  1. Ahhh I see. Thank you very much. I just monkied about with the permissions of the files in the saved games and DCS is back working! Thank you so much!!
  2. Hello all. I need some help please. I am on DCS 2.8. I can launch the game just fine, log in just fine, access all the settings and controls etc just fine. However my problems occur when I go into the module manager or try and launch a mission (being it instant action, create mission etc). The game seems to freeze loading my modules or when trying to load the mission. In the case of the later, the blue progress bar does not populate or move at all. All of my modules are shown in the home screen and I can select the associated wallpapers. My DCS account on the website appears to be in good standing also. This is DCS standalone. I do not use steam Has anyone experienced this before. Windows 10 is fully updated, DCS is up to date and the repair feature has been used as well. Log enclosed. Many thanks! Kye dcs.log
  3. A low level tosser is being made! Excellent! My dad was an engineer on the Bucc for the Navy. He loved em. I've heard a few stories about them. One of them being of a Bucc sent out beyond radar range of the carrier (Eagle or Hermes) to test the defences and detection of the ship. Everyone was on look out with Binos and all sorts he told me. They spent ages looking for it and couldn't see or detect it. Until it went by under the level of the flight deck at just about transonic. Dad remembers with a fond smile seeing the back seat grinning and waving on the way past.
  4. Ahh interesting. So the trim tab puts the load on the elevator, which in turn brings about the pitch change. Many thanks for the info. No bug to report then. :)
  5. Hello all. I could be wrong, but I think the elevator trim wheel may possible be bugged. If I trim the aircraft to be TH (Tail Heavy?), the wheel goes towards the NH arrow direction. Likewise, trimming for NH (Nose Heavy?), the wheel rotates towards TH. Is this wrong or right? It seems to be a bit counter intuitive. Reversing the input allows the wheel to rotate in the direction you would expect (or what I figure to be correct) but the trim tabs still do the opposite. Can anyone confirm whether I am right or wrong at all?
  6. I'll take your work for it. I can't hear it over the music.
  7. At the time, none. I've got IObit installed now. Albeit after I managed to update.
  8. Hello all. My copy of the beta won't update of it's own accord. It takes some commands in the windows cmd function to for the update to run. Although it does work, it is not ideal. I am often confronted with the follow error when trying to update and sometimes when booting up the game. I have to wait a short while and press retry to clear it and progress into the game. Can anyone shed any light on what I can do to end this irritating issue?
  9. They're certainly the standard tips. As excited as I am for the MkIX, I am a bit confused in that we have a plane that is not representative. 434 has never had clipped wings. Have I read correctly that there are plans to incorporate both versions of the wing tips by treating the standard wingtips as 'ordinance' to get around having a second module? Still can't wait to get my hands on it though! :)
  10. That doesn't work for me.
  11. AV is turned off. PC has been rebooted as well. Still not luck.
  12. Hello. I get the same error again. I am using the 64 bit updater from this link: http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ Will see what happens...
  13. Hello. Trying to install the beta for the first ever time and I have the below error message. Can't copy C:\Users\Kye\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\DCS_updater.exe to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe: (32) The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. Can anyone help me get around it? Thanks Kye
  14. After digging around, it seems I'm quite wrong. The reg of the plane I saw in the photo was quite different. Ooops. As you were! 434 certainly has quite a history to her!
  15. Hmm I think I may have my wires crossed. I felt sure I saw a recent(ish) photo of her clipped. The Mark 8 steals it for me in the looks department. The larger tail gives it a more 'balanced' look to me. Cracking comparison photo!
