I have a question on the leviers, how to change the skins. I know it was mentioned by WAGS but how to do it. I looked the mission editor and was able to find the aircraft and all the ground objects, but I could not find a skins section. Thanks for your help.

I also have a question on the Asset Pack. I do have it with serial number so how do I know if it loaded in Alpha Normandy map?. I do have ground vehicles no tanks or AAA.
-
Thanks guys, I installed the latest Nvidia drivers and all is well. Started by setting up my flight controls and took out the P51 and Spit for flight around Normandy for about 45 minutes. Again thanks for all your help:thumbup:

Thanks BIGEWY down loading latest drivers 382.05. Going out for "date night" so I will install the drivers in the morning and report what is going on.

Thanks EagleEye, that was the last step I was going to do before reinstalling. In looking over my Alpha WW11 install it comes in at 31.8GB I don't know if that is right?

Did the clean up and repair, no go. When starting a mission DCS exe just stops working at about 75% load. I wonder if java drives are out of date. Installing the latest java now, see if that's the problem. If not then a complete reinstall, do it this weekend. Just up dated Java, no go, same problem. I'll just go for a complete reinstall this weekend. Thanks guys.

Thanks, BIGNEWY & cthulhu68. I will try clean up and repair, then follow BIGNEWY suggestions. If that does not work then I will do a reinstall, after deleting my DCS WW11 folder on my C: drive.

My thought is to do a complete reinstall, yes I did the runtimes update. However the issue remains, when I try to fly a single mission the load screen stops around 3/4 and hangs. I then must Alt, Ctrl, Delete and in Windows Task Manager Applications DCS exe is listed as not responding, so I just end the task. Hope that cthulhu68 will have time to look at the file I send. Again thanks.

I hope I have the zipped file https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=161889&stc=1&d=1494302971 I believe it worked. dcs.zip

Rangi I did find the logs, but being an old fart, how would I post the logs, BTW I did convert the latest log to note pad. I tried once more to start it up but no go, which did create a log. One other thought I do have an old install on my storage drive G: this is where my original install was and when the updater started running that is where it looked for my install. About a year and half ago I moved the DCS bata to my C: drive, so I am wondering if that may be causing the problem? I could put a -in front of my G: drive install, delete the DCS WW11 folder and start all over again. Again thank for your help.

Ok thanks Rangi. I'll try to find the logs, will not be until I get home tonight.

2 part issues 1st. I did get the map and planes, and was able to do one flight then DCS stopped working. Rebooted and tried the same flight again however it would only load to 3/4 on the bar and then the message "DCS has stopped working". My Normandy map is the 2.1.0.4772 ver. My system specs: Win 7, 64bit CPU i7-4790K 4.00ghs GPU GTX 980ti 6 gigs my Nvidia driver is 368.81 1TB ssd. 2nd. Is the Normandy map also usable with the 1.5.6.4818 ver? My 1.5.6 ver loads just fine and is playable with Caucus map only, I may have not have understood right but I thought the Normandy map also worked with 1.5.6. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, cthulhku68. That did it. Now loading all my WW11 aircraft and will make all my other adjustments. Should be up and flying by tomorrow.:music_whistling:

I don't know is this has been addressed else where, I have the map and icon on my desk top however when I try to start this error message appears "cannot open missing' VCRUNTIME140.dll.' When I do a web search I come across many help articles that can fixed this issue of course for a price. My current 1.5xxx beta is up to date and runs just fine with out the dll. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well I guess I'm up to date, no prop in cockpit view. Not very good in outside view also:(. Thanks guys, BTW "no prop in cockpit view" can be twisted :megalol:

I do have the P-51 but I am not sure if I have the latest installed version, it has been a long time since the last install. Looking at the latest version for sale states it is 1.5.5, I am up to date with 1.5.5. What I am not sure of is my P-51 up to date? How would I find out? If not up to date what is the procedure using the module manager to reinstall? Thanks for any help.:helpsmilie:

Glad it worked. The other good news is that after removing P-38, I did a repair, reinstalled the P-38 it is now working. The only bad news with the P-38 is I cannot get the cockpit to show properly, working on that.
-
Thanks, I did the repair and all looks good. :)
-
Thanks ctulhu68, I did remove the Moded air craft folder from the Mod folder and the now the P-51 is flyable.
-
Yes I have a mods folder where seven aircraft folders are installed. I did have 1 mod aircraft installed, the rest are DCS products, I will remove that folder and run repair. Being as I new to tracking down issues how do I run a repair:dunno: Thanks

First off I don't know if this is the right place to post my issue, but here goes. After updating to the latest version of 1.5 and installing the Spit. my P-51 will not fly. It loads but when I click on the fly button it will start for a second then freeze with the message that DCS has stopped working, only option is to close and back to desk top. My other aircraft the Spit., FW-190 and ME-109 are just fine and are flyable. Any help ideas greatly appreciated in getting my P-51 up and flying.:helpsmilie: Thanks

Stdy, I did update to my system a few months ago, new CPU, GPU and new larger SSD 1tb. My old SSD had 128gb, with 1t HD. After the update I moved DCS to the SSD and I have had no problems with the updates. Just check my latest ver on the SSD and it is 1.5.5.8642 and on my HD the DCS ver is 1.5.3.52724. When the last updated started it was pointing to my HD G: but it installed to my SSD C: So from my experience you should be fine.
