Yeah it could mate. Ive actually considered getting a second one for that purpose. Or maybe even two for the side monitors to attach table tops. I didnt make it- it is a cheap one from ebay. All I had to do was drill the holes in the obutto. Ill find the link and post it here when I get home.

Thanks lads. As for cost- its been relatively cheap so far. All the aluminum was about $40 at a local hardware store. The plastic is $25 a sheet, ive used one white and one clear. The switches im getting cheap from china on ebay. All up so far maybe $150. I anticipate that will rise sharply once I start adding the electronics. Plus ive just ordered a 3.5 inch lcd ($30) and green illuminated tactile switches (20 for $11) for the cdu. Ill also need a secondary graphics card to run it. The cost will rise...

Another small update- Added the Fuel RCVR handle. Not sure how I'm going to do the knob for it though. It is two 1mm strips of aluminium riveted together. It simply pivots on a bolt and nut. Rubber washers on for friction and locktite on the nut so it doesnt come loose. Simple and seems to work fine. :megalol: Also did the Lighting panel- And the landing gear panel and AHCP are one unit. I hope to get a simmeters flaps gauge in there eventually. That will be the only analogue gauge I will use (and only if i can get it to work with helios) And the plan is to turn this into a gear handle- And one custom panel that will go at the top of the left console as I'm not going to have a UFC or Fire handles. Will both be lit up with a phidgets board (along with the caution box). These are very much prototypes and the finished product will be much better (hopefully) Thanks for looking!

G'day all. I've been lurking around these forums for way too long filling my brain with ideas, so I think its time to upload a work in progress/build log of my pit. Its certainly not a replica. I'm going to do two basic single row side consoles, with a glass front pit and a landing gear and AHCP next to the lower moitor.. I've had an Obutto Ozone cockpit for a couple of years now. I was going to upgrade to the R3volution model, but i couldn't justify the cost. So- step one of my A10C was to modify the Ozone to fit four monitors. I bough a cheap monitor bracket on eBay with the plan to only use the VESA mount from it, but surprise it was a near perfect fit. Drilled some holes in the back of the Ozone center mount and the result was brilliant! Looks like an Obutto part! I'm using three BenQ 24 inch monitors and a cheap Acer 19 inch to run Helios. I also have Thrustmaster MFD's to go on the Acer. I already have two panels I purchased from Glider on the forums last year. Fuel and Elec Power. The rest I am making myself. I don't have a fancy CNC or laser- I'm using a drill press and a scroll saw. Anyway- here is my basic idea. I'm using the Obutto throttle and side stick mount to make two consoles. Here is the raw materials- aluminium brackets and strip from a hardware store. You get the idea- Acrylic sheet sides for the angles on the Fuel panel. Its only clear because that what i had spare- it will be painted black later on. Panels- I'm using R1's plans that ive modified to fit my project. Like i said- this is not a replica. I'm changing things where i need too, as well as adding a few of my own fictional panels that will take care of other things I need from the panels I'm not building. For now I'm cutting the bottom and middle out of white acrylic (ready for LED back lighting down the track). Then a color printout covered with a clear top panel. Later on i'll get the top panels done properly with an engraver- that will be an easy swap. Here is what i have so far. The edges haven't been cleaned and I'm only using low quality print outs at the moment, but you get the idea. And the second console is also taking shape- The radios have green printed squares at the moment- will be 7 segment displays down the track (If i can work out how to do that). The CDU printout is still a work in progress and will probably be the last panel I do. That one will be a Laser or CNC job- way to hard to cut that by hand! I'm going to try to use a cheap ebay 3.5 inch car reverse camera LCD for it. I'm in the process of making a CMSP- without the LCD for now (maybe down the track) For now here is where it is at- Stay tuned and I try to update as I go! Cheers

