  1. In all honesty though, you would probably do well with reinstalling (clean). Besure to "Deactivate" first otherwise you'll burn an authorization. It's found under C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\bin A10c_protect. With respect to what ever modifications you've made ie: Helios, View Ports or what have you-back up what ever changes you've made into a different folder and just replace them after your re-install. I found that once I reinstalled Saitek drivers, Profile editor and followed the "profile installation instructions" Evreything fell back into place. It sucks I know but you have to resolve your self to that option if nothing else works. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - Albert Einstein
  2. Success! after reinstalling the Saitek Profile Editor, All is right with the (DCS) World!.
  3. Well, I finally got it back working again, had to de-activate DCS and completely uninstall it and remove the "saved games" file as well. (I backed up the complete file to another hdd). NOW, however my slider isn't being recognized for use with the speed brakes nor is my "mini stick" recognized for use as a "slew". In the Profile editor it reacts normally however when I select "test profile" I get nothing one both. So, there's a "communication" error between the profiler and the sim. Probably have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and profile editor-AGAIN. UGH- so much time invested... Side note: After reinstalling, I went into DCS Options, selected "Modifyers", selected "Modifyers" again (and NOT "Switches") then pressed the "Pinky Switch" and it recognized it right away.
  4. First off, let me say a Huge thanks to JackBauer for sharing his profile! I think it's fairly spot on and works great!. Having said that however, I'm encountering a problem. On my previous rig (modified Dell) with windows Vista home premium 32bit the profile worked like a charm. And I grew acustom to operating it. I've since built a brandy new machine with windows 7 64bit and now the profile isn't behaving like it used to. Before I could use the pinky switch as a "modifyer". Hold it down china hat left, right etc. Lift it and I'm back to DMS. Likewise for TMS and Trim. But now, the pinky switch is acting like a switch; in that I have to press and release to enter into a "different shift state". Then press again to return to previous shift state. This makes it difficult when you're trying to aquire a target, TMS up, then TMS up long, then "pinky switch" coolie hat to switch to mav-china hat to slew seeker to spi, TMS up to lock. If you're in the wrong "shift state" you end up centering your seeker, loosing your target and cursing the whole mess. In the Options menu of the SIM it's recognzing JOY_BTN6 as the modifyer. When I go to "Modifyer" a window pops up with "add modifyer" and "add switch". JOY_BTN6 is under "switch" and I can't find it anywhere in any of the list of "switches" OR "modifyers" I really like this profile and it HAS worked for me in the not so recent past, if anyone can help-It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. I'm having similar issue, "SIM crashes to desktop"
  6. Can anyone help? I'm having a issue after logging into Multiplayer. I can get to the main server and see a list of servers however, once inside and in the "pit" DCS crashes and I get a "DCS World has stopped working" message. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and adjusted the "bcdedit" value and am still having the problem. DCS World single player works fine as does DCS A-10c Warthog v1.1.1.1 stand alone. The problem only occures after loading a server. I've uploaded the most recent DCS log as well as posted it in here. Current system is: Dell Inspiron 531 w/ Vista Home Premium (32bit), AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5800+ 3.00 Ghz, 4gig Ram, ATI Radeon 5750 Graphics, OCZ 700w P/S Peripherals are: X52 Saitek Flight Control System, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals, TrackIR 5
  7. Thank you for your quick response, thought I had re-downloaded the correct version, I'll d/l this version and try it.
  8. I was able to purchase the v1.1.1.1 through steam and use the key in DCS how ever now my DCS World (after uninstall and reinstall) fails to recognize A-10c. Also, wasn't sure if by purchasing DCS World if that would limit me in the SIM Group I am interested in joining as they are pretty much v1.1.1.1 only. It's a bit difficult keeping up with all these changes and the info on the e-shop and downloads page doesn't really go in to any kind of detail for those with previously installed version.
  9. Hello, Hope someone can help me,<EDITED> I have since purchased the key and am now able to fly multiplayer in DCS A-10c stand alone. I had uninstalled DCS World thinking that the new release was an updated version and subsequently downloaded it and reinstalled it. Now, World does NOT recognize my copy of DCS A-10c as there is a "$" above the icon and the A-10 is nowhere to be found within the aircraft selection option. appologies if this seems a bit convoluted and long winded...
  10. How do I go about purchasing a serial key for DCS A-10c Warthog (English Download Version) v1.1.1.1? Under the "E-shop" link the only module listed currently are the "German and Spanish" versions and DCS A-10c Warthog (English Download Version)v1.2.0. I am currently interested in joining a SIM Squad that at this time only uses the v1.1.1.1 and DCS World.
  11. Thanks Smokey, working on signing up and getting everything in order, lot to go through-getting all sorted out.
  12. Thanks for the supportive words of encouragemnt Panzer and luza and for the input. I'll look into Ventrillo but as it happens I already have TS3 (currently a member of USAT @82nd.us, our TS3 is set up through that site) I've been actively working on this Sim since I got it almost 2 weeks ago and while I AM pretty much firmiluar with the HOTAS and have done the training tutorials on numourous occasions, still some things come easier then others. I'm no stranger to the immersion based training scenarios as I aslo have a copy of VBS2 USArmy Lite. So, I've made and will continue to make the effort to understand...but I do appreciate the offer to contact. Thanks for taking the time to reply, hope to see you in the skies also.
  13. Hello fellow Simmers, Just wanted to introduce myself, recenlty came across this title and had to have it. I used to have Lock On-Flaming CLiffs but just couldn't grasp the concepts of weaponry and avionics. (wish I could find the discs now). Anyway, over the last few years I got into playing ARMA and ARMA II and after I got back from deployment wanted to set up my system again and dig heavier into the flight sims. I purchased a X52 flight controller before I went on deployment so I have some expierence with it and just recently picked up the combat rudder pedals and TrackIR 5 and I have to say it's a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. It took a hot minute to find a profile for the X52 but I finally found in the forums "SFJackBauer" profile and put the lau into the sim so everything is pretty much set up. (still considering whether or not to splurge on the TM Warthog or go with the X65f but another time). I've spent some time sifting through the forums and on YOU-Tube watching how some of these guys go through their manuvers set steer points/waypoints track targets, slip in HIT and slip out. It's Amazing and makes me wonder if there're actually A-10 pilots here. I know I'm probably rambling here... I know you can't just climb in and fly right, it's practice practice practice. It's also difficult to do by your self. I'm more of a hands on kinda guy as the instuctions go and even though they're informative, indepth and Very Well put together it's still confusing. I find myself more often then not just popping out of auto pilot diving in slow, slewing a mav and pealing off; till I run out of mavs. Then the fllights get longer or I get bolder and wind up a fire ball only to "RCVR" and burn off more mav's. Guess what it all boils down to is-Is there anyone interested in teaching a NEWB how to handle the awesome devestaing attack power of the A-10c? Wouldn't mind being a wing man if you don't mind the risk of ending up a flamming heap. Again, I appologize for being long winded here (call it exuberence). Just wanted to say Hi and look forward to flying with you.
