Thanks guys what you say makes sense and fits what is happening. I checked the axis assignments and Z axis for TrackIR are set up on the Absolute Longitude Shift Camera View. Unfortunately I can't see how to change the axis to the lateral forward/backward view as suggested.

I have noticed that with some aircraft the default cockpit view zooms out without being commanded by any keyboard input which is very distracting when you are trying to take a bead on a ground target. At mission start the cockpit view zooms in to a normal angle and then shortly after zooms out. I can zoom the view in again to the original angle but then after a second or so it zooms back out again by itself. This issue affects the Hawk more than other aircraft but does not happen in the Huey, Sabre or the A10C. It happens in the P51 but the view that it defaults to is a more normal angle so it is not so much of an issue when it zooms to that angle by itself. My question is can this issue be fixed in game or do I need to start looking for LUA files to change FOV settings?

This issue seems to have resolved itself and I have no idea why. Have been testing for the last couple of days and have had no further system crashes when exiting missions. It would appear that the planets have aligned in my favor at last. Thanks all for your suggestions and support.

Thanks Atalia I'll see what I can do about changing out the GPU to see if that makes any difference. After further testing the issue has become intermittent some times it does sometimes it doesn't. Will advise this thread with the outcome.

Hi Guys I am having a problem with DCS crashing my computer on mission exit. It started about a week ago and I had not installedor updated any software prior except for standard Windows updates. It can be any mission and when I exit I get a black screen and while the computer is still running I am unable to alt/tab to other applications or even ctrl/alt/del to get to the Task Manager. I attempted a repair that did not fix the issue so then did a complete deinstall / reinstall and reloaded all the modules. I then set up a mission and on exit the same thing happened so now I am really in trouble. I have read many posts related to DCS crashing on exit but they usually result in a dialogue box advising that DCS has crashed and they are just clicked through and then DCS is restarted. My issue is different because I require a complete system restart to get back to the simulator. Would greatly appreciate any thoughts on what I should try next to over come this very frustrating issue.

Thanks guys I was in the process of making a track file as Bignewy suggested and when I got to the bit where I pull on the collective it worked as expected and I was flying. Got no idea what I was doing wrong when I was reported the issue but it looks like it all works fine now.

I am having a problem getting off the ground after a cold start. I have followed the step by step start up procedure as described in a number of YT videos and all master caution lights are off and gauges read as they should specifically the throttle is at full power with governor engaged and the gauge is in the green band. When I increase the collective there is no lift and the chopper stays on the ground. At full collective the RPM drops as load is put on the motor and I get the RPM warning. If I start a mission from the runway with the start up already completed and engine running I have no problem with the collective providing lift for the aircraft as expected. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can suggest what I can try to resolve this problem.

I have saved a track that I would like to upload to a forum and I have not been able to find any previous posts that explain how to do that. Would greatly appreciate a few tips on how to post a track?

TM View Assignments Show in Red
Dogman replied to Dogman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Problem Resolved Thanks I found the answer in the manual and it was as you said the assigned modifier for the paddle needed to be set up again and now all is working again thanks so much for your quick reply... -
Hi I had a number of views set up with a combination of Paddle and various stick buttons and all worked well. I had not used DCS for a while and when I started it today discovered that all the view assignments I had created were shaded red. I picked F1 Cockpit forward view and tried to clear and add the noted Paddle+ JoyBtn 15 that it was originally programmed with but instead of showing PADDLE when I activated the Paddle lever it shows JoyBtn 04 and did not add the JoyBtn 15. When I set these assignments up originally I recall it was very easy but now something has changed and I would love to know if someone can spot the obvious thing I am doing wrong and advise. Thanks Guys...

Adding TACAN Frequency to a Refueling Aircraft When I set up a refueling aircraft in the mission builder I can edit the radio frequency but there does not appear to be an option to add a TACAN frequency. Can someone please advise if this can be done?

Unable to access assignment fields in Control panel
Dogman replied to Dogman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks WC I deleted the files and on restart the fields were available.... problem solved... -
Have still got no explanation as to why some of my assignment fields in Options/Control are shaded and inactive. It first became an issue when I discovered I could not assign toe brakes on my pedals to the wheel brakes in the control panel. (Screenshot included) I have now found that all the assignment fields for the autopilot functions for all input devices are shaded and inactive so effectively I can't assign any autopilot functions on anything... this is now serious.. Can someone please explain why some fields are available for assignment and some are not it appears to be totally random. Thanks in advance..

A week in and the combination of DCS A-10c, the TM Warthog, enhanced terrain, and TrackIR continue to astound me. The depth of this simulation is truly awesome and I haven't even let loose some rounds from the cannon yet... patience Grasshopper.. I have my basic controls and views set up thanks to this fantastic archive but have one niggling issue regards to sticky snap views that I would ideally like to map to the Hog's trim switch and the DMS. I have set up custom snap views of the consoles, HUD and MFDs and I can access these views through the various assigned NUM keys and they stick fine, however when I activate them through the joystick assignments which are mapped to the Snap Views in the Options Control screen the views don't stick. So my question is how do I set it up so that the views do stick when accessed through the joystick. Look forward to any advice anyone might be able to offer...

Thanks guys deleting the keyboard.lua fixed this issue for me as well
-
Hi Foxfire Thanks for the great summary of snap views.I have been working through it as I am keen to set up some custom views. Everything works as described up to when I press rctrl+Num0 to toggle to the sticky vies. When I press the various Num keys 1-9the various views do not display for some reason. Have no issue with the snap views when using lwin-Num1-9 Can you or anyone advise what I can do to resolve this issue?? Thanks

External View Problem Hi Guys Have just plugged in my shiny new TM Warthog stick and throttle and everything looks to be working as it should. However when I try and open an external view using the Function keys as I used to prior to installing the hog I get no views. The F keys do work for coms. Hopefully someone might be able to explain what I can do to restore the external view options. Thanks

Keyboard Commands Not Working.. amongst other things
Dogman replied to Dogman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Certainly tried to clear but because they are inactive they cant be selected to be cleared. I have logged a case with Saitek and we'll see what their thoughts are. Thanks for your help anyway its most appreciated... -
Keyboard Commands Not Working.. amongst other things
Dogman replied to Dogman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Finally tracked down that pesky Screenshots folder for DCS real simple in the end. The shot shows the shading I am talking about which means the wheel brake fields are not active. I have done a re-install of drivers from the Saitek site with no result. Would love to know if anyone else has seen this and if so what the resolution is. Thanks -

Yes I did but then after reading a related post somewhere it was recommended to remove the drivers which I did. I'll reinstall and see if anything changes. -

I have the rudder working OK as the field is available. Problem is the wheel brake ones are not unlike yours they are shaded and can't be accessed. I have tried to get a screen shot using print screen and SnagIt but can't actually get a shot of the game screen for some reason. How did you get yours? -
Keyboard Commands Not Working.. amongst other things
Dogman replied to Dogman's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Nice to hear that someone has got toe breaks working it fills me with hope. Like I said in the beginning of the thread I don't have the option to reverse the axis because the wheel brake fields are shaded and can't be accessed. I read in another post that the drivers could cause issues so I removed them and tried again but no joy. -
