  1. I sure does. ...which is kind of surprising when you consider how hard it was to install on this motherboard ;)
  2. Right until yesterday I was dealing with what many others here described as stuttering/micro-freezes in DCS 1.5.5. It was driving me crazy - DCS was the only game to do that and apart from those issues I had 100-200 fps. It happened most often when using zoom or looking around in the cockpit. My rig for reference: Intel i5 6600k @ 4.5GHz OC Asus Z170P D3 mobo 8GB RAM Geforce 970 Windows 10 I tried to go back to my CPU stock values, as some of you reported issues when overclocking, but it didn't help. My second thought was to lower the setting to their minimal values. The only thing that accomplished was making everything look like shit, but it was still stuttering... Next, I bought the cheapest SSD I could find and installed DCS on it = no effect, problems were still there. I went ahead and reinstalled Win 10 onto the SSD, installing DCS right after that (also on SSD) = no effect. So the only option left was to try with Windows 7 - and my mobo did not make that install easy, let me tell you that. Anyway, four hours later I was looking at the default Win 7 desktop installed on the SSD. I installed DCS (also on SSD) and voila = no more problems. I went ahead and turned pretty much all important graphics options to max (apart from the DoF - wtf ED?) along with v-sync and right now I'm looking at stable 60 fps when zooming and looking around. Granted, there is an occasional stutter here and there, but that's something I had even before this whole mess started. Overall it's a smooth, fluid experience and I can fly again. I do not guarantee it will help everyone, but maybe you'll be closer to solving this particular issue if it's driving you crazy - like it was driving me crazy. Thought I'd share my experience :)
  3. +1 for Delan. I've been using it for several years now :)
  4. Awesome scenery, thank you!

  6. In short - mechanics (everything inside) of both rudder pedals from Saitek are exactly the same. Difference is the looks and the way they work. In Combat set your heel is placed on the floor and you operate the pedals with the upper part of your feet. In Pro Flight your heel is placed on the pedal itself - like in many civilian airplanes. I bought the standard model and can recommend them.
  7. I cannot recommend the X52 (standard, silver version), after using it for several months. - very loose spring, not enough centering force, - my stick handle was woobly - it was not properly mounted on the shaft (?) and was moving around 3-5mm in all directions; had the set replaced, only to find new one had the exact same problem, - rotaries and slider on the throttle are sometimes spiking madly, impossible to use them with any precision, - ministick on throttle is rubbish, practicaly unusable, - drivers and programming software were problematic, often had to reconnect my joystick because it stopped responding (bug with mfd display), - the "plastic" feel is overwhelming Overall, given the cost of the set, I wouldn't recommend it, especially after trying TWO of them with exact same issues. My recommendation - get a little more money and buy the PRO version (it solves some of the problems and is better built), or buy a CH Pro Throttle (or any other throttle) and use it with FF2. I am currently using the X52 throttle with MS FF2 (works great, although I miss some buttons...), while still trying to decide if I should go with TM Warthog or CH Products for a complete replacement.
  8. One thing I should probably mention - on the standard version (pro flight) your heels are placed on the pedals, while on the combat version they are on the base of the unit. It would be best to try both units out yourself, the standard version takes a bit of getting used to, especially if you're a car driver :)
  9. I had no trouble getting Helios to work on W8, works exactly like on W7.
  10. They just look different, everything else (including the inside mechanism) is the same between those two models. I personally prefer the not-combat ones, as I also fly a lot of civ sims.
