  1. Its a mystery then, found evidence that I was running V 1.5.3 back in April 2016, same graphics card with DX11 installed in a posting by myself with a report on 050416 titled "Game crashes on starting a mission" and it was a problem which resolved itself eventually. As I was running on the minimum then, perhaps Win 10 is now using a bit more memory than win 7 was and has caused the problem, but not to worry, new card and memory when I get chance.
  2. Was 1.5 Open beta running on DX 9, because if it was not, then I can assure you that it was working on my system because as we have seen, my graphics card does not support DX11 but I have had OPEN Beta 1.5 working on that card since it came out and it was up to upgrading to WIN 10 and DX 12 when it stopped working.
  3. If that is the case then, I cannot recall when 1.5 came out, but if it was before July 29th when I switched to Win 10, then I must have been running 1.5 on DX9. Anyway, time to go fishing fro rest of week, I'll sort it out next week if I get chance.
  4. Tried it numerous occasions along with pressing virtually every other key settings for views etc. I also knew I was not the first to have this problem but no matter how much I searched I could not find the thread till today until I was looking at DX 11 issues and then found the thread I was looking for which would have helped me. The other poster had spelt cockpit as "cokpit" so no matter how much I searched for "cockpit" problems I could not find it. At moment planning on going back to 1.2 till I can get a new graphics card or revert back to an earlier 1.5 that worked with DX 9, if there is one and it is possible to go back to such.
  5. So it must be a coincidence that at the same time as I updated to Win 10, DCS World must have updated to DirectX 11.0 as DCS ran perfect with high frame rates etc on DirectX 10 before I installed Win 10
  6. That is probably the problem then, Win 10 has updated me to DX 12. I shall have to see if I can go back to DX 10 when I get time.
  7. Its not made any difference, no cockpit or any external views of the aircraft even though only 78% of the RAM is in use. Next step to find two more chips to get me to 8GB
  8. I will give that ago of a clean install, for 1.5, I was on the open beta. I refrained from doing this but was held back by my monthly download limit, but I have just had fibre optic fitted so things are buzzing now with a bigger monthly limit.
  9. Hi Since updating to Windows 10 at the end of July, When I got around to using DCS World a short while later, I found non of my aircraft cockpits would display, A10-C, F-86 and the Hawk. In the A10-C, I get the HUD and the two MFD's, the F-86 and hawk, nothing. I also noted that when I fly towards a built up area as I get close, the buildings dissapear, terrain features ie tree's etc remain. In Windows 7, DCS world worked perfect and flawlessly. I have lowered resolution settings in the sim to minimum etc, reverted back to an older graphics card driver that worked, tried repairs but nothing works. As I can no longer revert back to Win 7, I am now stuck. Something tells me its a memory issue and Win 10 uses more than Win 7 on which I was running on the minimum needed, 4GB RAM and 2GB graphics card and I may need a new system now. Anyone any ideas what else could be amiss? DxDiag.txt
  10. Question from me, I also have all my kneeboard functions mapped to my joystick and after some hectic CAS I can end up with a load of marks on the map,is it possible to clear these marks when you end up with loads of unwanted one?
  11. I have just had this problem yesterday with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro which I use for quick games instead of setting up my Thrustmaster Warthog, HOTAS and pedals. I updated to the latest version of 1.5.3, checked the settings that nothing had changed for the joystick and nothing had, but soon as I went to play a mission with the F-86F, I went into an inverted loop and had no control at all with the stick to pull out of it and eventually crashed. After the first time, I disconnected the stick from the PC and reconnected it, opened up DCS world again, the same happened again. In total it happened three times. After the third time I opened up control panel in Windows and checked to see if my stick was working and it was working perfectly, opened up DCS world again and the problem was solved.
  12. Since the last update to the latest version, 1.5.3 52478, I now have a problem of the game crashing occasionally. Aircraft in use F-86F. Start the mission When it loads, press "Fly" and then I get DCS world has stopped working After a few attempts it will work. report.zip
  13. Just discovered this old thread whilst browsing through old posts etc. The "Hide the Stick" toggle does work on the F-86F on the most recent update which I have done today, 1.5.3 52478
  14. The level of detail fails though when you get killed in such a mishap and can post on a forum asking questions as to what went wrong. I think that after one unsurvivable mishap, your DCS World should become locked along with access to forums.
  15. Nothing complicated about it at all, its a very simple process which takes seconds, plus I also have the real manual as well.
