  1. I've only just noticed it. But the wheels of the F/A18 do not retract correctly, they stick out like 50%. What would be a cracker screencap desktop image is spoiled by fat wheels protruding from the fuselage sides. Just a tweak to shorten the retract animation arc. Cheers, BrassEm.
  2. Please post more details.
  3. OUCH!, went back to the SA-13 training exercises and bam! How primative were they.
  4. Yes, it takes some skill in leading to target on a fast mover, mud mover is easy with TOW, but learning with practice. At what range did you find it bleed off with the AFM?
  5. Interesting. I've observed that it gets out to 3000m then strays off even under optical targeting. Keeping the RADAR off has got to be an advantage so the fast movers don't get a RWR. Or worse yet, a HARM lock.
  6. There is also the function to range the RADAR display. In pic1. The range indicator is 20km. Using the [Right Alt] + [-] keys and [Right Alt] + [=] keys, you can zoom the RADAR display in or out in steps of 20km, 10km and 5km. (Depending on weapons system of course. Tunga in this case. Pics to follow.) Pic 1. RADAR for Tunga at 20km Pic 2. RADAR for Tunga at 10km Pic 3. RADAR for Tunga at 5km
  7. Nice work! Never got to the Iglas tonight. Thanks for clearing up what the dot indicator does. (Acted like blocked line of sight for me.) Found you still have to lock to aquire. Especially for the tunga 9M, For best results go to zoom and track it in to target in the lock box if you can. (As per the real SOP's) You guys beat me to the punch with another excellent presentation, but here is what I've found so far for those who want to see another angle on radar screen layout. Pic1. Locked target with radar on (30mm) Pic2. Radar off (30mm) Pic3. Radar on with target locked and aquiring fire solution . Pic4. Radar on and tracking and locked. It just keeps getting better and better!
  8. The tunguska is a good combination anti-air, you just have to be prudent with the cannon as you can run out pretty quick and reload time is horrendous. The 9M311 is okay but it depends on target aspect. The Tor has the reach and a satisfying launch animation. The radar appears in the top left hand corner on screen. Use default key "I" to toggle the radar on and off. When ON (shown by the yellow arrow to the bottom left of the radar screen), the air targets show up as always on green pips if pinged, plus there is a radar screen sweep. Very enjoyable to use. (Been practicing on some F-18C' in mission editor.)
  9. Plus the nice rush of adrenaline when a missile lock sounds and you scramble for the flare dispenser.
  10. Hello, This is a precursory post, I have searched without an answer. After a major hardware update I've come back to LOMAC to see how the hardware would improve the game performance. It has been a long time so I needed to do major updates. After a visit to the DCS store I now have all the latest software. Installation was straight forward and was starting the game okay. The next step to flying was the controller assignments... My original LOMAC control was only through just a MSFFB2 controller. All straight forward. The new FC3 sees the MSFFB2 controller okay. 1. I cannot assign a new controller axis. FC3 sees the following devices; CH PRO Throttle VRinsight FLIGHT MASTER Yoke GF-TQ6 Throttle MSFFB2 Joystick Razer Nostromo N-52 Saitek Rudder Pedals Yet I cannot change the assignments to the axis like I can in other games. Nothing happens. [EDIT] Double Click. Went back to LOMAC and the above devices were listed. Was able to assign axis function no problem. Back to FC3. Basic Joy_? function is across all controllers by default. Deleted the joy function from all the controllers for the flight axis command. Double clicked on the controller column I want with the flight axis command row. A new dialog appeared. Moved the controller axis till it registered in the dialog box. Okay and saved the profile. The thing that threw me was there was no destinquishing feature to tell which i.e. Joy_X belonged to what controller other than the column. Just had a good instruction flight in the A-10C. Thank you ED! 2. Not all USB devices listed. I have many USB devices ready to link to FC3 but they do not list? CH PRO Throttle VRinsight FLIGHT MASTER Yoke VRinsight Boeing MCP COMBO II GF-TQ6 Throttle MSFFB2 Joystick Razer Nostromo N-52 Saitek Rudder Pedals Logitech G-15 Keyboard Razer Mouse TrackIR 5 Turtlebeach Headset VRinsight CDUII I am familiar with LUA, so if that is the path I must take to get these devices to work so be it. I would appreciate some guidance though. I am really disappointed that I could not fly "off the shelf" quickly like all the other sims. [EDIT] GUID's Found the .lua's for the recognised hardware. Looks like the GUIDs are used just like FSUIPC. Just gotta find the links. The CDUII is a must! thanks in advance!
