Solved. Created a small trigger on the helo, then part of group in zone, sound to group attach file, the set 5 sec timer on the sound playing! And my most authentic USA Delta Force voice is played with Irish tones lol!

Hi looking some assistance for a trigger. I’m making a transport mission starting on the ramp. I want to use a voiceover after 4 troops embark on a UH1. I have tried everything zones etc and timers. What’s the cleanest way to set up it? Cheers! Gary

Have to agree that DCS has come on in leaps and bounds! I have tried all the sims, including civil ones! The closest one to the real thing is DCS!! I’m a real life light aircraft pilot in Northern Ireland and have an Ex RAF trainer, Thruster T-600N Sprint. It’s not a jet, but a rugged STOL prop! Handles a little like the A10 with no load! A quick question to you guys. I had 3 external tanks fitted. I attempted a jettison of the centre one via sel jet sms option. It fell as intended, however the sms froze and would not let me input anything else on the mfd soft keys. I couldn’t even select my gun for a strafing attack, when I was dry of GBU’s. I got my interest in aviation from DCS and have achieved my full PPL in RL. I bought an Ex-Raf trainer, Thruster T600-N Sprint and have begun a new YouTube channel (WeePilot). My real aircraft is controlled with stick and throttle. The closest sim to RL is actually DCS. Ah I learned nap of the earth river flying in DCS first haha! The only issue in a real plane is you have one life and can’t respawn!! Think of it as hardcore simulation!

Is there an issue locking on the FCR? Seemed to have an issue locking an F5, showing up as a red triangle on FCR and pushing up on TMS and nothing. I went back to WAGS’ tutorial and was able to lock no issue on drones. What am I likely doing wrong? Thanks

I have a simple request please. When we upload a mission can we please have the option to include documents, either image or pdf based with the mission. I know the work around is Dropbox etc, but it would allow us to create some excellent immersive scenarios. The mission brief is just too restrictive to include decent info and I think the better option is for us to design a briefing pack, as editors. If we could attach to the mission it would be excellent. So the user downloads the mission and gets a folder with all the required docs and has an option to print or display them on a tablet etc!

Hi guys I am a DCS veteran from the early days and actually a real life light aircraft pilot lol! Can I get the nav on the viper to work as intended, NO!! I’m obviously doing something horribly wrong!! I do startup as per the checklist! INS Align normal and wait 8mins until ready flashes! All the other systems are working fine, but I get no info on the hud with steerpoints and no range info on the HSI! There is obviously something I’m not engaging? Any help much appreciated! I fly ultralight ie under 450kg and even a large crosswind it feels more planted. I think if they could model or even give us a slider for friction it would be perfect. It’s quite funny landing in real life is easier than in DCS! However DCS is much better than any other sim to date!

I don’t think heavies we can control will appear soon. I would like to see them but thinking practically. 1. Scenery doesn’t really warrant taking off a massive jet with no real distance to go. 2. Pilots do not fly those aircraft by hand, way too hard and unrealistic. They use complex flight management computers with specific waypoints like SIDS and STARS to navigate on a automated route. These are not modelled in DCS. The only time they will take control is takeoff / landing / evasive action etc. 3. Heavies would only attract a limited number of customers or hardcore sim enthusiasts. Most DCS customers like a trigger that does something! I’m a real life pilot and aircraft owner, so I like DCS for its life like flight characteristics! I feel the only way we would get a 4 engine plane up is push for a AWACS sim, install a few fixes in each map for autopilot and concentrate on a pilot and radar operator. It would be fun to ping enemy and give details re real voice over net! Only issue is that the maps are too small. You would need constant high alt fighter babysitting or enemy would engage you and make it an early end of your game!!

Some might think I’m being fussy, but hey DCS has become that good the only things left are smaller issues! I have noticed on most aircraft the tyres pressures appear to very very high (I’m aware fast air need sometimes in excess of 320). Nose and tail wheels work as they should on the models, but the two main wheels appear a little bouncy. I am a PPL in real life and aircraft owner. I have flown different light aircraft, however not the Spitfire!!! I would have assumed that as most of the landings where on grass or hastily created airfields the pressures would have been a little lower. On the spitfire it has a tendency to bounce easily and slap a wing if you don’t perform a dance on your rudder! The big question is are the pressure accurate and is the tail swinging trait accurate on our model? Or are they a little worse. I have a feeling they are. Hopefully a dev or someone with r l spit or WW2 experience can enlighten us.

Thanks bud I will try later, it would actually be more realistic being on the kneeboard! Although in real life I mainly use a tablet for plates / weather / checklists, I always wear a kneeboard with all the printed checklists and route etc! I have done a few local flights without it and I feel bare!

As an amateur mission editor, one thing I have found the the terrible resolution for mission briefings. If we had the option for including at least A4 size with images and maybe even an option to attach a video briefing. I’m not criticising DCS as it’s the most realistic flight sim I have used. I’m actually a real life pilot and DCS is the only Sim I feel connected to. But if the briefing interface had the option for larger docs and video it would be amazing!!

Hi guys. I know there are some old posts regarding this, however nothing recently. Questions; 1. Which ordnance is the best for destroying runways? What trigger would be relevant to use for this? 2. Is there any way to use a trigger for confirming the destruction of a specific scenery building or bridge etc? Thanks Gary

Is there anyway to change the slew rate for targeting? It seems a little fast with the TMW

I have noticed that I can fire on manual, however the issue appears to be auto. No idea why, as elevation, range and systems seem to be within limits.
