  1. Does realism matter when it come to the aircraft, yes. Does it matter when it comes to mission design, no. No battle/war in the current theater is realistic outside of Russia vs Georgia. Same goes for any other theater. If it didn't happen historically, it's not realistic. What your most likely thinking of in terms of mission design is plausibility, and to be quite honest I doubt most are looking for 100% plausibility considering most servers use unrealistic teams to "balance" aircraft types and such.
  2. Why does this even matter? If they released the F-35 today, then you might have an argument. But the release is at least a year off, probably longer. Which means that by the time it is released we'll hopefully have EDGE with several new theaters. As to needing to develop more classified aircraft, why? When the F-35 enters service for real a good number of the aircraft currently in the sim or in development will still be in service. So missions in the new theaters, depending on where it is, could be quite realistic. But then again why does it have to be realistic? ;)
  3. How do you figure? All I see is a memo stating that the current F-35A fleet can't properly support the current training syllabus. Which isn't all the surprising considering there trying to use an aircraft thats not 100% complete. Problem is, This thread IS about KI's project. If you want to debate about the real F-35, there is a thread for that. Use it.
  4. Sweet! Can't wait for this one.
  5. A small list off the top of my head: -Attack unit/attack group tasks. -Selectable formations that place the different ship classes in there proper place within the formation. -A vLOS for carrier landings. Thats all I can think of for now.
  6. (Paris Hilton voice) That's hawt!
  7. I think people are getting wwwaaayyy to "wrapped around the axle" with this standalone business. Yes, KI has worded things a bit differently than were used to, but everything has been clarified many times. The module will work no different than any other.
  8. PM sent.
  9. It's to bad Yuma didn't start getting F-35s a few months earlier, I would have loved to have seen one before I got out. I won't ask to be a flight lead since I've never played outside of single player, but I'll gladly be someones wing.
  10. X3. Sounds like an excellent idea.
  11. It's a great idea. One of the things I love about A-10C is the TM Warthog. Not only does it give better immersion, but it makes learning the different HOTAS functions much easier when combined with interactive training missions vs trying to program and remember the different functions on a generic HOTAS.
  12. This is exactly what DCS needs, some large caliber AAA. Hopefully we'll get to see this sooner rather than later.
  13. Very cool. DCS needs more ships.
  14. Went ahead and kicked in, hopefully they reach the goals for the C and B.
