  1. I agree with you 100%. I've read to many times in the past that PC users just don't buy Sims and when they do, the sales are low. When I look at the products that are being released (like the new JANES title), it's no wonder that Sims are not being bought. They make what they think we want. But when a company like this one actually takes the time to do a real Sim, I'm both shocked and impressed. Seems JANES thinks PC Simmers like the "Arcade" junk. This company knows we don't and that's because we let them know what we like. As for a "Wish list" of add-ons, I'd like a single player career mode that allows the pilot to age, work up the ranks and earn both Ribbons and Medals based on career performance as well as mission performance and a screen showing the pilot in full dress uniform with decorations, BUT, that's just me :pilotfly:
  2. This Sim may be quality but I always find BEST BUY far from the Best Buy.
  3. At least it can be updated to the current version.
  4. Only depends on which side of the war you're on :pilotfly:
  5. Wish list?? Now that sounds like a great idea
  6. Great to know. Sad news is that my fuel pump just quit on me and I'll have to have it replaced. Put I'm glad Amazon has this Sim now. I hope to get it as soon as I can.
  7. As far as Sub-Sims go, SHIII was the best. SHIV looked better but they got the US Navy all wrong.
  8. And the Nevada Expansion should follow shortly afterwards :pilotfly:
  9. I'm guessing, with a manual that is over 300 pages, you will probably stand a better chance of printing it yourself then seeing it in the box:book:
  10. As much as I loved the past JANES Sims, this one will be skipped by me.:pilotfly:
  11. That sounds like a valid possibility. Seems the "industry" likes to produce Arcade sims designed for consoles and then they wonder why Simmers (us), don't buy them. This causes distributors to think that Simulations are a risky venture, when all we want are quality Sims like A-10c Warthog. A fine example would be the up-and-coming new JANES titles for the PC (and XBox360 and PS3), "Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters ", very disappointing.
  12. Is this something that should be fixed by the time the PC DVD is released?
  13. I've even noticed EA seems to port to Console before the PC now and even some of their Sports titles are not even available for PC. Personally, I'd like to see a good Boxing game with the Boxing legends but all I see now is wrestlng. As for Sims, I think it's time for another STEALTH sim. F-19, F-117a Stealth Fighter was great.
  14. It seems that ever since the Consoles became popular, all the stores jumped on that band wagon and started dropping PC titles, just to make room for the Console games. Even Wal-Mart is shrinking the PC section.
  15. I went back to Game-Stop yesterday to check on the DVD set and I was told that since they do not shows A-10 Warthog on their "Pre-Order" list, that it means that Game-Stop will most likely not carry this title. And they wonder why they are losing the PC gamers. Simple, if they won't sell what PC gamers want, they wont shop there.
  16. Yes, I too am patiently waiting for this info. I am sure it will be out before Christmas (I hope).
  17. Almost ready Wow: Price: $39.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping. Temporarily out of stock.
  18. Already do  :D
  19. I understand your point and I agree that the extra money they save should go into development but for those companies (like DCS), that sell both DD and boxed sets, I still have a problem paying the same amount for both. With other companies as an example, in one hand I'd have a box, DVD and Manual. In the other hand I have Data on my Hard Drive and the option to burn my own copy with my own DVD Burner and Disk. At time of purchase, I do not decide based on sympathy, thinking which I should buy that would allow the company more profit that might go back into development. I compare my choices and consider what I'll really get for my money. Physical items in hand will always beat out virtual items, especially when I am expected to buy DVD-Rs and take the time to burn them and hope it's a good burn. Yes, I loved those manuals that discussed more than just how to play the Sim. Loved reading the history and checking out all the pics. For this Sim, I'll accept the PDF file, only because no company is going to print a 700+ page manual just for a Sim.
  20. Nice to know I'm not the only one left that still likes what I like and willing to wait for it. As for the online thing, sorry, I've never been big on online gaming. I think X-Wing was the 1st time I tried it, then it was some F-15 Sim but just could not get hooked. I've even tried Americas Army 2 & 3 but I only seem to enjoy the training courses, LOL :joystick:
  21. Well, I'm glad you at least got to read my thanks for posting the link.
  22. Why did the mass majority of my prior comment get cut down to what little there is now, just seconds after I posted it and it does not even end with a period.
  23. I believe this is very possible, especially since companies are selecting DD as their preferred method of distribution. I can only guess that this is due to a higher profit margin and when the switch is 100%, there will be less to spend
  24. You sure seem to like to make assumptions as well as be argumentative. I read the rumor before I ever signed on to this site. Why do you think I came her and asked the question?