ELEC PWR done! More LED's- Panel broken down- Holes drilled- The circuit- Works!-
-
Thanks! Drilled 3mm holes in the plastic and the LED's fit in so snugly no glue is required. A little bit of force required to remove it but the whole circuit just pops out and retains its shape. Yep, I'm aware but i just don't have the desk space. If i mount it up front the landing gear panel and AHCP will foul on my monitors. Thanks! I did actually use that tool and with a 5V source it recommended to use a resistor on each LED. Cheers! Just got my LED's so working on the ELEC PWR panel right now
-
Cheers! I painted the edges around the clear back panel so there is no light bleed from the sides and around the mounting bolts
-
Here is mine back lit, with the edges painted and switches installed and working  Now to do the same to the ELEC PWR panel!
-
Here is mine with the edges painted and switches installed and working! Ignore the grey enclosure, will be replaced with a better sized black one. Plus I still haven't worked out the RCVR lever. Obviously I haven't back lit the Elec Power panel yet (waiting on LED's). Me too. But i foolishly only got 50 for about $3! Yeah I will do. I've got more LED's on the way so I'll do that as well as add more under all the 'OFF lines' as well. I'll also drill out the spacer panel so i can get some light around the line check button. As for the typo- This is one of Glider's panels from the other thread. As soon as I told him of the error he sent a replacement top. I was going to do that as well, but decided that since I am not doing a complete pit, I'd rather have it look pretty and match the LED's on my HOTAS Warthog. Which it does almost perfectly! Ignore the position, just tacked it here while in flight testing. It works! My plan is to have two consoles either side of my Obutto ozone pit. The Fuel panel will be behind the throttle, SAS to the left of it, Landing gear and AHCP in front of it. Left side will be lighting panel, elec power and a maybe a caution box. Each panel will be self enclosed and removable. All the back lighting will be powered from the same separate 5V wall plug and the lighting panel console rotary will be a separate circuit for an on/off/dimmer.
-
Caution panel looks awesome! Are you going to cut indicators with text for it as well? Also, I'm curious as to why the SAS panel has only one switch hole cut for the pitch?
-
Couldn't resist posting this here- My first go at back lighting. Using Gliders top panel and spacer. Used my own back plate because i couldn't bring myself to drill holes in his for the LED's before I proved it would work!
-
G'day all. I just finished working on my first back lit panel. Please excuse my terrible solder skills. Its been a while... Switch panel front- Back of panel with LeoBodnar mounted- It works! Using the 5V from the board- Spacer panel fitted- Top panel on. Not completely even lighting but it does the job well enough for me- Just realized I missed two LEDs behind the Main Boost Pump L-R. Ill fix that soon (ran out of LEDs!) Plus I am aware of the text error with the boost pumps and fill disable being mixed up- a new top panel is on the way. Right now I am waiting for the edge painting to dry. Trying a few coats of chrome silver before the black, hoping it might help for a more even lighting spread. Still might run some more LED's around the squares for the fill disable. Haven't decided yet...
-
Just received mine. Fantastic  Here they are quickly bolted together. I've got some nicer screws and bolts coming, and the grey enclosure will be painted black soon. Just need to work out the back lighting and the fuel RCVR door lever. Going to order a bunch more for sure! Are you considering a caution panel at all Glider?

CH Pro Pedals to be RMA'd
romeokilo replied to romeokilo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Seller never got back to me () and the postage to the US would be ridiculous. So... today I caved in- The problem was the terrible factory spade connections on the pot. Soldered it up and is now working as it should. Thanks everyone for the advice  -

I've responded to the seller with my disagreement and am waiting on a reply. If I don't receive the reply I'm looking for ill probably just bite the bullet and open them up for a look. -

CH Pro Pedals to be RMA'd

And this is the confusing statements on the eBay sellers returns page- This was on the listing i purchased- And this is in the print on their store page- And to add to the confusion- The listing said - Location- Northern Territory AU The warranty says return to Brisbane Queensland AU But the package I received came from the US! Confusing much??? -
CH Pro Pedals to be RMA'd
romeokilo replied to romeokilo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was going to have a look inside, but I just couldn't bring myself to peel off the warranty void sticker this early into its life. Didn't even know about that software! Had a look, and basically its doing the same thing it does in DCS axis tune. The Z axis is centered at 128, and eventually it slowly starts counting down to zero without any input. It centers again if I just tap the pedal case with my feet without even touching a pedal, so Id say its definitely a hardware issue. Emailed CH and got a reply straight away. They said they could start an RMA, but recommended I contact the seller to find out their returns policy first. Which I have done. I've read the eBay sellers policy and noticed there are some conflicting statements as to what they will do. I'm patiently waiting on a reply... And yeah I like the wide stance on the saiteks, but specifically bought the CH so they would fit in my obutto ozone. Thanks all! -
Hi all Just wondering if anybody has had issues with these pedals before. I bought a brand new and sealed set about a week ago on eBay. (I did have a set of Saitek Combats, but sold them because they are to wide and wont fit in my Obutto Cockpit) They worked fine for about 4 hours, then I began to find my hog acting strangely. After some crazy landings I checked in axis tune and the rudder is slowly moving from center to full left rudder without me touching them. If i wiggle them around a bit it returns to center, but eventually begins moving to left again. Also now seems to be large dead zones all through the axis. I just emailed CH and asked about the RMA process. Anybody done this before? Easy process? And I'm in Australia, so shipping costs will kill me  Cheers
