F-16 Pilot model in the way of controls

is there a way to only show the pilots legs, maybe a Mod or something i can edit.

the pilot looks awesome except the upper body gets in the way of the control so i can't toggle or switch them.

The only thing I can think of is if you perhaps make the texture transparent, if that even works. Otherwise no, it will be either on or off.

For that pretty occasional moment that you need to access the side panel controls during flight, what (I suspect most) players do, is assign a hotas control to switching the body on and off.

I looked for that mapping in the f16 but did not find it. Do you know what it’s called?

Hm, not at my pc right now, but it should be called "pilot body" something.

 

(Might also want to check under UI layer controls. It might have moved over there, to have it work for all modules)

If you know the keybinding to toggle it on/off, you can just press that and it will jump to the correct place.

Did you not read my response??? I don’t know the key binding or what its description is?  If you’re saying there is already a binding then please let me know what that is?  All I know now is how to turn it on/ off in options menu

Did you search for "Pilot" or "Body"?

Anyway, it's RShift+P.

If you approach the controls from the main DCS menu, also make sure you have the F-16CM selected

Would be great if the arms move out of the way when you look at the side panels, just like a real pilot would do.

Yes, or as I was thinking, the model could fade to fully transparent in a radius around the cursor. That would be easier to implement, but I won't be holding my breath that either get implemented.

For me it´s joy modified + first trigger detent.

I can´t understand why so many players decide to keep the body off.

Indeed. I fly in VR so it´s easier to fly with the pilot body of course, but nevertheless when needed with just one HOTAS button press and the pilot body it´s out of my view. Non issue for me and can´t fly without the pilot body, not only for immersion but it´s useful: with a glance to my left leg i can see my charts/checklist with the not-so-new 3D kneeboard without using the kneeboard pop-up and i use a HOTAS button to change pages, works like a charm especially when need to check frequencies or flight data.

+1 on this, I fly with the pilot body off because I don't like switching on / off all the time. But it looks better and more realistic with the body in place.
