  1. yes, thats what im talking about, there was a lot more development opportunities in the YF-17 (to to being a superbug or growler) which probably would have been true to the YF-23 especially with vectored thrust

and superbug is too expensive for non-US countries, just like F-22

F-16s are Still being Built and sold,

F-18Cs are done, F-18 EFGs are being built and sold to Australia only so far.

  2. Getting enough to Run 640x480 SVGA VESA Driver, Sound Blaster 32 AWE and the GAME PORT, Mouse and Still have to load the CD Drive (due to game spooling from CD).

Falcon 3.0 took me 3 weeks of Code,, Boot, Test, Edit, Code.

i think i Finally got tips from a group of Guys that flew it regularly via 3rd party chit chat that led me to a Falcon 3.0 BBS.

now Kids are spoiled with Google.

  3. PC Gaming is on a Decline because not everyone wants to deal with or can solve driver and software issues that come with it. and the Price Tag to get a Decently competitive rig

*(Trust me, I've built budget builds, and while you save money, those budget parts start to fail quicker, and cause more problems 1-2 years down the road)

Buy a Console Play the Game, vs Buy a PC, Download a Update, try to play a game, crashes, email support, try to update drivers, mess things up worse.

PC Gamers will always be a smaller market, the same way study sims will be a smaller market, cuz the amount of people smart enough to build, diagnose and fix their own gaming PCs isnt as high as the amount of people smart enough to stick a disk in a Console and choose play.

  4. the IGP can be used for Physics and other Functions, the Intel Controller actually offloads media functions to the IGP.

there's been IGPs in the last 2 or 3 Intel Families, so I dont see why the IGP is getting Negative attention now.

Seriously though, all Bashing and AMD Fanboyism Aside... 5 GHz Stable on 989mv.

I dont think ANY AMD CPU or APU can do that yet, nor Intel CPUs (Atoms Maybe, but not x86 CPUs).

The fact that these chips can operate as low as 600mv stable and use significantly less power than any other Desktop CPU, means it will sell VERY well in areas where Electricity Bills are a big thing.

ie In certain countries I see these new chips selling very well, and the new AMD 220w FX9000 Chips barely selling at all.

The issues with the new chip is now everyone has to patch/re-program for it.

The haswell Chips are faster than IB by a Small Margin, but the power consumption is leaps and bounds Ahead of everything else.

Haswell System using IGP for Media Decoding instead of a PCIE Card will use signicantly less power than SB/IB as well as producing LESS Heat.

I seriously would consider using HASWELL with the IGP in a Media Center build, Less power, Less Heat, Less Fans, Less Noise.

  5. I dont understand why Im seeing videos of 14-15 yr olds with DevKit units, what's the point?, they arent gonna develop anything for it, and they are gonna whine and complain when it goes retail with better specs than their dev units.

Smh.. which is why I got my Dev Unit, played with it for a week, then shipped it to a buddy of mine so he can work on stuff for it (Since he didnt have the $$ for kickstarter)

  6. Wait. What?

EA had a licensing deal to use the Jane's brand. Under this this agreement, they published and funded the development of 20 different Jane's titles.

    • Jane's Combat Simulations: US Navy Fighters (1994) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: US Navy Fighters Marine Fighters (1995) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters - Nato Fighters (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters Gold (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow: Flash Point Korea (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow Limited Edition (1996) DOS
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow Gold (1997) DOS, Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: U.S. Navy Fighters '97 (1997) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations - 688(I) Hunter/Killer (1997) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Fighters Anthology (1997) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow 2 (1997) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: WWII Fighters (1998) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow Anthology (1998) DOS, Windows

    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Israeli Air Force (1998) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Fleet Command (1999) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: USAF (1999) Windows
    • Jane's Combat Simulations: F/A-18 (2000) Windows

It was only after EA walked away from the relationship that the wheels fell off:

    • Jane's Combat Simulations: Jane's Attack Squadron (2002) Windows
    • JASF: Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters (2011) Windows

Some additional notes from CJ Martin:

    http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49612

Ok, need to make some adjustments:

Jane's Combat Simulations: US Navy Fighters (199 4) DOS

Jane's Combat Simulations: US Navy Fighters Marine Fighters (1995 ) DOS

USMF Was an Expansion/Massive Patch for USNF, It seriously finally fixed alot of Issues I had with USNF By Itself.

Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters (1996 ) DOS

Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters - Nato Fighters (1996 ) DOS

Like Above, NATO Fighters was an Expansion/Massive Patch for ATF

Jane's Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters Gold (1996 ) DOS

Basically ATF+NATO Exp/Patch All On one CD

    Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow (1996 ) DOS

Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow: Flash Point Korea (1996 ) DOS

Jane's Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow Limited Edition (1996 ) DOS

Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow Gold (1997 ) DOS, Windows

Same as Above, Expansions with a lot of bug fixes.

Gold Version was All Expansions Included and re-Coded to use DirectDRAW

    Jane's Combat Simulations: U.S. Navy Fighters '97 (1997 ) Windows

USNF + MF Expansion, Recoded to Use DirectDRAW, from VESA Display Driver.

    Jane's Combat Simulations - 688(I) Hunter/Killer (1997 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: Fighters Anthology (1997 ) Windows

Fighters Anthology is exactly as it says, its USNF'97, ATF Gold, ATF NATO Fighters.

From there you have multiple mid-study sims.

    Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow 2 (1997 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: WWII Fighters (1998 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow Anthology (1998 ) DOS, Windows

All of the Longbow Expansions and Patches.

    Jane's Combat Simulations: F-15 (1998 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: Israeli Air Force (1998 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: Fleet Command (1999 ) Windows

    Jane's Combat Simulations: USAF (1999 ) Windows

    Jane's Combat Simulations: F/A-18 (2000 ) Windows

I Own them all Except the ones listed below and the post EA/Jane's Era:

    Jane's Combat Simulations - 688(I) Hunter/Killer (1997 ) Windows

Jane's Combat Simulations: WWII Fighters (1998 ) Windows

And TBH, USNF, MF, ATF, ATF-NF, LB, LB FPK, all used the same Core engine.

F-15, F-18, USAF, IAF all had different engines.

  7. It's -100 to +100 for the animation track. People used -30 to +30 in the early years but that's not how the game is set up. And for things like tires and radar rotations with 360 degrees of rotation, you must split it up in to 90 degree chunks. So animate 360 degrees from 0 to 100, and just add a key at 25 50 and 75 and it will work fine.

That explains why my gear was rotating Uber fast, lol, i was using 0-30 and 120 Degree Increments.... FacePalm Myself.

I guess I go Back and Re-Do all the Animations Soon.

  8. Wow, I frequently fly solo with little other traffic in the air so I usually don't care what other planes look like, but that C-17 looks like something out of Flanker 2.0.

Wonder what happened behind the scenes on why this newere model wasn't used. It looks stunning and I'm sure the time spent integrating it into DCS to look so nice took quite a bit of time.

there's a few models over the last 5 years that didnt make it, IIRC.
