Ignore the $50 pledge To begin with, DCS is a great flight sim. Since there were only 312 out of 2,553 that fell into the $50 pledge it's easy to see how this is perceived as "meaningless". However it is a textbook example of why "buyer beware" is a proverb. Unlike many people here, I do not have money to burn, and I made a decision to go a little further than the $40 pledge. In return I am valued exactly the same as the $40 commitment, so I feel like one of Barnum and Bailey's. This is NOT about the change in rewards, rather the total dismissal of what it meant to give more than the lower tier. I could suggest $10 credit to be applied towards a map/ AC, but I'm sure the very premise of equitable recognition will be drowned out by the rush of the majority to let everyone know how "great" they think this is. I could care less at this point if I got anything, but to get the same as the guy who actually cared less, well, shame on you ( next time shame on me ). To the other 311 of you guys, sorry, and when I rise to power I will give you $10 credit towards something. This is way more worry than it's worth already. Back to "Believe it when I see it". I want to run a dedicated server on old pc, and apparently you must have a "valid serial number " (?) to join multiplayer with new account? Old pc, start DCS, login multiplayer w/ new, registered account , says invalid serial number. Old pc, start DCS, login multiplayer w/ old account, no problem. Start server. Go to new pc, login mp w/ new account, "invalid serial number". Login MP w/ old account, see server, join, kicks server after 1 min. ( joined w/ same account as server pc ). Guessing you must have separate account for dedicated server, but apparently you need a product serial number. Thanks, and sorry to be so clueless. I am older, and have had a few headshots... TY

Since this is the only promise of anything approaching the experience and commitment of the 1C guys, all we can do is hang with idealistic optimism. I've been following some of these coders a while now, and I know there is no one else out there who can come close to delivering the period authentic "thesis" of WW2 Europe. I just hope they can do it before the window closes due to external flux, or internal unforeseen events. Meanwhile, if it happens it will be worth it.

Thx, mine looks the same, only Joy_X in Saitek Pro Flight Com is still the aielerons, as I have the flightstick assigned to Joy_X as aeilerons. I'll just go away now, appreciate all the help. Tell that to the P51, LOL. It rolls left with the left toe brake, and right with the right toe brake! I know, I'm the only one in the world with this problem. Really do appreciate your help, but I am doing like you say ( have done it many times in Win7 ) and 8.1 has a thing about separating the rudder pedals from the flightstick. Guess I need to TS with someone on real time. Thanks cichlidm, ~S~

My post is too long! Have been to options controls. Cannot change them because everytime I try to assign toe brake is says Joy_X. That is my flightstick. I cannot force it to call the toe brake anything but Joy_X or Joy_Y. Thx for your reply, M8.

OK, so Madcatz has no driver update for Combat Pro Rudder pedals for Win8.1; it's not like they're the top pedals for flight. Oh, wait, they are! And the new Rhino X55, what pedals do they think should go with them? Frustrated here, after discovering how to force CloD to "see" the rudder pedals in 8.1 ( unplug pedals, start system, start Clod, make sure X52 Flight Stick is working, back out of Clod, plug in pedals, restart Clod... whew! ), I fire up DCS. Load .configs, go to plane on runway, no TIR... Discover you have to delete TIR.config files, restart game, all good. I try to roll the P51 to taxi... pushing toe brake now works ailerons. ! Seems DCS "sees" toe brake axis as joystick X axis. Hours of research and trick moves, still no toe brakes. I know, just config. KYBd to brakes. Well, Combat Pros are almost $200, and mainly so you get these hefty aluminum pedals with TOE BRAKES ! So just ignoring them is ridiculous. Madcatz has been "working" on 8.1 drivers since Oct. of last year, no joy yet. Does anyone know of a way to make DCS "see" toe brakes as separate axis? Rudder works fine, no problem. THX!!! Win 7 is not an option, as I just built a new PC based on Win 8.1, mainly for DCS WW2, of which I am a faithful backer. Again, THX!

Yes they are run as admin, thx for the suggestion tho. It seems no one else is having trouble, so perhaps new DCS update. I do appreciate the reply, have had none in the past sometimes. Not a regular around here so don't get the "love". :)

Is anyone else having trouble with win8.1? DCS P51 will absolutely not "see" my Track IR...I have run repair.exe, all sorts of other mystical snake oil solutions, still not TIR5? Win7 was np, but now is not an option. Why won't DCS see TIR? I did not have to map each movement manually before, and that is ridiculous. Many other games "see" TIR5 np. And YES, I have updated SW + games list, etc, blah, blah, blah. The problem appears to be in Win 8.1 and DCS playing nice; not happening. Please help, Win 8.1 is really nice, and DCS is a Must Have for me, any thoughts? Thanks - wuff -

Mike, This is what I was looking for, @ 2300 rpm. Gonna try yet again, but still did not see that 100-130 rpm drop. TY for the reply. If you guys say it's modeled, then it has to be cockpit error.

It seems as though there is NO rpm drop when checking #1 and #2 mags during pre-takeoff runup. Is the engine not supposed to drop a bit if only 1 mag is switched on? Or is this too much YouTube "how-to"?:huh:
