  1. Another alternative F-35 gun ammunition: APEX.pdf
  2. Slightly more than that.

  4. So the F-22's in-service KDR currently stands at 0-3? I'm not sure how Viper off Top Gun would explain this. Viper: During the Korean war USAF pilots enjoyed a 12:1 kill-death-ratio. Through Vietnam that ratio became 3:1 - pilots had lost some of their dog-fighting skills. In the early 21st century that ratio fell to 0:3 - manufacturers had lost some of their plane-building skills.
  5. Oh??? So is that 3 now? Or 6 counting YF-22s? Wasn't there a hypoxia related one too?
  6. At a glance it looks as if one pilot is under the wheel and the other has hung himself.:D
  7. That could change at any time. From what I've heard you're in a race to the bottom with the Chinese to see who can print money the fastest, devalue their currency and pick up exports as a result.

  9. Apparently it's not a write-off. It was a failure to increase power after retracting gear, much like this but with an F-22: AFlvhoyLFUk Pilot error this time.
  10. Maybe absorbing all those radio waves is making the pilot dizzy.

  12. Using a heavy weapon can make it fly like a turd if you only use 1 of them. E.g. a Kh-29 or FAB-500. If you have 2 and only use 1, the aircraft does not fly so good thereafter.
  13. Hilarious how the pilot made sure he was caught on camera.
  14. It would be easier to see a B-2 than an F-117 in theory, simply due to the size, but then it probably packs more juice to make up for it.
  15. Well a launch platform is just a launch platform. What really matters are radars, planes, satellites, avionics and missiles.
  16. Is this a J-31 or a 3rd stealth fighter? At a glance it doesn't look like it can carry much internally. The J-31 seems to only carry AAMs internally, so it looks like it won't have a stealth strike ability.
  17. HJ-10 http://chinesemilitaryreview.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/pterodactyl-long-endurance-combat.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HJ-10 To be followed with AKD-10. They look as much like Hellfires as this looks like a Predator.
  18. Looks like supercruising ability could get stronger still: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1603541&postcount=40 Looks like it could get 50,000lbf after all.
  19. Thermal mgmt issues: http://www.globalspec.com/reference/21597/121073/f-35-may-need-thermal-management-changes
  20. New engine incoming: http://www.aviationweek.com/Article.aspx?id=/article-xml/AW_11_05_2012_p80-511307.xml 10% more thrust, 25% better economy. qh5b0fhre3M
  21. F-35 gatling gun to undergo testing: http://www.examiner.com/article/air-force-orders-armor-piercing-ammunition-for-f-35-test-firings FAP Ammo.pdf
  22. You would be lucky to be in the same situation as Greece. Greece has countries like Germany and France and the ECB trying to bail it out. They also have the option of going back to the Drachma. Nobody is going to bail out the US because nobody is able to.
  23. An interesting stat is that the money spent of the Iraq and Afghan conflicts would buy 400 Raptors per year.
  24. Well if 0.05 is all they have to offer, that's no better than the 'non-stealth' EF2000, which is stated as a third of the Rafale's 0.1.
