No, thank you.

Would selecting zoom view under the category of axis commands work?
-
By mouse wheel you mean the smaller black wheel you can't see? I will try and set up the trim to the two bigger wheels and the boat to the mouse if that is the case. Good suggestion. I'll check my USB ports but I believe I have a mix. Thanks for the heads up. Thanks for reminding me, can I set the small slider on the throttle to zoom? No TrackIR for me unfortunately. Many thanks so far, Chris

I may be getting ahead of myself here about the x52 Pro I just ordered but I have a few questions you all can hopefully answer that I couldn't find answers either in the manual or elsewhere. I ordered the unit a few days ago and waiting but anticipate these questions will slow me down when I get it. I'll be transitioning from a Cyborg X to the x52 Pro and plan to use the SST program supplied with the unit. With that said I spent some time compiling my wishlist for the commands I plan on feeding into the program but don't know the following: 1) How do I load the profile for use in the sim? (A10c specifically). In other words, if I "activate it" before opening DCS: World, how do I make it functional in the sim? 2) Can I assign the mouse to slew or POV view, likewise its "left click button" to view centered? If so, how? 3) Can I assign the scroll wheel (smaller black one with invisible clicker) as the same function as the mouse wheel? 4) Can I assign the boat switch to a scroll wheel and its "center" position as the button within the wheel? That should take care of the questions for now. Many thanks, Chris

Since I don't have trackir or a number keypad on my laptop (which the zoom is assigned to by default), I reassigned it to another empty key which did not work. I also tried to reassign zoom to an empty button on my control stick which also did not work.
-
Thats the catch, I'm running a laptop without those keys. I reassigned them to other buttons as well as to my control stick...all with no luck. I didn't have these issues with my standalone A10 or BS. Other than those suggested, any other ideas?
-
Seems peculiar but I'll give it a shot tonight. Is this a normal / known issue? As for trackir, I dont have it. I've got a very basic setup at home with only a control stick throttle combo (Cyborg X). Ill check the axes though. Any other input is still welcome.

Any idea why zoom is not functioning within the new update for me? The opening sequence into training for the Huey zooms out (slowly by itself, by design), I can pan around the cockpit but can't zoom in or out to the required panels to start up the chopper. Any ideas?

Its been a while since I've gotten in the sim and my first experience with dcs world (I used BS and A10 previously). With that said, I tried assigning zoom in and out to my cyborg x but it wont function in the sim. I also tried assigning simple keys on the keyboard to zoom with no luck. Is there something obvious I'm missing or is there something wrong? Thanks, Chris

Good suggestions everyone. Thank you

Thank you much for the vid. You confirmed my suspicions that the hunt is a lot harder than it might seem. At least with a tiny LCD screen to peer through. It's disconcerting to hear constant radio chatter calling out targets from your wingman and not being able to find anything. Does anyone else have suggestions?

My experience so far with DCS has been complicated, but rewarding for the most part. If I were to pick what path DCS would travel in the future after finishing up the P-51 (and whatever else they may have brewing), I'd push them towards the F-4 Phantom II, preferably the E variant. I have my reasons why it might be a good approach for DCS but some of them include a jet fighter variant from an era not recognized by DCS as of yet. Also, the option to open up carrier options would be a logical next step. Lastly, the F4 has to my knowledge a large amount of information and existing planes floating about for reference, cross reference, etc. Oh and its one sexy airframe. What path would you choose?

I've gone through all of the tutorials and while Im not an ace by any means, I can hit targets in the tutorial sections. So I have a couple questions: 1: Missions in general, how do you actually locate targets? 2: How do I get to line of site for TGP/MAV. I ask this because when I slave sensors to ..... the HUD/steerpoint (as in the tutorial) with the V key, sometimes the steerpoint is in the mid air and I have to slew down to a vast nothingness. Thank you, Chris

Ok the able/stow issue was what was wrong with ILS so thank you. Also the flt pth is present when I set everything up and using the divert option is what makes it disappear. How do I get the flight path back?
-
Might it be from doing function 2 then divert to find an airfield? That's the only way I can find airfield info.
-
Thanks merijn. I'll check tomorrow to see if the switch was in stowed position. About the only thing I didn't fumble with. As for flight path, the dial down near the ILS panel on the right, correct? I always set that to flt pth but still no luck. Any other ideas?
-
Forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology but I'll try my best. When going to to a port with ILS, I can set up ILS receiver to correct freq, turn the power on and select ILS on the lower center control panel. For whatever reason when following ATC's directions, the glide slope and heading needle never line up. What am I doing wrong? Also, when starting up on my own and using the TAD screen, everything shows up but the green bar connecting the waypoints (flight path?). How do I get that to show up? Thank you, Chris

Where can I practice inflight refueling?

Come again? iPhone app perhaps? What is called?

Still no go. It looks like they layered too many options on that switch to be able to use just a laptop mouse. Bummer I plugged my mouse in and it works as promised. Are there any applications available that can act as a mouse wheel on a laptop touch pad?

Its a laptop. With that said, the digits before the decimal work. Don't know why the scroll option isn't available after the decimal point. Any other ideas? Also, my wings are transparent to the point I can see the pylons and flaps through the wings. Any ideas on that as well?
-
I'm learning the ropes here and everyone has been quick to respond. Which I appreciate. With that said, in navigating, I tried to dial the numbers after the decimal point but could only adjust the volume. The numbers before the decimal point are OK with the scroll function but I can't proceed with the training until I dial the number to .3. Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing? Is there another way to set the ILS?

Ok. Thanks for the heads up on the bit info. I tried last year and had to download both directx and c++ to make it work. Ill give it a shot. Thanks

So I've finally got my rig, an Alienware with 3rd gen i7, the 650m and 6 gigs of ram. I downloaded 1.1.1.1 so I can train with the use of voices and have a couple questions. I understand the installer is supposed to recognize if my system is 64 or 32 bit, but it appears to want to install in the 32 bit program file section. I am uneducated to the ways of computers, but doesn't program files x86 mean 64 bit? A10 wants to install straight to the normal program files section? What do I do to install the 64 bit? Also, I tried to download C++ to make sure everything is squared away but it just tried to repair the existing version. Does that mean everything with C++ will work here? Also x2, the directx wants to know where to extract to. I didn't download and save, I simply clicked run. What do I do? Thank you, Chris
