I was looking for some F-86 stuff when I stumbled across an instructional\familiarization video for the Naval\Marine version of the F-86 E&F, the FJ2 Fury. In it pilots are warned to go easy on the rudder during firing to avoid skidding off the target and that the aircraft requires very little rudder. They start to talk about the rudder at about 8:09 in the video. Apologies if this has already been posted.

The kneeboard is very good UTIRVIK. A Taxi & Take-off checklist (and maybe a kneeboard version too ) would be very much appreciated. Thanks for making these. P.S. Your English is very good.

GGM, it only needed the tiniest of tweaking in the options (inverting the wheel brake controls) to get it up and running fully....which took all of 2 seconds! Apart from that it's working beautifully and I can now rest my right foot on the toe brake without worrying about skidding off the right hand side of the runway. GGM\JAR thank you again for you help and input.

Thanks for making this GGM, I've downloaded it and will test it out tomorrow. Looking at the screenshot, it looks different compared to JAR's video. Will be interesting to see if there's any difference between the 2. Thanks again, your input and help is very much appreciated.

As suspected it was the weather that was causing my drift. Tried it without the weather and had no drift at all.

Thanks for the help guys, it is very much appreciated! JAR, I bought the pedals 2nd hand from a friend and he advised me that I didn't need the CH Control Manager. Anyway, I've downloaded it and followed the instructions on the video and the wheel brakes now works a treat. Unfortunately it wiped out my rudder as a result but with a bit of tweaking, fist shaking, threatening the pc etc. I think I've got it up and running and working properly. Just found a problem with the rudder, after take off the HUD goes off the right side of the screen. Does this mean my rudder isn't calibrated\setup properly or does it mean I just need to setup the yaw trim properly? Or thinking about it, could be weather conditions...I'll keep testing I think.

Thanks GGM it'd be appreciated. Does that mean when I press the left CH toe brake, it will also simulate pressing the right toe brake...effectively pressing them both wheel brakes together at the same time?

I've got a minor problem with my CH pedals and the toe brakes. I've currently got them set up for wheel braking left & right and they're working perfectly. The problem is...I'm disabled and as such I don't realise I'm pressing down on the right toe brake. I need to assign the left toe brake to wheel brakes (W key) and leave the right toe brake clear. Unfortunately, in the axis controls the wheel brake option is greyed out for my CH pedals and as such I can only assign seperate wheel brakes. Is there any way I can assign the wheel brakes to just my left CH pedal toe brake? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Job's a good 'un! that's exactly what I needed. I like how it displays the same information on the right MFD...saves me having to look down all the time. Thanks for the help guys.

Sorry about this but I'm having a little bother with taxying. In the manual it states that I should be taxying at a speed between 15 and 25 knots. Unfortunately I cannot see where my ground speed is displayed. It doesn't appear on the HUD and the standby ASI is not very good at low speeds. Where should I be looking or is there something I'm missing during the startup procedure?

Keyboard layout (not list but proper layout)

Those and Microprose titles. Oh and computer magazines would sometimes also have a cutout keyboard overlay in them too. ckount, thanks for making this, it's very much appreciated. -
Steam Key w/ DCS a-10c download from DCS site?

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. -
MB, 1st off thank you for making this guide. I have a huge favour to ask of you though...sorry. I've downloaded your guide to my Kindle (no printer I'm afraid) but it only displays in greyscale. Is there any chance you could make the grey font colour for Locs & PNLs under each step darker (or even black would be better for my Kindle) as I cannot read it? Cheerfully withdrawing my request. I went out and bought a printer...saves me squinting at the kindle! :smilewink:

To be honest with you, I've never been able to update any steam game manually. The version it was showing on my pc was 1.1.0, so I assumed it was out of date and downloaded the DCS version. -

Warthogger, with my steam version still installed all I did was download the DCS 1.1.0.9 installer files and install them in a separate directory. I then deleted my steam version from within the steam library. -

DM, it works a treat! I've downloaded and installed from the DCS site. The game even recognised the fact my key was already installed. No more out of date game...result! -
Steam Key w/ DCS a-10c download from DCS site?

Well I've played Falcon 4:AF and the SSTSIM Concorde (amongst others) for FS9 so I think I've got a good foundation for complex sims. But only time will tell. I remember someone making a rather good rampstart guide exe program for Falcon 4 so you could practice ramp starts without going into the sim itself. Is there anything similar for A-10? -

Great stuff Viper, TBH I'd rather have a non steam version if possible. Steam always seem to be slow with patches for certain games for some reason. I'll download the DCS version now methinks. Thanks for your help and the welcome. A mate warned me it was a tough simulation to get into, but I'm up for the challenge. I told him that I had mastered Blue Max on the C64 so how hard can it be? :pilotfly: -

Aww rats! I wish I had read this before I installed the steam version! Does anyone know if it's possible to have the steam and the 1.09 DCS download on the same PC. Or even uninstall the steam version and then run the 1.09 DCS download version?
