replied to Dunkjt74's topic in Bugs and Problems
One other option would be to get your PC to boot in safe mode with networking enabled (firewall will probably be offline, as would any antivirus), but you could see if the download works in that manner, certainly making sure that nothing running on the PC is causing the issue. To install the application you would obviously need to restart the PC so that it would no longer be in safe mode. Regards, -
Do you use stardock?

Yet another installer problem... Any suggestions?
Bravo020 replied to Dunkjt74's topic in Bugs and Problems
Try to download without the download manager, or try to download with a different browser (firefox instead of ie, or visa versa). Alternatively, try to download from a different mirror (there arae 3 available if I recall). The bottom line is, that if the md5 for the setup.exe is not accurate then the file is obviously corrupt in some shape of form. Why that is happening is hard to say, it's something that I have encountered myself in the past, and you can only try and wait it out. Good luck. -
Step 1. Verify the md5's of each file that you have downloaded to make sure that they have been downloaded without error. Not sure what Vista tools are available to generate an md5 hash, but a quick search in google should find you the necessary application to generate an md5 hash. Step 2. After verifying that the md5 for the first file "setup.exe" is correct, and that the md5 for the second file "data1.cab" is correct make sure that both files are named correctly (I seem to recall that when I downloaded the data1.cab file it got renamed somewhere along the way....). Step 3. With both the files setup.exe and data1.cab in the same folder somewhere on your PC (desktop or where-ever), launch setup.exe and follow the installation instructions. Do you still get an error at this point?

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. Currently my settings are such that: Antialiasing is set to application controlled. Anisotropic filtering is also set to application controlled. Is this sufficient, or should they actually be disabled? -

Occassionally, I think 3 times now. Sometimes at various times during the flight, and once just as I touched down on the helipad. Regards. -
DCS Crash during CODA mission 12 of Deployent campaign.
Bravo020 posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi Dev/Support, Attached is a crash file DCS-20090223-102527.crash.txt generated whilst attacking the buildings in the deployment campaign mission 12 (CODA). PC Configuration is as follows: Intel P4 3.4Ghz, ASUS P4C800-E-Deluxe motherboard, 2GB RAM, WinXP SP3 and all the latest MS patches installed, Graphics Card is an nVidia enabled Gainward BLISS 7800GS+ AGP card with 512MB, with nVidia driver version 181.22. TrackIR 4.1 Build 36 with latest game updates already applied, and a ThrustMast Cougar (no mods) with the latest driver (that I am aware of) and firmware 3.06. Soundcard is a SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro with latest drivers, and DirectX is 9.0c with the screen resolution at 1680x1050. There was no error message displayed in windows, one minute I was in game, then the next moment I was looking at a blank score screen and the attached crash file was present in the temp folder. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you require any additional information or files (I have retained a backup copy of the /temp folder should you require any additional data. Regards, -
Do any of the errors messages state that the issue is related to the starforce protection system or is it just a guess that that might be the cause?
-
No problem. It does look as though the documentation is incorrect with regards to the discussion of sample pilot images being available on page 9 of the GUI Manual, and looks more likely that this feature which was present within LockOn/FC was dropped (or forgotten) for Black Shark, but the documentation was never updated accordingly. Regards.
-
The pilot icon is located in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\BlackShark\themes\main\images\pilot-1.png Just place your own files where you want, then to use a custom .jpg, .jpeg or .png just click on the pilot icon from within the logbook and browse to where you have placed the new file to select it. Regards,

New Matt Wagner interview at simmoders!!!
Bravo020 replied to jctrnacty's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
A bigger address space is available (although Windows does not provide access to the full 2^64). -
On a UK keyboard I have to press the "#" key whereas the "\" key serves no purpose from what I am able to tell.
-
Sorry, didn't realise that you couldn't access it from within the GUI, I have no idea what your issue is, I can see a "Logbook" entry on the BS main menu (single player not multiplayer) between the Editor and Options icons. What icons do you have available on the single player menu?
-
You would need to include LuaX or something similar to communicate over the COM ports. http://kotisivu.dnainternet.net/askok/luax/ Regards.
-
I think that this is possibly now located at C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\BlackShark\data\scripts\Logbook and data is stored within Players.lua Regards.
-
Hi Skippy, I just have to say that your work on the G15 / LockOn mod is great!! and has been the inspiration for my starting to write a similar tool for Black Shark. I currently have a basic console application written in Visual C++ that acts as a TCP socket server and receives the data pushed from Black Shark and in turn parses that data so that it can be assigned to different variables. In due course I will then include the G15 SDK into the project so that various pages can be defined and the variables stored in a number of different ways, and perhaps look at provide a configuration page to better deal with customisation as required. The issue that appears to be apparent is that not all of the objects that are exportable from LockOn via export.lua are available within DCS and looks as though this area of the product was not complete at the time that the product was released. Hopefully this will be better addressed upon the release of the next patch release. Regards, Bravo020.
