  1. Dear ED Developers, the last Mission of the Su-27's campaign, "Fortress Mozdok" is impossible to accomplish. I can get rid of all the F\A-18's, but bombers, and attackers do not do anything. I give them commands over the special radio menu after enemy fighters are down, but this does not help. They just circle around, and then return to base. The mission results into a failure. The first 8 missions in the campaign are tested, and can be accomplished in the new v1.2.8. Tested this on v1.2.7 and on v1.2.8.b - the result is the same.
  2. Dear Developers, The missile, R-27ER, was shot into the Moon, and should have reached its target for sure, but, unfortunately, it simply disappeared at the altitude of ~328 083 ft (~99 999 m). My biggest complaint is, of course, the fact that the Moon has survived. Track attached. Now, the actual reports: > 1. Missile R-27ER flies into that dark, mysterious sky without bleeding almost any speed... > 2. ...and then suddenly disappears. > 3. The map scale is way off (picture attached) > 4. The map becomes dark. World does not become black if you far from earth. The day is still there! :) Thank you for looking into these reports. SkateZilla, yes, this is serious. The missile flies ultra fast into space and then disappear. In contrast, in the attached track, other types of the launched missiles bleed speed fast and eventually fall down. Also, personally to me, the map scale appears to be way off. siipperi, do not mean to offend you, but you make no sense. Are you saying that during day time Earth looks dark? The lit up part of Earth does not become dark if you fly away from the planet. You can see the photos from the satellites on internet. SkateZilla, Tested and replicated on both, v1.2.7 and v1.2.8b. 3. Dear Eagle Dynamics, So many of your clients are using manually modified input configuration files. With every update you change\add\remove something to these files. Oftenly, changes are significant. The first inconvenience appear when every single update forces your clients to burn down many hours of their lives for one single purpose - re-assigning the controls for their modern, complex controlling devices. Most of the time, the update just delete the user-crafted configuration and write a new, clean one. No conversion, no nothing. Is it bad? Probably. Gamers have to modify the files manually because this is the only way to add things like Action on Button UP, and other. These configuration features are not accessible through the options menu, and this is the second unpleasant inconvenience. These arguments should be easily accessible for everyone. The GUI key configuration feature in the options menu, as well as the whole key binding system is far from perfect as for today, and is in critical need for your attention, dear developers. --> So how to improve this part of the game? 1. Add the hidden key\axis (down\up\%) arguments to the gui. 2. Consolidate as much as it is only possible. How: 2.1 Consolidate all the similar controls into one, default, controls setting, named, for example, GLOBAL. 2.2 If anyone wants to invert the throttle axis for helicopters, and leave it not inverted for planes, they can do it simply by modifying the heli's settings. 2.3 DCS will first read the heli's config file, remember which commands are binded, then the system will read the global config file and bypass the commands which were already set in the heli's config file. 3. Mark with red, or put on top, or make the line (command) that has recently been introduced (like the sling commands for huey in v1.2.8b) glowing. (this will make it easier for players to know right away "what's new", to say. 4. If there was a conflict during the update -> conversion, notify the user and prompt them to update\fix the problematic command combo with a help of an interactive gui menu. What are the good sides of such approach? Firstly, your clients will not have to change every single file anymore. Only 2-3 changes for each aircraft, in its own controls settings. Secondly, it will save hours of work for your clients. And finally, it will make the Eagle Dynamics look like it really does care about its clients. --> Here is an another idea how to improve the configuration: note: this will be an additional way to configure your controllers. The classic ways (via options) will still be available. benefits: 1. User can quickly assign joystick buttons to exact specific aircraft switches without even knowing the switches' names.. 2. User will not need to go to controls options and spend long time searching one command after another, constantly changing sub-menus, and getting confused. 3. User can always change the set assignments very quickly, on a go, any time. how it is going to work: 1. Sit into a click-able cockpit. 2. Hold down CTRL. 3. Point and click on a switch you would like to configure. 4. Interactive prompt window appears asking you to... 5. ...click any button on your joystick, or any key on your keyboard. 6. A new, sophisticated window appears now where you can add a wide of additional parameters to your button\key\axis assignment, like (action on button up, or down, axis %, etc) 7. configure to your taste and press <OK>. P.S. Let's all be fair - the current key configuration system is a mess. It is in a big need of some serious improvements. The improvements which would open the huge specter of the game's possibilities to a regular user, the improvements which would once and for all free your clients from spending their lives on remaking their input configuration files from scratch, again, again, and again. Most of the time backups do not work, like, for example, in the situation with the v1.2.7 -> v1.2.8. My configuration files were butchered, badly converted into the new format. Many key combinations were lost during this transition, leaving me at the square one in configuring my game controllers. I have no other choice, but to do it all over again. Why? Why should I do that? This is unfair, inconvenient, time consuming, and hard. It the company's duty is to make this problem go away, forever, and your clients believe that Eagle Dynamics can do it right. --> DEAR FORUM USERS, DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN IDEAS HOW TO IMPROVE THE CONTROLS SETTINGS SYSTEM? PLEASE SHARE THOSE IDEAS WITH EVERYONE. Thank you.
