sirrah's post in F-16 Pilot model in the way of controls was marked as the answer
For that pretty occasional moment that you need to access the side panel controls during flight, what (I suspect most) players do, is assign a hotas control to switching the body on and off.

Thanks mate!
I'll give it a go as soon as life allows me to

sirrah's post in Being able to air-refuel in any position and realistic effects in the basket. was marked as the answer
ED has been working (or indicated that the work is planned) on improved/realistic AAR drogue physics.
(I think it's safe to assume that includes proper damage modeling and wind/turbulence effects)

sirrah's post in bug with autostart was marked as the answer
Not that it's a big deal but, although I personally hardly ever use the autostart function, for those who do use it this doesn't really make sense imho.
I'd expect the autostart assist, to get the aircraft "taxi ready"
But that's just my opinion.

sirrah's post in Problem starting the right engine since the last hot fix patch. was marked as the answer
I saw a similar report on the new Stone Sky campaign sub forum, with this "temporary" solution:
Please try the following: after starting engine 1, throttle it up to flight mode from idle.
Then start engine 2. It should start OK.
(Haven't been able to test/try for myself yet)
I'm sure ED will fix the issue soon.

sirrah's post in Viper was marked as the answer
Welcome to the forum @D.0.A.
Well, both can do both AG and AA (with a slight variation in loadouts), but that's pretty much where the similarities stop. With main differences:
Viper land based, Hornet allows for carrier OPS (obviously) Viper exceeds in speed/acceleration, Hornet exceeds in turn rate
About buying or not, it really has nothing to do with being religious or not. Here, let me make it easy for you 😌:
If you use your mind, you wait for the next sale (never really far away) If you let your heart speak and don't bother about the few extra $, you buy now -

We need a bit more info in order to help you.
Some screenshots or, even better, a track file, would help.
As for guides, the Apache module comes with a guide. But you can also just Google for: "DCS Apache manual"
Also, there's Chucks Guide here:
(Which is very beginner friendly)

sirrah's post in UI Overlay was marked as the answer
Not sure, but could it be that you have "game mode" enabled in the DCS options? If so, try disabling that.
(By the way: You shouldn't use game mode for the Apache at the moment, as that's not yet properly implemented)

sirrah's post in white noise in radios after cold start was marked as the answer
The squelch buttons do work, at least they do on my end (latest OB). Make sure to flip them all (up) and the noise is gone.

sirrah's post in Boresight twice? was marked as the answer
So just to be clear: You already boresighted while in the CPG seat? (PLT and CPG both need to boresight individually)
You should be able to boresight as much and often as you like. The option won't disappear. What I think happens in your case, is that you have the Hellfires WAS'ed (selected) when you want to do the boresight. You'll need to deselect any weapons in order to get the boresight option.
But I'm just assuming here.. Without a track file, we can only guess whats going on 😉

sirrah's post in How to order your AI wingman? was marked as the answer
I'm under the impression that something is bugged on that part. In one of my missions I tried to set my flight's freq in the ME, but somehow, when in the aircraft, it wasn't set to that frequency. Didn't yet take the time to fully investigate and report though..
Just try 127.500 and see if that works

sirrah's post in How to better search for missions? was marked as the answer
Unfortunately it's still not possible to filter on maps (or multiple modules for all that matter). A big flaw imo, for a sim resting so heavily on user input/missions.
For instance, at the moment it's next to impossible to easily search for a mission in Syria, containing the Supercarrier module and the Tomcat
I asked for better filter options multiple times (both here on the forum as via a support ticket), but I guess only very few people care about this, as my requests got very little interest/replies from the community.
(I know having more filter options would require mission editors/uploaders to fill in all these modules, but imo this could easily be done with something like a checkbox functionality)
