  1. When I first got the T50 and compared it to the Warhog, I thought that it would be hard to get used to the lighter weight of the T50, but after using it, I actually prefer the feel now to the Warthog. I wish the thumb switch was a 5 way, but other than than, I have nothing but praise for it so far. Maybe they'll make a retrofit switch for the thumb position...
  2. Sale for this is pending. Unless something odd happens between now and shipping, I will consider this sold.
  3. In a strange series of events, the slew sensor that was stolen off my porch a month ago was returned to my doorstep anonymously. The outer box had been opened, but the inner bag containing the sensor did not have its seal broken. Since I managed to get a replacement in the mean time, I no longer need this one. The first person to PM me can get it for the price on the Delta Sim Electronics website: 42.99 Pounds/ 59.00 US dollars/ 50.82 Euros. plus whatever shipping costs. I can only accept Paypal for payments. Would like to see this go to someone who can really use it.
  4. My slew arrived today, and since I had the throttle already opened and the original one removed, the replacement took about 2 minutes. Fit perfectly--snug but not overly tight, and it was a really nice touch to get an Allen key and a couple of extra screws in the bag with it. Quality design and quality execution all around. Kudos and thanks!
  5. You can be afraid to damage your gimbal assembly, but really what is the worst that could happen? If you strip the head of the screw, you leave that cam in place and just use it as is or you find someone that you trust who knows how to remove a stuck fastener. As a precautionary measure, you can heat the screw head with a soldering iron to soften up the thread locking compound. The electronics are wired neatly and can be easily avoided so that you never overheat anything important (but you may risk voiding your warranty if you take my advice). If you choose this route do it before you strip the head of the screw. One last data point for those keeping track. The cams I received were all extremely smooth on the surface that interacts with the bearing. Precision grinding and/or hand sanding and polishing could get them smoother, but you would probably never notice a real difference in performance.
  6. Received my T-50CM today I have to say that I've been impressed with Virpil as a company and the T-50 and base as a flight controller. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly it made the journey from Belarus to the western US, and even through I had to change my shipping address shortly before it was shipped, it arrived exactly where I asked it to be shipped. The overall fit and finish of the stick and base were excellent outside and in. It was lighter than I expected it to be, but it doesn't feel flimsy or insubstantial, and looking at the construction inside the base, all the components are well machined, well designed and assembled by people who seem to want to make a product well. The only design feature that didn't seem well thought out was the attachment of the cams in the gimbal. Kudos for the locking tab at the top of the cam, but as many people have noted before, the use of thread locking compound and soft steel screws with a Phillips head is not a good choice to hold the cam on. The attachment just above for the threaded collar where the stick is connected uses much higher quality flat head socket drive hex screws--4 of them. Why these type of screws were not also used for the very important cams is strange to me given that the cost could not be that much greater, and it would make the lives of people who like to evaluate different cam and spring arrangements much easier. I will replace these screws with hex drive or Torx/hexlobe versions the next time I open the base. It is a nice touch that they included extra cam screws with the alternate cams because at least one of those screws with strip 99% of the time the first time the cams are removed. I haven't had time to test the performance of the stick out yet in DCS but I remain optimistic.
  7. I was having a similar problem until I realized that the missile launch is not instantaneous with the press of the release button. I had to hold the button down for a second or two. Might not be what's happening to you, but it's worth a shot.
  8. Other than the occasional petty thievery, it seems to be a quiet and safe neighborhood. Who knows, maybe I pissed off a neighbor somehow. Don't trim my hedges as often as they'd like to see.
  9. Would have been nice I should have gotten mine today, and should be installing it right now, but our fine USPS decided to give it to some random stranger in my neighborhood who was more than happy to wander by and sign for it. I know for a fact that they will have no idea what it is, and it is of absolutely no use to them for anything. All that work gone to waste. Round two will not be shipped here again.
  10. Outstanding service. Really top notch. Makes me very pleased that I decided to place an order with Virpil!
  11. Virpil customer support is pretty awesome As I was writing a new reply here, I got a response from Virpil's customer service and was able to supply my work address to have my package sent there. This seems like the safest way to proceed. But I am absolutely amazed at the responsiveness of Virpil. My hat is off to their customer service.
  12. Thanks for the quick response. I'm glad to hear that the post office will hold it if I can't sign for it. That didn't quite work out for me today. I had ordered a slew upgrade for my throttle (I'm in the Pacific NW of the US). At 1:03 pm the delivery person said that they were leaving a note that no one was here to sign. Then at 1:06 a mysterious person (who obviously didn't come out of my house) stepped in to sign and take it away. The sad thing is that they will have no idea what it is and will never be able to use it. I don't trust anything to be delivered to my residence anymore.
  13. I just ordered a T-50CM on 6/22. It turns out that my neighbors are thieves, and are stealing my packages. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the ship to address on this to my place of work? I put in a ticket asking this, but I thought the response might be quicker here, and I'm worried that it will get shipped before I get an answer. Thanks in advance.
  14. I've wanted to do this too, but everything I've been able to find out about controlling the color makes it seem like it is hard coded into the module itself. I'm not sure that users are able to modify the panel colors. I'd be glad to be proven wrong, though.
  15. I thought there would be more of an issue ordering from the US, but after I had managed to turn off all my privacy settings, the transaction went through without an issue. There was definitely an option to choose my state as well. I'm in the Pacific NW and shipping to me was about 111 BYU or about $55. I order a full Mongoose T50 so I'm guessing the throttle may be a bit heavier?
  16. I was curious about this issue and looked into the status of Belarus. I found an article saying that we were extending a policy that reopened trade with Belarus. I also live on the west coast of the US, and I was just able to place an order successfully with Virpil. My credit card company initially flagged the transaction, but when I indicated that I had actually made the purchase, it went through without a problem. Just wanted to add this data point to anyone from the states who was considering trying to order Virpil gear.
  17. Glad that I happened to see that new switches were available when I did. Really excellent work, and I'm looking forward to my switch getting shipped!
  18. Tried this last night, and it worked perfectly.
  19. Many thanks--appreciate the fast response. I did notice that the base was neutral on the map, but I didn't think much of it. I'll give that a try now.
  20. I opened the Georgian winter instant action mission in the editor to change a couple of weapons load outs and saved it to a new name. The changes appeared fine in the saved file, but now when I return to base for a re-load, the ground crew won't respond. I've checked all the radio positions and been in the the same spot where I had been in the original mission to get a re-load, but nothing seems to get the ground crew to copy requests in the modified mission. I've tried this several times in both the original and my saved mission and it always works in the original, but never in my version. Did my minor modifications break some of the triggers? Any thoughts. Using DCSW 1.2.2 and the most recent A10 module. Thanks.