  16. As a quick work around, I copy small parts of the Russian manual and post it into Google translator. Sometimes I get to find out what I want to know and copy and paste it along with the picture into my own document for future reference but sometimes its a bit gobblygook and need to work out what the translation means
  17. With the F86-F, I found on landing a damaged plane with no hydraulic pressure, that I did a handbrake turn the moment I tried braking and was going backwards down the runway till I stopped. Its never happened to me before so is it new or an undocumented feature of the F86-F about a simple form of a thrust reverser to assist braking. Front wheel brakes worked? Main undercarriage brakes failed?
  18. Bit confused, how can you dive at a 10 degree angle with the pipper on the target and then when you get closer to the target increase the dive angle to 30 degree also with the pipper on the target, to me it sounds imposible. To me there would have to be a point where you are going to have to fly with the pipper off the target and beyond it to enable a 30 degree dive, or do I take it, its just a 30 degree dive.
  19. I had this problem yesterday with the flaps, switch on joystick would not resolve it and finally got the lever in the neutral position using the keyboard, when I finally got it all sorted, I could not understand why I was flying nose up, trimming would not sort it out, thought gear might still be down for some unknown reason despite an indication gear was up so went to an outside view and saw the flaps still down despite the lever being in the neutral position. It shows up just after take off in the .trk file bm21.trk
  20. I read something about this in the forums only the other day or very similar, but for love or money I cannot find the thread to find the solution, less its been deleted. Problem is I am blighted by it now and its driving me bonkers. Get a good approach, go to pickle the bombs, and next thing rockets are firing instead. Go around for another pass and the same may happen or the bombs will come off as planned, try again, but once again, it could be bombs or rockets. Till I get it sorted, I cannot try and get some profiles for manual dive bombing. I have gone through all the guides over and over and cannot see anything amiss. I have added a trk, any random object as a target and no specific profile being used just to demonstrate what happens and also just changed the odd thing for some passes to see if it makes any difference. The first pass, tgt open field, instead of bombs, its rockets and I think the next tgt, nothing altered its bombs and afterwards its random. Its a bit screwy to start with as the aircraft was wildly out of trim for some unknown reason so it was a juggling act to level it out. f86 practise.trk Found the answer, its the switch "Rocket Release Mode", needs switching to Safe. I'll have to write that into my checklist.
  21. Thanks for the replys, answers I was looking for, I used to be clued up on DCS World etc, but not bothered with it for ages because of work, then come back to it and learning from scratch again along with all the new features that have appeared, some I have seen and some that I am only encountering on the way. All done and dusted now, only pain was, despite getting joystick pushed to one side, it would always appear in snap view, so I sussed it out and used camera mode to look around side of it, did a few more snap views, but they can all be improved on, simply because camera mode stopped working. The most important thing though is I got what I wanted and mapped to a spare button on the joystick as well So once again many thanks
  22. What is the easiest way to use the weapons control panel, I find it frustrating with it being hidden behind the control column. My usual way is to zoom right in, then move the stick to one side briefly. But I find if I zoom too much, I find that the dial to switch from Bomb/Missile/gun does not work. I suspect its a camera view but I cannot work out which, or can the control column be hidden?
  23. My monthly allowance is 36GB and it is a proper landline based ISP. Just checked and the complete update was just over 11GB so it must have replaced everything, along with the failed one from the day before took me way over my limit. Shall have to look out for one of these WiFi hotspots and take my tablet or looking paying more for a bigger allowance , but times are hard now that I have just retired which does not help, lots of playtime, but no DCS to play on. In fact I still have it on my old hard drive which is a slave drive so it probably will still play....or is it possible to clone it onto the SSD, or is there a folder with all past updates downloaded and saved which would solve the problem. Just copied my old DCS World installation over onto my new SSD drive, it cost me an activation, its updated to Dec 2014 and seems to work perfect.
  24. When it comes to an update, I get no options other than the program updating itself. I did see a link to a torrent yesterday that flashed up briefly, but where it was, and how I got to it I don't know. Found the torrent again, but I'm in no position to download it at the moment as it will cost me even more per GB I download, will have to wait for another 9 days till my new allowance starts. It would not be so bad if all the updates from 2012 had been in EXE or Zip files so I could install them again as I was updated to the previous version of the latest one so the update would not be so large. But if I recall its only updates that seem to get throttled to 0.7mb, the normal files download fast as I tried one last month. Just confirmed it, 438mbs/sec they download , but cancelled it quick as it was costing me money.
  25. Nothing wrong with my ISP / internet connection, all my downloads/updates for other programs are very fast, DCS updater starts fast 400+mb/s like all other downloads but within seconds drops to 0.8mb. This problem I see is also reported in another thread that I have found today.
