  1. TY alfredo, this helps!
  2. TY sobek for your prompt response. I am still working with the CSProp, so maybe I am introducing drag with incorrect pitch. Sorry, it just seems to behave differently than the Spit 2 in Cliffs in a dive. Probably my ineptitude. Again, sorry.
  3. bump What are the basic parameters for safe operation of the pitot heater, and is it electric, or does it use engine heat?
  4. I think you have a winner! I did something similar in the early 90's for a NASCAR wheel/shifter. Then MOMO came out and negated the interest. Don't see that happening here, but this is a great time to get in with 1944 project to be the name brand. The ultimate would be the Dreamflyer with this setup! Great Fortune, good design!
  5. So can you leave the pitot on without any damage from overheating? I did turn it on after the loss of IAS gauge, but nothing happened. Maybe there was not enough time and it should have been on before? What are the basic parameters for safe operation of the pitot heater, and is it electric, or does it use engine heat?
  6. Why does this plane slow down when going downhill? I am moderately familiar with prop pitch and MP, as well as constant speed prop. But when descending rapidly the plane will slow down. And when I try to land the IAS goes to "0" somewhere around 125 mph and stays there. No Game Mode or Avionics, I only use SIM. It seems like when I first started flying it was correct, about 3 weeks ago. But since the latest patch the IAS seems buggy when landing and diving. Anyone else see this? TY, still a joy to fly.
  7. So the109 in "good' skill level has an unnatural flight path. It sideslips for about 6 seconds, then instanly shoots about 300m further. Rather hard to follow and line up on. The 109 damage model is way too difficult. I hit the thing 10+ times, it's full of holes and losing 3 different fluids, and still flies 20k further @ 330knots. Not realistic model. My wingman refuses to participate in engaging bandits. " Unable" or " Negative "is all he will say. I study the manual, eveything looks right, ammo, enroute task, ROE, etc. Maybe I am doing something incorrectly, but I intend to provide feedback to improve the SIM. Best SIM I have ever flown, but in the intrest of 1944 we need to have a feedback so the bugs can be addressed. DCS is fantastic, and I thank you for your work. - wuffman -
  8. Wingman won't attack I have a short SP mission where myself and an AI wing man follow three 109s. When I command him to attack he always replies " Negative" or " No Can Do"... sometimes when he is right behind one. I have checked loadout, and he has 100% guns, so what is the holdup? Thank YOU! *EDIT* Just found the DCS manual inside the .doc folder of the game... will be up ALL NIGHT ... ( unnnhhhhh ) *Edit again* ... Followed all information, still no response from wingman except "NO". Also the Nazi AI run for home, regardless if flag is locked on IAS. Anyone? *Edit again* ...OK, so apparently since Germany is now an ally, the 109 is a friendly AC. Who knew?
  9. Thx Echo! Can't wait to try it. The reason it's not bound for me is because I used the command that unbinds EVERYTHING, and just started over. I know, not too good. Was anxious to try DCS. But will probably go back to default and just change what is needed. Thank you again, have spent hours not finding this! IT WORKS!
  10. I have the same situation as Deacon. Quote " When looking at an outside view, either by F2 or F4, is there any way to rotate the view via the mouse? " So hitting F2 does not work fine. When you unbind your keys and set up your own scheme the mouse look is lost. So the "specific" question is, does anyone know the keybinding that controls mouse look? I have tried setting up as other default planes, but can't get it back. No mouse look. Frustrating. TY
  11. Agree - ORrift is a must!
  12. OK, so you CAN somehow select the skin in the game - TY
  13. So do you remove the existing .dds file, or can you somehow select the skin in the game? TY Sir
  14. Merlin, that's beautiful! Suggestion: take a 90deg die grinder ( air ) and use the round scotchbrite pads to emboss round hologram like patterns, like a Trans Am dash. If you have never done this experiment on a scrap piece of Alum. first , then you will be amazed at how professional it looks. Perfect for your panel. NICE WORK! How much? ( lightbulb... ) :) wuff
