  1. Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think you really need to. I think the Track IR software takes care of that. That is, unless you don't use it?
  2. I wasn't even aware of the fluctuations when starting engines. Starting from today I'm gonna turn them on with electric systems off just in case ED adds this (and i guess its a good habit to have.)
  3. ^ Replied I don't think i'll use the clutch thing much its just that i payed full price for something, i expect it to work completely, you know.
  4. I just got my new Saitek X52 and its definitely a nice upgrade to my Logitech Extreme 3D. The only issue I'm having right now seems to be that i can't change profiles on the fly using the I button and the Hat switch. When i press the clutch (I), it starts flashing along with the Hat but moving the Hat doesn't scroll through any of the 3 profiles i created. The driver was installed before the stick was plugged in and a reboot was made after i installed the software. Any suggestions?
  5. Personal phones are strictly forbidden in Soviet Russia. But on a more serious note, is it your wingman who keeps talking or another flight on the same frequency? I think there is a gameplay option to disable allied chatter.
  6. Ok i found a solution. I don't know if its a bug or if it was wanted but you can only use the comms with RALT + \ once airborne. EDIT: Just noticed its what Watari was saying.
  7. I had another similar issue earlier today: Before take off everything was fine, i got authorization to take off and all but once in the air the comms key wouldn't even work anymore. Only after i landed could i use the comms again. What did i forget?
  8. I don't think self preservation should be called cowardice. Its one thing to be courageous in the face of danger but trying to avoid danger altogether is always best IMO. Still, I understand your point. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Thanks Erforce, i found the correct frenquency and got a responce from the tower. I thought i saw in the manual that the game usually spawns you with the right frequency already selected. Is there a quick reference table with the games airfield frequencies?
  11. I'm trying to learn to start the engine on my own using SDeath's checklist. I'm at the point where i have to ask for start up clearance but i get no response. Here's what i did before asking for clearance (from the checklist.) CHECK PARKING BRAKE ON BATT 1 BATT 2 INTERCOM LIGHT TEST EKRAN/VOICE MESSAGE UNIT TEST SPU-9 RADIO PANEL GRND CREW REQUEST EXTERNAL POWER EXTERNAL DC EXTERNAL AC SPU-9 RADIO PANEL VHF 2 VHF 1 ON VHF 2 ON EKRAN/HYDRAULICS POWER RESET MASTER WARNING STOPPED ENG EGT GAUGE TEST INU HEAT INU POWER K-041 SHKVAL POWER ABRIS POWER STANDBY ATTITUDE INDICATOR (SAI) FIRE SUPRESSION SYSTEM TEST FIRE SUPRESSION SYSTEM OPER FUEL QTY FUEL METER GAUGE TEST APU SHUTOFF VALVE SWITCH FWD BOOSTPUMP AFT BOOSTPUMP CHECK CROSSFEED ON I did not change the default R-800 frequency (124.0) maybe that's the problem? Any ideas?

  16. They say to get out of a vortex ring, you have to pitch forward to get out of it. But it doesn't absolutely have to be forward, right? You just have to move out of it regardless of the direction?
  17. Too bad for the trees. Hopefully they will implement this in a future patch. Does staying at very low altitude help in any way against being spotted/locked?
  18. While reading the Ka-50 manual I learnt for the first time about vortex ring state (I'm completely new to helos.) Keeping this in mind, is it possible to hide behind trees/buildings, pop up to fire a few missiles and quickly hide down again? Does this phenomenon affect this technique at all? Or is this tactic not even used by Black Shark pilots?
  19. I just bought the game (few hours ago) and decided to try taking off without any help. I got it off the ground just fine so i started flying in a straight line. "How hard can it be" i thought. Then THAT happened. Exactly like you said Yurgon. How clueless i was about what just happened hahaha. I'm glad I now know why it happened.
  20. Scratch that, found my answer. For anyone else wondering the same thing: What i did was download the module directly from ED's download page and used the key from the game i bought.
  21. Quick question: If i buy a DCS module from another store like Gamersgate or Gamefly, I will still be able to add them to DCS World, correct? Just want to make sure before i buy. P.S. I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to ask this but it seemed right to me...
  22. I noticed this during the 2nd mission of the Su-25T Career. Has anyone else encountered this bug before? Either way i thought it was kinda funny :lol:
  23. I managed to successfully complete the first mission thanks to you guys. Thanks. What i found really useful is taking a close look at the mission planner and take note of the SAM and AAA and simply stay out of their range of fire. I circled behind friendly lines like Rico said. Picked my targets from afar, then turn around, went low and fast and circled back up when I was far back enough to start another pass.
