Have a weird problem where when i first start up in a cold plane/helo that my bindings on the hotas dont seem to work until i go into keybindings flick any button/switch on my hotas. ( same everytime i load a new mission etc ) example ; fresh cold apache , hit the comms button , nothing happens , go into my bindings and press the button , it is binded to comms already, go into game and it now works ? ( this is with all buttons ) any ideas?

Sure! sorry for the delayed reply work sucks , for unknown reasons i found it IS oculus mirror ( no idea what is going on) , so i ended up bypassing mirror completely and just going straight through obs. My only downside atm is that i lose the stabilization of mirrror so sometimes u get a twitch of my heartbeat visable and things like that. PC = cpu- i7 9700k 3.60ghz cooler- corsair hydro h100i motherboard- msi z390 gaming pro carbon ram- 32gb hyperx fury 3200mhz ddr4 graphics- msi 2080ti gaming x trio vr- oculus rift s obs i have it set as my monitor res 1440p under the video tab but then rescaling it to 1080p on streaming tab OBS= encoder = nvidia nvenc 1080p rescale bitrate =6000 ( id go more but sure twitch doesnt like it) keyframe =1 preset = quality profile = high click psycho and look ahead and b frames =2 also crop the screen in obs so the game is actually bigger than the window that will be seen (but make sure its not so much u lose too much cockpit ) and the biggest thing ; Shout out to plazma for the tip ! just remember to change it every patch ! ( as i forgot a few times ) good luck and look forward to seeing your videos out there!

a few more since then , not sure im getting better or worse at this Trying out the tsd and making map points ( wps, tg etc) theres alot of in cockpit messing around and not as much flying; some multiplayer "training" apaches the first time ive ever really played on multiplayer since starting dcs many years ago and yes the update broke my hmd mask view and i didnt realise till after a bit of a fail stream fixed the hmd mask but ran into a few bugs( which are now fixed , thanks ED! ) after having technical issues of my own and terrible flying , add on the fact i was tired, i ended up a bit grouchy by the end another patch another time i forgot the hmd mask , but testing out online again including servers going down and wps being added in and i try SRS which i really need to get used to using and learning what to say , but just needs training i guess ( plus seems really low volume in my headset and i barely hear ppl

Some of my streams ive done from first flight ( had about 30 mins to get the startup sorted) to where i am now , having a blast. Took a few sad streams to get things setup as i want it so beware terrible sound or stuttering ingame on the first ones ! Evolution of streams from worst to best As title says mic pops in this one and game stutters in places first stream of teh apache ! sorted the stuttering was oculus mirror (?) but now i had the vr vision as i call it ! screwed up my mic and the stream looked stretched Where i am today think i fixed my visuals but my mic still a little off Any advice welcome ! Future plans sort out the volumes, start doing some TSD useage ( learning that atm) for wp and targets, more rotorops missions to train and multiplayer servers and also SRS sorted! EDIT:

hey im having a problem with this mission ive tried it 5 times and everytime i escort the hip, kill the attackers after the pilot in the building, but the hip doesnt seem to land fully looks like it tries multiple times but never actually lands on the ground and then takes off and flies for a little bit then mission failed. Im not sure what else i can do ? tnx in advance Nazghool.

Hi not sure if in right place for this but i was wondering if ingame screenshots ( by me) can be used for my youtube channel as thumbnails and banner etc or if theres some reason im not allowed to or maybe have to ask permission for use of property etc? ( kinda new to all this stuff so wanted to check b4 i "cross" any lines) not making any money off it atm if that helps.

Fyi pressing f4 u can actually sit in the apache cockpit but then u lose pretty much everything but the non functional cockpit view ( im using vr ) which if u just want the immersion of flying the apache is cool imo :pilotfly:. Just need to adjust your seat so ur slightly infront the npc sitting there already ( or find a way to remove him :P )

hey my first ever purchase of dcs franchise was the blackshark i made on steam and i upgraded to bs2 via dcs website itself. After the whole update on the site to just flat bs2 key i figured id finally update it to the new key but when im trying to get it im asked for 2 keys, One for bs and one for bs2, i have bs2 but i dont have anyway of seeing the key for my steam version of bs ( no cd key link/tab/rightclick dropdown nothing) So i decided to try the link steam to my account here on dcs and still says no keys ?? so do i need to contact steam for it or something else ? naz

yea the hotfix 3 seems to have pretty much fixed everything except the 1080 res to access the bottom of the screen :) fantastic job guys and gals ! :thumbup::thumbup: thank you all !! :D:D

