  1. Is it possible somehow to just giveaway some of my keys to anyone? I don't want to sell them, as matter of fact i would like to giveaway to the first one, in the forum, who really enjoy flying one of those aircraft. I don't even care if it is ED to decide who is going to be. It is just that I don't see my self using those aircrafts in the future so i see no point having them unused for good when someone else might be enjoying them.
  2. No one? Really? I guess the answer is a negative one
  3. I don't know if this is the right section to ask about it but here we go. I saw a video of AIM-120 hitting targets at 30nm and i saw some updates notes about new aim-120 guidance. What i would like to understand is whether the final aim-120 capabilities has been fixed and brought to stable version or it is something limited to open beta (or some internal version)? I remember f-15 campaign mission where the target is a Russian AEW and to actually hit that thing you had to close up to really stupid distances. I mean a really big a slow moving target which could still kill your missile if not fired from a very close distance. I'm asking this because i don't have the guts to reinstall everything just to discover that maybe this has not changed yet in stable version. Thanks in advance
  4. can i just uninstall open beta without affecting (losing) any key activation? or there is a specific routine to do so? i'll be preserving the open alpha installation. I'm asking this because it is about more than 6 month that i don't touch dcs anymore and i want to clear a little bit and who knows maybe give dcs another shot. thanks in advance
  5. I just want to share that i've seen a huge frame drop after the last update (i was still on the beta number 3). Before that, i was experiencing unstable 60 fps (55-70), then today after the update it dropped to unstable 42 fps (40-50). I've tried all settings but i saw no change, not even a frame up or down. So when i was about to give up i deleted the DCS folder inside saved games and restarted the game (thus automatically recreating everything). Well after that, the game went to unstable 75 fps (70-110) and always 60 fps with v-sync on. NE
  6. Why? Just tell me why you keep speaking for others, in this case the whole programmer/developer community, if you don't even know what you talk about? Every single game are made of parts that exclusively rely on probability and statistics. An entire very famous simulator has been made PURELY on probability and statistics. Speaking of hardware components, there are companies that use researches based on probability and statistic to decide which way to go and sometime even the standard setups. So ridiculous...... You lack of humility (instead of listen/read and try to learn you just go ahead as a tank with your own idea, and you are not even capable to step back whey you are so damn wrong). Probably you are one of those naïve person that believe on whatever someone say just because of their credential, without even try to imagine that they might be lying just because they have some interest to protect. I hope you are not an engineer, and if so that you don't occupy any position that needs creative people to improve technology because you are so mind closed.
  7. So damn easy to solve, all you need is math and statistics. No one would stay away from a 17" as no one would stay so damn close to a 52". There are a lot of software (regardless their utility) that uses statistics approach with very good result (in overall).
  8. Asking for fixed zoom or a total removal (also for others features) is just a no no. Let's not forget that simulation also come from hardware, so setting freedom is a must to allow users to config the game for all sort of setups (as long as he is capable to play with lua).
  9. That's one way, but windows itself has an api called GetDeviceCaps that allow you to get that information....simple as that
  10. Another pearl of knowledge from SharpeXB based on his beliefs on nothing, there is indeed a way to know the screen size via software, a very stupid way that works perfectly...... Just because ED doesn't use it, doesn't mean that it can't be done.... Why keep talking about things that you just don't have any clue? Moreover using it as facts to support your vision?
  11. Surely you don't, you just don't understand but still come here to drop your facts based on stories that you tell to yourself in your head. I've noticed almost from my first flight on DCS, after a quick search (here in this forum) I found out about this behavior and realized that was something known, something that was related to models and graphics engine. As I wrote, just because ED did this way, it doesn't mean it is the best. It might also be old and among the worst (compared to modern techniques/algorithms) , it happens often in software development (specially when working on a very old game that uses the same old engines). Like you have done for that ww2 ARCADE game, you accept everything that support your idea as god truth and unique way and bash anything that goes against it with lies .....in my house we call this as worship
  12. hahahhahaha Things like this are one of the evil of the society/internet, just because they believe on something (sometime just because they read something on the internet without even understanding) they take it as a fact and come to forums, or wherever, to teach and drop "facts". There is no relationship between rendering and anything else, as a manner effect the render layer is totally above anything else (software architecture), which means that it might not even be implemented that still everything else works 100% the same way (like a dedicated server does). I will not even waste my time explaining who/how/why works like this, besides just because they did this way, it doesn't mean that it is the best or even among the better, that's why they have made from 0 a whole rendering engine because the way it worked previously 1.5 was just bad bad bad (just to avoid worse word) for an open world. Are you a programmer? Clearly not, so why drop facts about something so technical that you just don't know, don't have even a small clue. Your posts are full of this behavior
