  1. Varjo VR-2 Pro is out: https://varjo.com/products/vr-2-pro/ "These are unedited pictures shot through Vive Pro and Varjo when using the DCS World simulator." I hope multi-CPU/GPU support comes to DCS sooner to take advantage of modern cloud game servers.
  2. Wasn't that the speed of light? :)
  3. 5G is about to reduce latency.
  4. (Near) future is like "Augmented Reality <-> 5G <-> AI / Cloud Computing". Softwares run on powerful multiple(+100) CPUs/multiple (accelerated) GPUs on servers (cloud) and send data over wideband 5G to our virtual reality headsets (edge clients). That's why it is important to redesign old softwares to leverage the architecture.
  5. How Much Would You Pay For 20/20 Vision In VR? https://www.forbes.com/sites/solrogers/2019/06/25/how-much-would-you-pay-for-2020-vision-in-vr More than that, I would pay for new (ground up) design for DCS engine to have smooth experience it VR. I hope DCS gets more optimization, not compromise :)
  6. It's a lame excuse that physics/math simulator can not leverage multi-tasking, there are lots of independent operation in an frame that can be done in parallel. The big barrier is to redesign and re-architecture (from ground up) something that was started 30 years ago. This is what new Microsoft Flight Simulator is doing: :)
  7. As VR is getting its real place, I was wondering if ED is also planning to make DCS more VR friendly, like: 1) Standard Systems Modeling (SSM) Cockpits to be clickable. 2) Right click on mouse to bring some action items (like F1, F2, ... F10 view), or even adding custom commands like on/off gears ... 3) Optimization (multi-CPU/GPU) support to give the smoothest experience in VR

I wish they also absorb ::UNIGINE :)

    VR IMPROVEMENTS

I was wondering if these improvements are limited to VR and specific maps, or they are more generic and relevant to the core sim engine. It's been 30 years and so much has been changed, CPU technology grows horizontally (number of cores) rather than vertically (CPU speed), multiple GPUs, VR has been added (which is a big game changer), and so on.

  11. Like Professional Flight Model (PFM), I was wondering if we could get Professional Damage Model (PDM) for DCS modules. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/505/ As DCS World is a vehicle level simulator, we need more processing power and I hope we get the most realistic (physics/graphic), most optimized (multi-threaded) engine for DCS 3.0 :)
  12. I also wish with MAC product line, we get rid of confusing game options in DCS product line.
  13. Basically I'm a big fan/supporter for every vehicle (Ship, Submarine, Tank, 747 ...) in DCS level, and I wish with MAC product line, we get rid of confusing game options in DCS product line. DCS: F-15C Eagle / DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle are big plus :)
  14. About 7 years ago I had the same discussion about using all cores (multi CPU/GPU engine), but some people had the argue that it would need a complete rewrite of simulation engine and it might take several years, and by the time that it is done we would not even have PC ...! As of today we still have PC, and with new technologies like VR there is even more demand for optimization and utilizing every single bit of hardware. Back then ED had 55 employees, now that they have 120 it seems it is a possibility. as we need our DCS forever :) I hope by 2020 ED finish the acquisition of UNIGINE (another Russian company) and integrate the simulation engine, the most realistic, most optimized engine ever :)