hi can anyone help im a bit confused with this if i start a server on my machine and then start a client to conect to it im fine... i want to get my friend to connect to it aswell but im not sure how im supposed to do that? ive got him to start the client up and tried to type in my ip address but says theres nothing there ( ive opened to ports in my router ) im connecting to the default ip on the client ( guessing its the local ip for our own machine? ) sorry im total noob when it comes to this stuff :helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

hi just wanted to run thru on here to see if its me missing something or not basically i start a server ( ports open etc) , name server, add pass, select a mission/map ( basically causacus with mine and a friends planes on there both clients) public server , start it and join its fine , my friend sees my server in the list types in the pass its right he starts to connect then gets thrown to the server list screen again.. now heres the strange part he creates exactly the same map and settings and starts a server .. i see his server and i can connect to his with no problems... why cant he connect to mine? any ideas? :helpsmilie:

yup , just figured id post a list of problems ppl are having in the first post makes it easier to see .... but mine are ; - the edges not rendering black box issue when turning head -seems to stutter alot when turning too and if i move my head it keeps moving for a second after... - lock up/loading freeze when trying to change keybindings -f10 map is messed up ( think thats everyone not just vr tho) -leaving multiplayer freezes/lock ups -no visual rain on the canopy of the harrier ... has on the f18 ( altho i think something changed and is a conflict or something with just the harrier) logs ive sent via the crash tool already afaik specs- i5 4670k 16gb ram gtx 1070 ssd oculus rift on a side note i updated the rift a few days ago and everything was fine when i was playing dcs , BUT i did update gfx drivers b4 the dcs update. EDIT;after reading this https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/69039/latest-nvidia-driver-399-07-issues-a-fix-for-bsod-while-using-oculus-vr has anyone tried latest rift update and dcs update but with the older gfx driver??

Its not an INS problem its a new start up cutoff throttle lever ive never had too use b4 to start up .....

ok updated about an hour ago and now i have multiple problems. 1, stutters and lags in the vr headset which i didnt have b4 update 2, f10 map is borked.. runways/names/ icons everything is all over the place and when u zoom in they slowly make their way back to the proper place on the map ( only ingame not the mission editor) 3, leaving a multiplayer server is causing massive loading ,sometimes locks up game completely ( my own server aswell with just me in it ( was testing it out )) 4, Try to load up a module, open "edit controls" and try to change some binding. Screen freezes for some time and then Oculus rift render HAS ISSUES, no 3d effect and extreme noisea 5.no visual rain on the canopy of the harrier ... has on the f18 but no fancy rain streaks etc still. 6. ASW mode does not work edit : added in a few more

lol yea literally as i posted this and went off to play did the update ... works fine for my tm hotas joystick thankfully:joystick:

if i could get the tdc controls onto the throttles mini joystick (using tm t.16000m hotas) i could change the one hat to weapons ( i hear it doesnt work at mo but this is ea so hears hoping!) thanks anyway everyone :)

hmm i followed the guide from grim reapers vids on setting up and have sensor control switches, throttle designator controllers , trimmers on 3 of my hats, i got gear, flaps up , flaps down and throttle designator depress on the 4th as they so convieniently positioned i dont have to take my hand off to change them ( espeically when landing ) but maybe i could switch one of them out for the weapons instead ... thanks anyway :)

that'll probably do it :doh: , ill retry it just to make sure thanks wags ot ,noob question... when in a/a mode and i switch to guns , how do u deselect the guns ? i tried pressing guns again nothing , no guns icon on the weapon load ddi to deselect (but there is on the a/g?) and if i switch to missiles the gun reticles still there and i cant fire the missile only the guns? btw loved your tutorial vids , hope theres more to come ! :pilotfly:

hey first off amazing job so far on the f18 ... loving it!!! ok so trying out the countermeasures on a quick mission took off with the radar tone lock on blaring , nothings happening , cant see anything , so i fly out the area tone goes off .. ok nps. ( the enemy were pretty close on the map) flying towards a helo im gonna try and down and i get the warning lock on tone so look around dont see anything the ew showing ground based aa in a certain direction nothing i can see in that direction and no missile fired tone then i jerk right and im on fire going down ... is the missle fired warning tone bugged or am i missing something ? ( also think it came from the sam as i got hit from behind and only aircraft in the area was a helo i was flying directly at ) and as i ejected and watched the poor burning carcass of my plane i see another missile hit it as it hits the ground from behind :cry: . * note im playing in vr so it could be i couldnt SEE the missile ( or maybe it swung behind me and i missed it? ) but there was no missile fired tone?? :helpsmilie: gonna try and replicate it ...
