  1. Make SURE there isn't another controller mapped to the throttle. For some reason, the default settings on my system mapped both the Hotas Warthog Throttle and my Saitek Pedals to the throttle. Funny how it did that when the Saitek Pedals didn't even have that axis. Anyway, you really want to go through and check everything. It seems that no matter how few axes your controller has, DCS will try to map functions that really don't make any sense. -Charles
  2. The P51D requires almost constant trimming. As fuel burns it'll need to be trimmed. If you add or reduce power it'll need to be trimmed. It isn't difficult, but something you'll be doing a LOT. I use the Warthog Hotas trim hat for this. For the rudder trim, I use LCtrl+LWD and LCtrl+RWD. Seems easy enough. -Charles
  3. GTX-680 is a great card. The GTX-690 is out there too and it's really two 680's in one. -Charles
  4. I usually Pause TrackIR for landings. It eliminates the tendency to try to steer the aircraft with my head. With the P51D, I look down just a touch so the view grabs the airspeed indicator and then pause TrackIR there. Makes landings quite a bit easier. -Charles
  5. There's a very slick way to use the Joystick Pinky Lever for both TrackIR Center and TrackIR Pause. I have mine setup that way. Joystick Pinky Lever Short - TrackIR Center Joystick Pinkly Lever Long - TrackIR Pause
  6. I've read this several times now and cannot understand what you're saying here. What do you mean by "axis rotaries?" Right now I have the trim on the P51 set to the trim hat on the Warthog. If I hold it, it turns the trim wheel. I use LCtrl+LWD and LCtrl+RWD to trim the rudder. Thanks! -Charles
  7. OK, Rockeyes, I found the setting and set this one up the way you described. It does work quite well. The wings of the A10 are still distorted from what they should look like but everything else is much easier to manage this way. Thanks! -Charles
  8. Wow. I thought this was going to be fairly easy. Three monitors? Sure, just select "3 Monitors" from the setup. Anyway, I've been reading up on all of this and it's a LOT more complicated than I thought. At any rate, I did set it up as you recommended. "One" monitor that spans the total resolution. That keeps the horizon nice and straight now. The only thing I hate is how it distorts the wings if you look left or right over your shoulder. Don't suppose you know any way around that, do you? Thanks a ton! -Charles
  9. Gang, I wish I could have come up with a better title but I can't figure out how to explain this. So fairly generic setup: 3 x 24" Monitors. 3 across on one nVidia GTX 680. TrackIR 5. All I did was go into DCS and set "3 Monitors" and then select 5760x1200. Other options are: - Full Screen off - VSYNC off - TSSAA on So everything starts up just fine and I'm sitting on the ramp. This is where it's weird. The horizon looks like this: /-----\ The center monitor has the horizon right across. The left monitor has the horizon going from the upper right of the monitor down to the lower left. Opposite for the right monitor. If I pitch my head up and down, I can find a place where the horizon on all three monitors is streight all the way across. Like this : ------------- If I look down a bit, the horizon does this: \____/ If this doesn't make any sense, I can setup a digital camera and take a photo. Is it supposed to look like this? Thanks! -Charles
  10. So I had this same problem. No matter where I was, weather, wind, weapons stores, no weapon stores... it didn't matter. My HUD was always skewed way over to the left. I messed around with it for days until I finally figured it out. It was my crappy joystick. I had some old Microsoft stick with the crap "twist" rudder and it was holding some right rudder all the time. I only figured this out by disabling the rudder completely. I got it to fly by setting a pretty big deadzone on the rudder but I'd already decided to pitch that joystick for a Warthog anyway. Hope this helps... -Charles
  11. Are you sure about that? If SAS is keeping the turn coordinated then why does the turn/slip ball slide if I don't add rudder? Maybe SAS is adding some rudder in but all indications I'm getting from turn/slip and the HUD indicate that the turn is not coordinated. Or at least not fully coordinated. -Charles
  12. OK, but you're putting the airplane into a weird crab every time you turn. Yea, it'll turn without rudder but the airplane will slip forcing you into a much wider arc. You can see this on the turn/slip indicator. The little ball will slide every time you turn without rudder input. In addition the rudder can be used to aim the gun. If you're off to the side a degree or two, you can just push the nose with the rudder instead of having to bank the entire aircraft. This sim is meant to be as close to real as we can get. No "real" A-10 pilot would fly without using the rudder. -Charles
  13. You actually looked pretty darned good for your third attempt. Way better than I did and I STILL have never connected with that stupid tanker. Since I have no real advice, the only thing I'd say is "Mute that Tacan beep." It's over on the Intercom panel. I actually assigned some key to it and setup a VAC command. I have "Mute ILS" and "Mute Tacan." -Charles
  14. Yea I thought about that. Just going on the filesize alone, the compiled script is just as big as AutoHotKey.exe anyway. Now that doesn't mean they both use the same amount of resources, of course. At any rate, I'm going to leave it like it is for now since I may tweak it a bit more and it's easy to do with it still in a script. Just tell AKH to reload it. -Charles
  15. Gotcha! That's exactly the information I needed. Thanks a ton! -Charles