  4. It is good to know that you looked at the documentary. Next time try to also listen to it.
  5. Dear Eagle Dynamics Forum, I have attached the replay. Please, look at it and tell me why did the engine become overheated, and how to prevent this in future. Thank you for any advice. P-51 Overheating Problem.rar
  6. Dear Development Team, For the reason unknown to me, bombs do not explode, and do not do any damage to targets. They just "disappear" after touching the ground. The track file attached. BUG P-51 Bombs Do Not Explode.rar
  7. Dead Developers, Creating this topic here because it does not belong to any of the sub-forums, proposed above. Description: 1. First repair went fine. It was possible to start the ac without any problems. 2. Second repair caused sudden explosion. 3. Spawned a new aircraft. 4. Repair went fine, but the attempt to start the engine caused enormous shaking of the ac, air frame disintegration, and fire. 5. Repaired the second ac for the second time. 6. Another shaking, no damage was done this time. Track attached. [added] Another completely spontaneous explosion. What is happening? Track Attached. [added] Will this be reported to the team of developers? Will this issue be solved? What was the cause of this? Thank you. BUG Repair Explosion.rar BUG P-51 Spontaneous Explosion.rar
  8. Dear forums.eagle.ru, I searched through this forum and, unfortunately, was not able to find a proper, full documentation for an advanced input configuration. I would like to get an explanatory documentation for each command, like "iCommandPlaneStabHorizon", for example, and for each condition, like "pressed", "up", "down", and so on. Where can the most complete documentation can be found? Does it even exist? If no, can you create it? Thank you for your kind help. Best regards, WoAyumi
  9. For example, P-51, with the mirror I get stable 10FPS however when I retract it, performance rises and FPS stays at stable >60FPS. This is an anomaly of programming. 6x performance drop only because of the mirror is ridiculous. This is very annoying, but I have to admit, this is more funny than annoying. ..and when will you finally fix the spelling error "УКРАЇНСКІ СОКОЛИ" on the MiG-29's?
  10. New Updater does not Update Dear Developers, the new updater does not update anything. What it does is just hangs on the message "searching for updates" like it is searching, but nothing else happens. I waited for an hour and then had to kill the process. I tried few times, and the result is always the same. I tried repair, and it hangs just like the new updater.
  11. Dear ED, On the MiG-29S's scheme it says "Українскі Соколи" where it should be "Українські Соколи". Please correct this error. Thank you.
  12. Finally, new helicopter is out, it's a third one and the biggest so far. So what do you think? Physics, controls, ergonomics, appearance, GPU performance? Do you like it?
  13. If your clean DCS server installation crashes on your VPS machine: 1. Check if you have the latest DirectX installed. 2. Check if you have the required Microsoft Visual C++ installed. 3. Check if your graphics card supports 3D graphics. Try another 3D game, for example.
  14. Hello forum, I have been watching some documentaries about first jet fighters and found a funny thing - American documentary tells how 3 jet fighters killed like 50 of North Korean MiGs, while the Russian documentary shows how 3 jet fighters frightened a horde of American jets, and made them run home for their lives. Here are the two documentaries for your comparison. Feel free to leave your thoughts about this. Thank you.
  15. Dear ED Team, For some reason, even if you Admiral Kuznetsov > Suppliers > Full Info > EQP > Initial Amount > set all to zero, they are still available. I cloned the same setting with the provided feature to some airport and ammunition was not available on that specific airport is expected. However, this only confirms that Kuznetsov's ammunition customization does not work. Until it is implemented, is there any way to prevent players from rearming at the specified carrier? If you have any scripts or guides, please could you share them? Thank you.
  16. Guys, I've been trying to set up this thing in my mission and I have managed to get it work, but it works only first time (it does not work after unit respawned), and sometimes it does not work at all. I need it to play a file when a target is destroyed, even after it had respawned and then destroyed again. Do you know how to do it properly? I think that it could be because of the ON CRASH trigger that I use, which probably works only once, and after the unit respawned, the trigger does not work anymore? I'm using slmod. Maybe it can help? Thank you. :smilewink: The solution: use 3 SWITCHED ACTION + FLAGs The problem was: ON CRASH + UNIT IN ZONE.
  17. Hello, I pick: ONCE -> UNIT DEAD -> RADIO TRANSMISSION -> file.ogg. as soon as I close and reopen the triggers window - this trigger disappears, but the ogg file is saved into the miz file. Solution: create zones before adding the RADIO TRANSMISSION trigger.
  18. Hello, so I created all these triggers, saved the file, opened the triggers builder window again and they all were gone. I tried to rebuild them several times but each time they were just cleared. Why is this happening? Is this a bug or something? I pick: ONCE -> ON DESTROY -> RADIO TRANSMISSION -> file.ogg. as soon as I close and reopen the triggers window - this trigger disappears, but the ogg file is saved into the miz file. The solution: create zones first, and than add radio transmission.
  19. I've been making a mission, but now I found it necessary to modify coalitions (country sides) a bit. How can I do this? Thank you for your help in advance! The solution: rename your mission file to missionname.miz.zip, and then unzip it. find the file named "mission" and open it with your advanced text editor. In your advanced text editor pick language "lua" and proceed to editing your coalitions. P.S.: I had a problem where blue coalition AI stopped spawning. I fixed it by creating a new mission with the same coalition setup and then putting the coalitions exactly in the same order as they were placed in the newly created file.
  20. How much memory do you need to host a DCS server. How much memory it takes when there's one player and when there are twenty players? Thank you.
