  1. Totally forget I made this thread but for anyone who may stumble across this thread I thought I would post the solution. Leaving the APU on especially after take off is generally the cause of this issue. I have speculated on possible reasons why this is (bleed air valve closing, APU gen shutting off cooling fan for the apu, etc etc), but I won't list them all here since I am far from an A-10C expert lol. The manual does mention something to the effect of shutting down the APU before take off. So my general rule of thumb is double check that the APU and APU gen are off before doing your run up to 80. Honestly just following the normal startup procedure and turning it off as instructed is the best approach since we never do ground power starts with the A-10 in DCS anyway. But if for some reason you followed the ground power startup procedure then double checking the APU before run up is a good back up habit to have!
  2. I feel like it happens far to often to be a bird strike. I have had it occur 4 times on my VFW's server. Once while idling on the taxi way.
  3. Sometimes I get random engine fires in multiplayer and can't explain why. I asked the server admin if there was a random failure settings or something he said he doesn't thinks so and if there was it shouldn't be on. I thought maybe I was over stressing the engines but I just had a right engine fire with the throttle at 80% at angels 12, flying level in a slight right bank. Also once I put the fire out I can't restart the engine which to me indicates its not a flame out but actual engine damage. I should also mention this has happened to me while sitting on a taxi way at idle. Any ideas on what's causing this?
  4. So I know there have been lots of posts about this but here are 2 clips from my stream. If I am doing something wrong please point it out to me but there is no reason the tgp should move like it does. I promise I am not accidently hitting the slew it happens way to frequently for a slip of the finger like that. Side note on the first clip why do the vehicles get knocked back from the explosion then get sucked back in like they are made of paper? https://clips.twitch.tv/RenownedGlutenFreePancakeDansGame https://clips.twitch.tv/CogentStormyEchidnaRickroll
  5. So I have never set auto pilot without trimming first when the plane is running a really unbalanced loadout. But I have many times set the autopilot with the aircraft ever so slightly out of balance in the original a-10 and never had this massive drift issue. But I will endeavor to trim every time regardless from now on. Just thought I would point out how much of a issue this is or appears to be.
  6. Auto Pilot path seems unable to hold a slightly unbalanced airframe on the path. It will slowly lean in the direction of the extra weight on the wing. If I trim it out it will then be able to fly a mostly straight path. Anyone else experienced this? Did something change with the new A-10?
  7. This did not work for me. I set multiple things to ON. Including SPI, Steerpoint and FM and whenever any of them were in my hud the HCMS would switch off. What am I doing wrong?
  8. I have the same issues if you go quickly enough you can get it to work but 90% of the time it doesn't work and I would ofc like at least more then 30 seconds to set up my jet. I obviously don't have the source script in front of me but I would bet good money that the issue lies with what ever lines of code trigger the "Press space bar to let saint know you have been hit. Use the F10 menu to call hits on saint". Whenever that message appears during start up regardless of where I am in the voice chain, I can no longer progress the mission. I've had it pop up right away during start up, a few minutes into it and even mid convo with saint asking me to check in on PRI. Regardless of when it happens I can longer progress dialog at least dialog set to play while on the cv.
  9. One is there a way/will there be a way to boresight the TGP like you could in the previous patch? Second when I switch my UHF radio to the backup radio the input freq changes on the DED to whatever I had the backup set to. When I then switch back from the backup it does not remember the old freq and instead keeps the frequency from the backup radio. Is this how it works in the real jet? Thanks in Advance!
  10. Yeah if real jf-17 had a third radio or if data link was also used for communication I would definitely use it. But I haven't heard anything like that. Thanks for the info though!
  11. not the direction i wanted this thread to head in but I also generally draw the line at 'was it used". The triple rack mavs has never been used in combat by the f-16 but those rockets have been. Thats why i was wondering if we could get them. I have been flying the jf-17 a lot and basically decided to learn the aircraft solely for the laser guided rockets. I love those rockets and would really love to see a nato version on the f-16 or a-10.
  12. Any chance our f-16 in dcs will get this weapon or some version of laser/electro optical guided rockets? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Precision_Kill_Weapon_System
  13. Any chance we will see this weapon or some version of laser guided rockets on the a-10c 2? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Precision_Kill_Weapon_System
  14. not part of the real jet so I must likely won't use it
