  4. So i am just coming over the thousand dollar mark that is with a new computer and building materials and some other essentials. tools ect.. My Carpenter will be here on the 31st for cutting and assembly. Here is some pics of what i got done over the past 3 days. I see alot of money and time going into this. This is my first pit. Oh yeah and my back is shot from marking out the blueprints. I had to kinda guesstimate on the front panel. Critiques welcomed.
  5. I am laying out the prints for Dimebugs center console (The Main Panel) but i need all the measurements and gauge diameters plus mfd's. i understand you can print to scale and go off that but i did not. does anyone have the measurements in detail???
  6. Yeah this was something I did not see don't and thought could be a simple beginner job. Not to bad I just can't wait to get the pit built next month going with mdf bboard. And limebug plans. Only thing I could not figure out was the leds. (I did see the vid on led hook up but that was a illimunated switch) not sure it's the same. Next will prob be the apu switches.sorry for grammer ....itouch
  7. So this is my very first attempt at home cockpit building. Maybe someone could have a look. Maybe i wired something wrong. I am pretty sure i did this correct although i have no electrical knowledge. (also i don't know how to wire my leds to a single pull double throw switch to work when the too switches are thrown :(. I dont understand) My wood order was placed and should be here soon to start my build. Also i understand the flight data recorder has no function in DCS. My purpose for doing this mod was to maybe interact with recording teamspeak chat along with fraps or maybe even to a hotkey on a webcam so when the sim is done friends can record what they want and get a dvd.
  8. Well after being part of the DCS Community for a while i am finally able to post on the forum. Thats a story for another day. Anyway i am trying my hand at building a cockpit using Dimebugs plans. I have never done anything like this and have little to no expirence on electrical wiring. I have scoured this forum and bookmarked as many pages i could on cockpit builds and panel building and such. So here it goes i thought i would start with something simple i have decided to build the cockpit video recorder...Yes i know it has no real function in DCS A10 but i thought maybe it could throw the switch and it would light up in dcs and maybe start recording with fraps? I am sure i could figure that out. My main question is how do i wire this thing up. (with the led to come on when the switch is active) i will explain what i have so far x2 10a 227vac/20 a 125v ac SPST switches and 2 led lights (i do have some various resistors not sure why i bought them) I plan to by the gp 40 wiz board i will enclose some pictures to explain what i have done so far and maybe someone can help me if i am way off base. so i have the two switches with the ground wire running to the post with brass pin on the switches (the other one is silver im guessing thats positive) now can i continue the ground wire to each negative poles on the led??? then come off the positive on the switch to the led from the led to the input on the gp40 board? I am confused. I would hate to get a board in the mail the ruin it hooking this up! Can someone explain this to me please.
