  1. Sure would be nice to see the radio panel. The contortions necessary to tune the radios while using TrackIR rival any circus act.
  2. I have a Kindle. Is this a doc I want on a tablet to ref while flying or something to download and study? The Kindle is showing nothing at the download link, yet shows perfectly when going to the link from the computer.
  3. Amazon's Kindle Fire apps does not include DCS Virtual Cockpit. I believe I can "sideload" the free app onto the Kindle Fire, but to get full use it requires in app purchases which could be an insurmountable challenge. Has anyone succeeded at downloading and installing the full DCS Virtual Cockpit? Is anyone aware of a similar product working with Kindle Fire? Thanks! Carl
  4. We moved and after getting the house together, I'm now able to indulge my hobbies. The current update installed is 1.2.5. I expected that there would be an auto update, but it didn't happen. Where is the location to manually update? Should I proceed through 1.2.6-1.2.8 or is going directly to 1.2.8 sufficient? Thanks much!
  5. I went looking on iTunes for the iPhone version. Typed iWarthog in the search feature on both computer and iPhone. Search came up blank on both occasions. Anyone know if it's actually available right now? Any other possible download sites?
  6. Evil.Bonsai, I haven't! That is probably the best way to go about it. Great idea!
  7. Marklar, Okay. Thanks. I've never deactivated. I'll look into how that's done. Assume it's on ED's website somewhere.
  8. Hamblue, There is very little data per se. The computer overheated so much that the best one could do was just practice landings using one of the free missions. And those sometimes could not be completed because the computer would shut down.
  9. I currently use a laptop that is unsuitable for anything but the least taxing missions. In about a week and a half that will change with a new desk top. What is the best way to get DCS World and DCS A10C over to the new computer? Put it on a portable hard drive for transfer? Just re-download from ED? Any other thoughts? Thanks! Carl

    no sound at all

Interesting Hmmm. How does one measure satisfactory timeliness in response on this board from ED reps?

  12. Well, that didn't work. Thanks anyway.
  13. Going through the training missions and find it difficult because the space bar will not respond in a timely manner when the instructor calls for it. Actually, that's another issue. Since upgrading to 1.2, there is no voice for the instructor. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Carl
  14. Darkwolf187, "I wear glasses - admittedly mine have an anti-glare coat . . ." Interesting. I wonder if there are clip-ons that would have the anti-glare coat? Folks, thanks for all the responses re TrackIR, but I think I can fight through that one now. What suggestions do you have re the other challenges? Appreciate it. Carl
  15. Tailgate, it's in mapped mode. cichlidfan, windows have always been closed with blinds drawn. Light source remains the same.
  16. I used camera view when adjusting the light filtering. Had to turn it all the way up. Still had some red reflections from the glasses, but not as bad. This evening they didn't show at all. I attribute that to a pair of dirty glasses. :-)
  17. I have CH's Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, and Pedals. The map appears to work well when loaded. Here are the challenges: 1. I check all CH's controllers in CH Control Manager to ensure they're all functioning properly, then load the profile. I do this prior to each session with DCS World A-10. Entering Options in DCS World A-10, it is hit and miss whether it recognizes all three controllers. Normally, it's the Pedals that is unrecognized. I've found re-starting the computer is the only way to get the pedals to show in Options. Is this a known issue or am I mucking it up somehow? On other occasions, all three controllers will appear in options, but they won't respond when buttons are pushed. 2. I used the default keyboard bindings to assign keys, however when flying a training mission (I'm at the basic level for now) these keys do not respond. Keyboard commands are in addition to those assigned to CH controls. 3. My old eyes demand glasses. I've turned TrackIR v5 light filter all the way up yet the reflection from the glasses still causes some havoc, but much more manageable than previous. There must be a suitable option other than the Clip Pro that's out there. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Carl
  18. Challenges, challenges. First challenge. I downloaded and installed a profile for my CH Fighterstick and Throttle. Everything checked out in CH Control Manager, using a quick mission found the profile did not move over to the simulation. What step(s) did I miss? Second challenge. After the first challenge, I thought I'd check out the cockpit. Everything came up fine, however I was surprised to see that left clicking with the mouse on various toggles did not work. The toggles would respond by turning green as the cursor moved over them, however no joy clicking on them. Anybody have an idea what's going on? Thanks. Carl
