Same reason the Ka-50 as stands is allowed : it was already done. It's also a lot more abstracted and based primarily on code from 10-15 years ago, aside from the 3d model and PFM itself.

All bs aside, the Ka-50 was made during much less ''politically tense'' times, when Russia was on semi-good terms with everyone and looking to make a buck wherever they could. In the current environment, the Ka-50 would PROBABLY not be permissible. Either way, it's right on the edge of the 80s/90s cutoff they seem to focus on.

The issue is only partially about the law itself. The REAL issue, is that the bulk of Eagle Dynamics is situated in Russia, meaning they are 100% subject to Russian politics, opinion, and law. If they were located elsewhere, they could pretty much give no sh*ts. For them, being located RIGHT THERE, getting crosswise with the political bodies there could easily result in jail time, persecution, sudden ''tax issues'' etc etc. THAT'S the real problem. It's not ''lack of access to information'' it's ''not wanting to burn bridges you can't easily rebuild from inside a jail cell''.

It's also why 3rd parties located outside Russia have been said to be potential avenues for this stuff, because THEY don't live there, and are somewhat insulated from the politics of it all. ED in that case could potentially fall back on ''we're just a platform''. They've always said THEY can't do one, not that one CAN'T BE DONE period. It's still potentially tricky, but it's a lot easier when the people most likely to be frowned at have an ocean's worth of buffer.

This. ED have said it over and over again. THEY can't, or won't because its "sensitive". But if an outside developer like Deka wants to do a modern Flanker then go right ahead.

  2. It could be the difference in hardware Simon, but I haven't had a single crash in DCS in many hours of using the G2, on 2 different machines (10900k/3090, 9900k/3080). That includes monkeying around with the IPD setting probably hundreds of times, testing out various positions and settings while DCS and several other games are running. I can't explain or account for why, this is just my experience.

Is there much of a difference between 3080 and the 3090 for DCS?

  3. SAM adds about 2 to 5% depending upon some preset parameters. (On average, it is about 2.4%.) In beta DCS as of tonight, the RX 6900 XT is 2.3% faster in VR with the G2 than the 3090. Granted, not much, but then the 6900 XT is likely to be $700 or so cheaper! Even if Nvidia improves their drivers and the 3090 pulls ahead by say, 4%, that is 4% for $700.

Where are you getting these results? If its your own testing can you post more detailed benchmark?

  4.

Is there evidence that aim-120 should not be effected by jammers after pitbull? Not to mention chaff ;)

    If so, show me.

Are you arguing that turning ecm OFF (not on) should 100% kill a missile within pitbull range? Because that is what is happening now in DCS. Even if its not targeted at you. For some reason turning ecm off functions like an emp charge. Its a bug.

RED Changed to one life. that's why i increased the red from 16 to 20.

At 20:00z 12NOV2020 I will open server with name "104th Server EVENT TEST" for mission testing. Feel free to join the test run.

    S!

    We'll try and join tonight

Are you aware of the bug where turning OFF ecm will instantly trash a missile thats within pitbull distances?

  6. 15 to 20% sounds about right...https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-8600K-vs-Intel-Core-i9-10900K/3941vs4071

That link shows a 5% increase in single threaded performance going from 8600k to 10900k when both are overclocked.

  7. According to their sales.

Also he says 90% of their customers are SP only. He almost freaked out a bit when the interviewer suggested ED should prioritise MP instead of SP.

Personally I still think an F15C would sell very well.
