Found a used HTC vive with 2 base stations and controls for 70€ in town. Are the base stations and controls compatible with BSB?
-
Either way, I think it will be an upgrade to a Quest Pro. DP connected, higher resolution, OLED and really lightweight.
-
I pulled the trigger and ordered a B2Be. I really like what this company is trying to do. I cross my fingers and hope they will support DFR.
-
I’m really tempted to order a BSB2 with eye tracking. Doubt that there will be a better PCVR alternative in a couple of years for simmers. Specially when You consider the weight and form factor. Sure the Crystal super has impressive specifications but it looks like a piece of hardware from the 80’s compared to BSB2.

I recommend to use virtual desktop and quad views.
-
I think foveated rendering is a big advantage in DCS. I run my Quest Pro on a 4090 and this makes a big difference. It makes the center really clear with some supersampling in the centre of eye tracking. BSB2e should be a winner if foveated rendering is implemented with DCS. The OLED panels, form factor and eye tracking, hard to beat. The resolution should be enough if the lenses are as good as in my Quest PRO. And it’s a quite big resolution bump compared to a Quest Pro. Had planned to buy Pimax super, but now I will wait for some reviews.

This one looks pretty promising. The e version comes with eye tracking. Maybe an upgrade from Quest Pro.

I have the exact same experience in quest pro. Outside 2.5 miles I’m blind. If I disable Quad views the dots are back.
-
The spotting is the worse then ever in the latest update. There’s is not a smallest dot outside 2 miles in my quest pro with quad views. I think this is ridiculous and it’s a shame when the sim is running really smooth right now. Any air to air combat is impossible in this state.

Have the exactly same problems, it ruins the experience
-
It’s a known issue in v69. Turn off hand tracking seems to solve the problem. I did that last week and that has worked since then. v71 seems to have solved that issue but introduced other problems.

Had to reinstall DCS after some hardware problems and now I can’t get openxr toolkit to run with VD and quad views. When DCS launches my quest pro turns black. If I disable openxr toolkit it works fine but I would like to use turbo mode which made DCS run super smooth before. I have tried to start the toolkit in safe mode. In which order should You install VD, toolkit and quad views?

Meta acknowledges bug with OpenXR API layers in v68

Also moved to VD, DCS is now running fantastic, steady 72 fps on Quest Pro. -
This with a DP port would be nice: https://www.uploadvr.com/play-for-dream-mr-xr2-plus-gen-2-headset/

I inverted the y axis in FFB settings in DCS and the trim works
-
I have a strange behavior of the F4 trim with the VP force FFB joystick. In all other aircraft the stick move with the trim. I can achieve this with a special setting in the VP force software “hardware force trim” but it shouldn’t be necessary with a FFB module in DCS? I have enabled “force feedback” in DCS settings.

DCS crashes when starting in VR (Quest PRO), worked great before updating. Any ideas? Attach the log file. dcs.log

Dynamic Foveated Rendering - Everything in one page

How do You disable the quad view for testing performance ON/OFF? is there a settings to just disable this tool? Have bought a new GPU and want to do some testing. -
Is there any way to measure GPU/CPU frame time when You not are using the toolkit?
-
I notice 30-40% performances gain. I have cranked up the settings and DCS is have never looked better in VR. It’s unbelievable that one guy can make this big difference! Everybody that enjoy this piece of magic software should consider to sponsor this magician with some coffee money.

No, just installed Oculus software and set is OpenXR runtime.

I have now used the QPro for some hours this weekend in DCS. I initially had problems with Link cable, turns out that I only can establish contact with the USB C cable rotated, if I turn it around I lose connection. Very odd... - I run in in 80Hz, 1,4x resolution. Most of the time I can keep 80fps in DCS - The clarity is amazing. The cockpit isn't as clear as in the Reverb G2, but the G2 only had the clarity in a small sweet spot. - The FOV is better, don't feel as goggles anymore - The colors and brightness is great, explosions are fun to watch now As an example of how good the screens is: I got chased by a Mig21 on the cold war server, I could see how the shells dropped from the Mig when he engaged me with the cannon from a couple of hundred meters in the merge! An SAM launched maybe from a kilometer and I actually saw the missile drive into the air, not just the smoke During a dogfight I can easily maintain visual contact now without having to turn the head as much as before, just move the eyes instead.

Got the QPro one day early. Got a bad start, can’t get the link cable (oculus cable) to connect with Oculus app. Updated bios, updated chipset (amd B550 chipset), changed power settings for USB. Not sure more what I can do. Made a quick test with air link and DCS and was that impressed. Sure the clarity and brightness is super but the texts in the F16 was still blurry. I didn’t find any settings in oculus app for display Hz, but DCS reported 72fps. Hope I can get the link cable sorted, else it’s a return.
