I don't think it would be cost effective for ED to purchase extra servers just to handle a few days of heavy traffic. Besides, ED has used the same engine for the last 14 (?) years what makes you think they would spend the extra resources for a patch update?

I have been sitting at 0.2 kb/s for a really long time. This is after I got a hash mismatch, requiring me to re-update everything. Second time trying, the thing completely stopped and I had to redo it again. :megalol::megalol::megalol:

For those that have 1.2.4 installed, is there better performance?

Gave me a hash mismatch error about halfway through. Finished repairing and now re-updating :(

Do you mean flyable or just in game?

Very nice looking terrain and eight flyable planes/gliders. There is no combat, cockpit is not clickable, no multiplayer, and the flight model feels really simple. If you like flying gliders I think Aerofly FS is the best out there, but there is more value in FSX/X-Plane 10. I bought Aerofly FS when it first came out on steam but stopped playing after a week. IMO for $39.99 you get much more in a single DCS module than all of Aerofly FS. http://www.simhq.com/_air14/air_516a.html is a pretty good review

Just wondering because that MLRS 'bug' has been around a really long time and still hasn't been fixed. Makes you wonder if ED is really looking into it or is it lip-service. CBUs have been decreasing FPS to a slideshow since DCS World was released a while back and the issues still haven't been resolved.

I wouldn't recommend it. I tried to at first but it was a disaster. See if you can buy a used pair.

Those users will need upgrade or play something else...We're talking about a hi-fi simulation with lots of detail and far view distances, not diablo 3 which can be played by most machines. ...and i'm out!

What makes you think it won't? Why would ED spend all the resources developing if performance is WORSE?

We are getting EDGE sometime in the future and that should improve FPS a lot. It would be way too costly and take too much time to redo the engine for every single thing they have. I agree with you on the other points, it is a bit ridiculous to be able to play the latest games at ultra settings and to have a slideshow with DCS.
