  1. I got my Rift S and to be honest so far not that impressed because of how few sims there are out that actually work out of the box with just the updates and with VR support.
  2. I don't know what I am going to do with this thing nothing but problems except in DCS. Steam is a nightmare to get things to work properly.Wearing glasses is a constant constant hassle not wanting to scratch the lenses since none of my 5 pairs fall in the recomended length of frames...really? The only games that are worth it so far for me are Elite Dangerous and DCS. Doesn't seem woth the price today. Give it a couple more days.
  3. So if I am now getting 60 fps without VR with everything cranked up to max the best I can hope for with VR is 40fps with the same cranked up settings slightly tinkered? Is that a real 40fps or just through the two lenses ( 80/2=40fps ) and the program is really funning at 80fps? Which number 40fps or 80 fps are you actually viewing the game through the two lenses? Reason I am asking is in other flight sims intense scenery would bring a true 40fps to a crawl and become unplayable.
  4. Frame Rate 2.5.5 What FPS can I expect with the Oculus Rift S? I have a 1080TI, 32gb memory;I7 cpu on Windows 10. Without the VR I get 60 FPS.
  5. I purchased the F-18 yesterday and have not recieved the Miles: 7990 for the F-18 purchase.
  6. Thanks I unchecked in Misc. Game Mode put DCS in Simulation Mode .Something else I checked in Gameplay or Misc. about synchronize hotas at start up and unchecked Avionics (thanks avionics did it). Anything else I should check/uncheck? Should I just use the default F-18 profile or is there better ones to install? Again, thanks
  7. Sure it's answered somewhere I am having problems with the F-18 and Warthog Hotas they are not playing well together at all. No reponse to any bindings except pitch, roll, thrust. Went through the game or sim differences and still no reponse. This is not an Alpha product it should work out of the box with the popular Warthog of all things for the price asked.
  8. Great responses and very helpful. I enjoy flight sims and have been flying flight simulators for years but have shied away from DCS because the manual reading was waaay to complicated to not only read but actually understand it all and be able to put it into practice a day or a month later if I remembered what I read (I got tired of reading two pages ...old timer I guess) I think there are very devoted individuals who do read it all every page and understand it all through the years and are extrremely proficient but those I believe are few and in between and most are like me just watch a dozen or so videos skim through what you don't understand in the manual and off you go. I will give it a try and read the entire pdf manual and view the how to videos and look at it as a good summer read for August.
  9. How do you do it? Do you REALLY read 300+ pages of the PDF (F-14)? How can you absorb all that information? Or do most people just view a few videos and off they go.
  10. I have alot of the modules and play when I am in the mood It's my favorite (only one really) modern combat flight sim. I may brush up on what I have (dozen or so aircraft) and wait for sale or just buy the Hornet and Tomcat since I doubt they will be on sale in the near future.
  11. I remember getting emails every couple of weeks about some sale at DCS. Anychance the F-18 or F-14 will go on sale soon?
  12. I know there was a somewhat recent early summer sale but when is the next one I'd like to buy a couple of items and enjoy the discounts.
  13. Hello, I have several DCS Aircraft and a Warthog Hotas. What I gather so far is that probably the safest and actually best profiles are the ones I would make from the game's modules drop down menu in Options and just add what i would like. There isn't much in downloading Profiles already done (some are very old) from the download section of the website and I agree I don't use TARGET GUI. Is this the safest way to make reliable profiles that won't go bonkers or are there better choices?
  14. I have been away for a while and got a new computer and decided to re-install DCS and modules. Well it has been a long process with the end being i can't seem to get DCS to play in a higher resolution unless I set my desktop to the same resolution ( which I don't want to do every time I want to play DCS) Am I doing something wrong or is DCS just broken at this point and needs to be patched?
