Did it ever work before? When was the last time it worked? What changes were made since the last time it worked? Check to make sure you have the right profile set in the options menu ie. Sim -Mode and make sure the key bindings are set correctly. Make sure you select that profile option before each mission. Also what kind of keyboard are you using? I have the Logitech G15 and it has a switch on the top left that looks like an old Atari joystick. When I move that switch to the right the joystick gets illuminated(indicating Game Mode) and the keyboards Windows keys are disabled. Not sure if that is what your problem is but might want to check that out if you do. Also I noticed on my Saitek X52 Pro I have the small slider on the throttle set to my speed brake. If the speed brake is active I cant use some of my other functions like POV1 and others. I guess it's acting like a modifier at that point. Just make sure no other buttons, sliders or keys on your keyboard are causing an issue or are in a "stuck down" position.

x52 Pro Slop removal recommendations needed
0utLAW replied to 0utLAW's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have seen that, tried it, didn't like it. Thank you though. I was thinking if I could just wedge something between the hand grip and the rod(toothpicks) that might help. I just wanted to see what others have done for this issue before I did anything. -

To X 52 pro or to not X52 pro?
0utLAW replied to KoalaDoraemon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Here is my 2 cents. I am new to flight sims and I recently purchased the pro. I would give it a 3.75 out of 5. While it does have a lot of buttons and looks cool, I think Saitek should listen to their customers and FIX the things that need fixing. If you are new to flight sims and your on a budget I would go with this stick. It's not that big of an investment and should last quite a while(I hope). After a couple of years simming you'll find out what you like and don't like about certain pieces of hardware. I also was using the Logitech Extreme 3d pro. While it has a stiffer feel I have come to like the softer feel of the Saitek. I would like Saitek to fix the following problems; 1. Magnet mod- dead zone 2. The wobbliness between the hand grip and the rod that goes into the base 3. When you dim the MFD on the throttle base the light flickers(annoying at night) 4. Better programming software 5. The PS/2 connection between the stick and the throttle. While I have not had a problem with this(yet), it would be nice to see a connection that clips or screws into place(not USB). These are the reasons why I give this stick the 3.75. While being a good feeling stick with a lot of buttons there is room for improvement. I really like Logitechs products and they seem to be built better than Saitek products(IMO). If I had the extra cash(extra $100) I would have spent the money on this; http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Flight-System-Feedback-Joystick/dp/B002G1YPP2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332534619&sr=8-1 You get everything plus force feedback(If you like that sort of thing) -
New Install Location And Helios

Got it! Thanks a bunch! -
Here is the new setup for my X52 Pro. I have included a jpg for reference, a psd file for your editing pleasure, and a pr0 file for use. I hope you like it. A couple of things to note; 1st I have not set the up the toggle buttons for the Trim(i) or Slew(D). I'm having a little trouble figuring this out(Any help on that one would be appreciated). I would like to be able to hold down the i button while using the POV1 control to adjust trim. Same goes for the slew. Press and hold D + POV1. 2nd The look back© button only looks back when the button is pressed. I would also like this to toggle so I can use the POV1 to look around then hit C again to go back to the cockpit view. I tried setting it as Latched in the SST software but that doesn't seem to be how it is done. Couple of more questions. 1. For those that have this controller what information(I assume radio) do you have displayed on your MFD and how do you go about getting it there? 2. How have you, or others, take out the slop from the stick? I know there have been mods with the magnets and the base but I'm talking about where the hand grip meets the rod that goes into the base. Seems to be quite a bit of wiggle there that I would like to get rid of. Thanks and enjoy. 0utLAW X52 Pro Setup.rar

Hey guys quick question. I installed a new version of A-10C via Steam and now my old Helios profile doesn't work. How do I redirect the profile to the new location? Or do I just need to copy and paste some files in the correct location?
-
So I downloaded a new version of A-10 from Steam and I noticed that my Helios gauges are not working. Do I need to re-install Helios or something else?
-
I'll check it out. Thanks for the fast reply!

This is how my monitors are setup. As you can see I'm only missing a couple of things.

Pete, I'm having a problem with the layout. This is what I did; 1. I Made a Backup of my Aircrafts folder 2. I copied the 2. MFCDs in cockpit off files to my Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Scripts\ folder and allowed them to be overwritten. 3. I modified the Export example.lua file 4. Selected the New Export example.lua file in the options section and this is what I get I've aslo attached a copy of my New lua file. Any suggestions as to what went wrong? :) Front Panel M001.lua

So is there anything special/different about getting the CMSP to transfer to the second screen? I followed the same steps as I did for the clock but still can't seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?
-
OK so I figured it out. I just needed to ADD the text and NOT REPLACE the text in the indicator lua file.

Hey all I'm looking for a little help in getting the UHF, Radar and Clock to be displayed on my second monitor. I was looking through the Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts(http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70716) thread and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have both left and right MFCDs showing up correctly(without using that thread) but I can't seem to get the others to work. If someone could take a look at my lua files to see what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it. Setup; Acer GD235HZ(1920x1080) is my center monitor and below that is my Samsung 226BW(1680x1050) running the 2 MFCDs. Front Panel 003.lua DIGIT_CLK_init.lua

I have NOT made this profile yet but wanted to get some feedback on what I was thinking. The items in green are up for debate. Question marks are unassigned. The blue, purple and red items would be changed by the profile selector. Everything else in black would be standard across the different profiles. Please let me know if there is a profile like this already and what suggestions you may have. Thanks!

So I made(modified Loz SM v2.1 profile) a Helios profile to fit my Samsung 226BW(1680x1050) monitor. Hope some people can use this. I just need to get the EW, Radar, UHF and clock to show up on this monitor. 0utLAW A-10C.rar

I understand. Thank you. Photoshop is my friend. :)

Metal- I know how much some people like to skip over things or just read certain things and not the whole post. That's why I try to be as direct and simple as possible when I write something. :) Agrasyuk- I saw that build and I liked it a lot. That post is what inspired me(Thank you). I figured I'd try to hack up something lying around the house I don't use anymore. But for 8$ shipped that's awesome. I may have to give that build a try. Side note- All you guys are really awesome. Creative, nice and fast on the responses. I love it and thanks so much for all the input. I should be getting my stuff tomorrow so I may post some more questions here pertaining to the Helios setup. Thanks Again Really!

Also I have an extra Madcatz usb controller that I would like to mod into an UFC. Has anyone done this?
-
Is there a night mode for Helios? ie night illumination(green tint)?
-
WOW!! You guys are fast on this forum! I really appreciate it. I have messed around with Helios a little. It does see both monitors but it seems to only edit the larger/main monitor(I think). I'll just have to play around with it a little more. Also I forgot to mention I'm also modding an old Saitek Eclipse keyboard for some general aviation controls(Flight Sim X and Flight). I'll be using HIDMacros for configuring that keyboard. I want to replace the blue SMD LEDs with some white ones. And I've sanded the tops of each key and using either colored vellum or transparency film to make colored buttons ie. red=engine, green=general aviation, orange=radio/nav/comms, yellow=lights, blue=special operations(auto-pilot):)
