  1. Situation : insurgents have penetrated a small town near the border and now the town is occupied by them. This is a beginning of hostilities and we (allies) cannot allow this. So, i have 6 transportheli's ready to drop infantry near the town and clean the place out ! Intelligence however is telling us that they brought plenty of AA-guns on trucks to change our mind. So, before dropping troops I'm going in with a two ship A-10 and 3 AH-64D to eliminate the AA-treat. Overkill...maybe but this isn't the issue here ! There is a little fog, however but we must move now !! The attackheli's are told in the ME to SEARCH AND ENGAGE IN ZONE to attack AA and INF. When they arrive there, they turn and go home without doing anything. QUESTION : is it normal IRL that with all the high-tech equipement and targetdesignators (thermo, infrared, etc.) on board of these state-of-the-art heli's they can't find 8 or more AA-guns in and outside the town because of A LITTLE FOG ? I'm wondering...because i've tried it without a little fog and it works fine !!

  6. Thats a good way of optaining the goal...only...I am confused about the altitude...do i pick MSL or AGL to set the alt ?? Some AI heli's won't go this low (i.e. transport) but others does (AH...) ? Am i missing something ?

  8. Helicopters must be able to land in the theater other than airbases. I think SAR, deployment of troops, deployment of material, etc. Thanks !

  17. So, Wildfire, having played many strategy games and read a lot of info about it, the template that is inserted does match my view but not yours. But, i think that your a man who was in the field, so i let you be the judge of it (if you have time of course). Look at the miz and tell me what you think. Bear in mind : it is under construction !!   20. Wildfire...Speed...thanks for thinking this trough with me... but Speed's thinking is much complicater than Wildfire's point of view. So...i will read Speed's answer again for...let's say...5 times before i will post a reply...thanks for the mindbuilding thing. Come see this again !

Hi all, Looking at the theatermap op DCS-a10, it would be reasonable to imagine that when building a template-mission (by that i mean a mission that contains the air-, naval and ground defenses that are always needed and then start from there to build several A-10 missons) one should start from a certain position with certain assumptions which are : Georgia and South-Ossetia are close to being attacked by insurgents en Russian air-, naval and groundforces. So the allies are building up forces in these two countries and protect the airbases, airspace and all the naval movements. I mean building up forces like this was the case in Irak and Afghanistan. Is this the way most of the community is thinking while building MP missions ? I do not see myself building an allied base at Mozdok of Maykop or taking off from those airbases because in my thinking that is enemy territory. I could be very wrong here in my thinking and yes...it is maybe not simple to follow all of the above. Bear with me for an instance !! Why do we not have a port to deliver ground vehicles and troops ??? My question : how do you guys see this ?
