  1. Just my luck... I'm finally ready to buy and every store i look is either more expensive then the rest or sold out. I ended up buying from Amazon.ca but they say it should only ship within 2 - 4 weeks. Bummer :(
  2. Yes its called Radar Altitude Hold and is activated with LALT 5.
  3. Thanks guys, the tips are really starting to help.
  4. Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna go with the X52 since its the only HOTAS that seems to have a twist axis. Now i just have to find a store in Canada that has one in stock...
  5. Cali: A little over a week now. Thanks for all the tips guys, they will definitely be helpful.
  6. Yes but how... I'm just looking for some general tips on how not to get shot.
  7. Perhaps if you checked off cockpit head movement in the options?
  8. After about a week of learning the Su-25T in fast missions I thought i was ready for the campaign. Oh how i was mistaken. I learnt the hard way i have no idea what I am doing, I need help! Especially how to survive on the battlefield. Any tips would be much appreciated.
  9. I would probably be getting a Saitek X52 and i believe, if I am not mistaken, that it has a twist axis so it should work fine.
  10. Currently, what i use to play flight sims is a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and a TrackIR 4 (with obviously a mouse and keyboard.) I'm thinking of upgrading my setup a bit and i was wondering what should be prioritized between rudder pedals (i heard a lot of talk about them being almost mandatory back when i flew WWII planes) and a HOTAS kit. Personally I'm leaning towards the HOTAS as my Logitech joystick feels somewhat cheap and inaccurate but i would like to hear from more experienced pilots before i make the jump. Any thoughts?
  11. Ahh thank you so much for clearing that up. I was starting to think it was my copy of the game.
  12. No i went around to land from the same direction as the first time. So from what i gathered so far, I think I'm the only one experiencing this strange AP behavior. Correct?
  13. It seems you have to nail the landing on the first shot because you can't count on the autopilot for a second try... I was coming in for landing earlier but had to abort because my speed was too high (my error.) I disengaged the AP, turned around and lined up for a second attempt from a good distance away (around 20 KMs.) I turned the AP on but it just didn't want anything to do with this and flew me straight towards the mountains in the background instead. Does this sound strange to anyone?
  14. Thank you. It usually happens in landing mode. Thanks, that,s a good tip. I remember reading the AP uses the trim controls to fly the plane which i thought was odd at first but now that i think of it, it makes sense. I assigned the AP override button on my joystick since, according to the manual, is actually placed on the control stick of the real Su-25Ts.
  15. First off I have to say my background is in WWII plane simulators so please excuse my ignorance when it comes to autopilots. I just recently started flying the Su-25T in DCS world (huge props to the devs for making it free) and its finally all starting to make sense to me except for one thing: It seems the autopilot is always looking to kill me... When on final approach, I often find myself having to override the autopilot to stop it from running my plane straight in the ground. Its not a speed issue though as it usually happens when i'm still in the 400 kmh range. It works fine most of the times but on other occasions it seems to goof up bad. I can still play the game fine with the autopilot on, I just can't trust it completely but i have to ask... Is this normal AP behavior or just a bug in the game?
