Honestly I would simply encourage people to just STOP pre-ordering from Pimax. Period. Sadly when I bought my OG it was way after the whole commotion about the pre-orders (their site said it was in stock and ready for shipping - and even then they still took 3 weeks to ship?)... so I didn't know that they were like that. After the Super, whatever comes next, DO NOT BUY until they clearly have no backlog anymore. You'll be doing everyone a favor, and not encouraging companies to treat customers like this.

Which controller did you get? 1.0 or 2.0?

In my opinion, absolutely. I have an Orion 2 with the standard F-15E throttle and I use it for everything. In DCS. I fly the Hornet regularly. I am very very happy with it, beyond words. Throttle input is precise and smooth, quality seems good and plenty of buttons. Its software, SimAppPro is a bit weird to use but it works. All in all, I could not have been happier. 9/10 from me.

Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.

Yup, I have to agree. Based on experience and Pimax's history (and other businesses too), it is important to decipher their 'marketing speak'. When I placed my order in April, Jaap said in an official video that 'orders placed then are expected start shipping in June'. Translation: We have no idea when we will ship, but it will be nowhere near any reasonable time frame, therefore in order to not scare away buyers and keep the cash flow going, let's say June. This way, we can keep stalling when buyers ask for estimations - and people will keep their orders thinking their order is just a couple weeks/months away. Seriously guys, this has happened over and over and over again with Pimax. Given their repeated history, there is no reason to take their words in any literal sense or expect any kind of transparency. They've done this several times with pre-orders going back years and plenty of people (like me) put up with it and keep pre-ordering, so it'd be foolish to expect otherwise. If you want to help break this cycle, do not buy unless it's readily available for shipping. I just kept my order because I can't wait a second longer for something that doesn't have the claustrophobic 100 HFOV like every other headset. After that, hopefully I won't be in the the pre-order train again for the next gen. td;dr, disregard Pimax's proven lies. It will be shipped when it will be shipped. Sit and wait. -

I am guessing not. Remember: It is known that time and time again, Pimax lies about their FOV numbers. OG Crystal supposedly had 115HFOV (when it reality it has more like 105) they originally advertised the Super 50ppd as having 135HFOV when in truth it's closer to 125, so I would assume that the Ultrawide will have barely a few degrees more for an optical engine that will take even longer to be delivered and with compromised binocular overlap. Again this is just a guess but I think it's better to wait for user reviews - NOT affiliate reviews. Honest user reviews take much longer to show up but are a better representation than the dozens of usual first YouTubers that Pimax compensates. -

Mid April 25 order - They said delivery expected at June but we all know that ain't happening. Knowing Pimax, I'd expect mine to show up end of Summer. -
Yeah in that case the overlap of the 50ppd will feel about the same as the OG, with 20 degrees of non-overlap vision probably. Crystal OG: 105 HFOV, 85 BO = 20 degrees no overlap Crystal 50ppd: 125 HFOV, 105 BO = 20 degrees no overlap Ultrawide: likely 135 HFOV, 90 BO = 45 degrees no overlap So basically with the Ultrawide the non-covered area by overlap could maybe be twice as wide as the other variants. Imagine 45 degrees without 3D-effect and with brightness difference. Not sure how big of an impact that could have and how much eye-strain it could case. Like I mentioned before, better wait for reviews and reports from people who were not paid by Pimax before pre-ordering imho.

Remember guys that Pimax lies when it comes to their FOV numbers. They used to say the OG Crystal had 125 HFOV when in reality it has about 105 HFOV. They originally said the Super 50ppd had 135 HFOV and in reality it's closer to like 126 HFOV (as reported by reviewers). Probably they are lying about the Ultrawide's FOV as well. Better wait for user reviews (not affiliated). Also, assuming the numbers are correct, with lower binocular overlap in the Ultrawide differences in brightness will be a lot more noticeable (since about 60% of the screen will overlap, compared to close to 80% of the 50ppd).

Hello everyone, Prior to the Hornet, I was learning the F-15E (RIP), and the LANTIRN pod had a pretty handy function, which allowed you to quickly and easily slave the TPOD to waypoints without having them turned into designated targets. As far as I know, the only way to slave the ATFLIR or LITENING to a waypoint is the actually turn the waypoint into an active designation. For example, if I'm following a flight plan/sequence, and before IP or TGT I have 2 or 3 more waypoints to follow, by designating the TGT in case I want to have an overview of the target area and check for other threats way before I get there, I lose the range and ETA for each waypoint ahead of me obviously. So what I do usually, is designate the TGT waypoint, move the TGP slightly and then go back to selecting the NAV waypoints. This however is tedious and cumbersome to do, and leaving the TGP in free track mode can be unreliable, since for no reason I can think of, sometimes it slews itself off its previous position slightly, especially if I move the plane around. Is there any other way around that, perhaps similar to what the F-15E had?

Yeah I'm in the EU. You have 14 days by law to return a product if you're not happy with it - as long as it still looks clean and unused and it's complete of course.
-
Couldn't come into terms with mine and returned it. Focus on both close and far distance felt off, headache inducing and it was also very uncomfortable. Software really wasn't the best either. I will think twice before complaining about Pimax again from now on...

@Monkman911 and @Panzerlang, I am having the same issue you described but I don't have the Pimax hand controllers (my Crystal is a Sim edition) to re-center the view. Do you know if there is any other way to center the Pimax view without the controllers?
-
Are you in the EU? If so you have 14 days to return the headset. If you can't get it to work properly it would be advisable to do that instead of having a non-functional device that is very expensive. I've seen a VR1 on eBay already lol

@Thanatos31 Same here... updated Pimax Play and quad views in DCS is dead. What conflict was that exactly? How did you solve it? I tried disabling Tobii in the Windows Services to no avail.
