  1. Hi, Some of the multi-player mussions (don't remeber the names of the missions) are pretty much full with SAMs that need to be taken out. Is it really the case in real world scenario that they would send in A-10s to clear the area from SAMs? Sounds more like a job for something like an F-16?!
  2. But isn't the point of a CAS mission to get directions from JTAC?? In case of advancing units they should request assistance?!
  3. Hi, I recently tried to actively use JTAC on CAS missions where you have let's say two friendly units waiting for the order to get moving. Now the issue is that JTAC assigns me targets way off they route of the friendly units Im suppose to support! Actually I dropped all my load (due to JTAC request) on tanks that were not in their path. The other thing is. When do you guys usually give those units in such type of CAS missions the GO to advance? Do you clear out everything and the give green light or do you do that when you reached the area and while they are moving you clear their way?
  4. Its not about credit - but it would be nice to know how many time I spent online, how many AG, AA kils, etc....
  5. Hi, Do you guys know if there is any way to track stats (kills, time, etc.) when on Multiplayer? It is a little bit annoying not to know anything about performance :smilewink:

    Pitty...

GoinglyUgly seems to be the right spot. However, most of the time it does not make sense to play there as people are not on TeamSpeak and also don't really care and just go alone.... In general there are not many servers around... thats right...
  7. Thanks! Great Link!
  8. I'm wondering how real-world attack patterns look like. In many CAS missions of the campaign you usually encounter some tank units and some air defenses near them. I normally overload my plane with 6 AGMs and as many GBUs I can carry (sometimes CBUs which are pretty lame against tanks as CBU-97 and 105 are not not modelled correctly). Due to the heavy weight I take only 50% fuel (or less) which results in 100%-105% overweight and difficult handling of the plane. Fuel is in most campaign missions not an issue. What I usually do is to call for SEAD while on approach. While F-16s take care about threats, I circle from a safe distance and height trying to spot and mark as many targets a possible. Then I switch to mark points view and start to take out remaining close air defense units that make the impression of a threat. After AGMs are used up the plane is safer/easier to control (lower weight) and I make runs with GBUs from a relatively high altitude (15k and above). Release bomb turn away, circle in safe distance and altitude, aquire next target, approach, next drop and so on and so forth. Basically I do everything from high altitude and safe distance which allows me to take out a whole bunch of units without even getting close to danger. Going in low with MK-82s or CBUs I just do for fun. Im wondering why even getting close to targets with all that fancy weapon systems. I did some reading and as far as I understand before having those weapon systems such as in the Vietnam war the pilot had to go in low for CAS missions to visually spot targets and confirm friendly positions. Further, the "available daily weapons" of that time were "dumber" and needed to be droped from a lower alitude to be more precise. Anyone has some materials on this topic?
  9. Thanks - was looking for exactly something like that!
  10. Hi, After approx. 20hours of getting familiar with A-10 I started to test multiplayer and found myself asking the question of how do I mark targets (via TGP for instance) and send those targets/markpoints to other allies? For instance: What I'm thinking about is to circle the target area using the TGP from a save distance. Once a target has been spotted I would like to mark the point and continue to search. Next I would like to send the spotted targets/marks to other team mates. Is there any tutorial out there? Is it possible at all? This is also interesting in single player. How do I tell my wingman to attack a specific target?
  11. Just for the record if someone reads this thread - IT WORKS NOW!! I uninstalled everything (FreeTrack, FaceTrackNOIR and A-10) and reinstalled everything again. As mentioned in several other Threads. It found it only works if both FaceTrackIR and A-10 are stared as Administrator (Run As Administrator) - even if the user is an Administrator for some reason.
  12. Hi, Yes, Facetracking works! Tried that one too. Actually also read somewhere to try CTRL + ALT + X and CTRL + ALT + Z Tried that too - no luck! I though about reinstalling everything ... maybe that helps
  13. Is there anyway to debug FaceTrackNoIR? I'm having troubles for a while now to get it running and tried everything except reinstalling A10. (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78747) I would be helpful to have a debug mode that writes some messages into the log file located at C:\FTNoIR_ED_HeadTrackerLog.txt.
  14. Hi, I posted earlier my issue here and was pointed to this thread (so sorry for cross-posting) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78747 I also have Vista x64. Is it possible that it is in general a x64 problem altough I'm using the 64bit DLLs? Maybe I build a Infrared LED light and give FreeTrack a try?!
  15. Hi, I read and tried so much on this topic but I simply can not get it working. What I tried so far: Downloaded and installed FaceTrackNoIR 1.5 Downloaded Eagle Dynamics API DLL 64bit and placed it under DCS A-10C\bin\headtracker\HeadTracker.dll FaceTrackNoIR Settings: Load Profile DCS_A10C.ini Tracker Source=Face API Game Protocol=Freetrack (also tried it with Fake TrackIR) I start the game but the head tracking simply does not work. FaceTrackNoIR recognizes my head movements but in-game it does not work. The DLL generates, as describe in the documentation, following file: C:\FTNoIR_ED_HeadTrackerLog.txt initHeadTracker was called! FileMapping was created :-). requestHeadTrackerData was called (bYaw,bPitch,bRoll,bX,bY,bZ) = (1,1,1,1,1,1). I also verified following setting in input.lua: NewInput.setHeadTrackerDllPath('./bin/headtracker/headtracker.dll') Has anyone an idea what else I could try or look into?
