  1. ED should stick with aircrafts. IMO.
  2. Mig-29. I'd be fine with an M or SM variant, if the SMT is "too new". But it definitely should be one of the multirole models.
  3. It's been asked once, no answer yet. But someone from the team (Wags maybe) said that they'll put the list up once it's finalized.
  4. Given the area BS is set in, a plausible scenario could be made - based on a Georgia vs Abkhazia conflict. Georgia doesn't have an air force that could provide any kind of air superiority, but they have a decent army. Abkhazia only have a handful of planes, they're mostly ground forces too. Russia has the big stuff, but can't enter the conflict openly because, you know, politics. So such conflict would be 90% ground war, with some aerial CAS on the Georgian/Abkhazian side, and special forces on the Russian side. In such scenario, a few Ka-50s crossing into Georgian territory now and then to nail a convoy, or hit some specific target sounds more that believable, and would fit the current role of the Ka-50 nicely.:joystick: Of course this scenario leaves out NATO completely, and probably wouldn't satisfy those who want to obliterate western equipment.:music_whistling: "On the battlefield, anything you do can get you killed, including nothing."
  5. No, it's just that you're so obsessed with the Apache, your subcounscious didn't let you write "Ka-50". Don't worry, it happens.:P
  6. You see, it's up to you. This is a 100% politically correct image. I, for example, prefer it symbolizing a death ray emitting from the Hind. :D
  7. Fixed. And it was Chechnya. IIRC there was even some debate about letting russian AC enter Georgian airspace to hunt rebels, but Georgia did not give permission.
  8. Sure, and hey, I don't want to bash the heli (I like them), but the 52 is based on the 50 after all, which is a design that's not suited for today's battlefield as much as other helis. Or so it seems. Also, nobody's buying that either (except Russia).
  9. That's not exactly a "whole new helicopter".
  10. Maybe Kamov would've done the same (scrapped the design) if they just had money for designing/testing a whole new attack helicopter, but it looks like they're stuck with the Ka-50.
  11. So how does the pilot control the cannon movement? Can it be "guided" by the Skhval? I heard somewhere that the pilot controls the gun with the cyclic somehow, but that sounded a bit unbelievable...
  12. I can't really choose, not really interested in any of these...:music_whistling:
  13. Wouldn't be realistic, IMO. Plus, apart from being spectacular, it wouldn't make the sim more interesting. No point speding dev resources on it.
  14. The AI improvements has been mentioned/suggested a few times already, and I agree with those, but I think the damage model doesn't need that much detail. You wouldn't engage these vehicles with guns IRL anyway, and it would take up too much development resources that could be used for more important things (like the AI).
  15. Who's making the Mig-27M? India? I thought Russia retired the aircraft (along with the Mig-23).
  16. Indeed, even just starting moving around unpredictably, especially since BS is about engaging ground forces. Fighter/airplane AI is not important at this point, but without decent ground AI, it might just be another castle sank into the swamp, despite being utterly awesome in the simulation department (which alone would be worth the money though).
  17. Awesome, thanks.
  18. Yeah, probably not the most important part of the game, but I think the encyclopedia should contain a lot more info on various objects. I mean things like the date it entered service (or was retired from service) - could be useful for mission makers who want to make a mission in a given "era", since LO have aircraft that were retired along with ones that didn't even enter service yet. Also what countries operate it, what weapons can it employ, some combat record, some stories etc. Some stuff to read - I remember JF-15's encyclopedia was pretty great in that regard. Also, talking about aircraft, the exact model name should be given (not just like "Mi-24" in LO - first thing I thought was "Mi-24, yeah, right, but what model?"), and that means different entries for different models. LO's encyclopedia is just too dry - spice it up.:smilewink:
  19. Umm ... I guess I cannot log in to the DCS site with my LockOn.ru username / password?
  20. Don't hypnotize Wags, people, hypnotize yourself! Just look into that spiral and concentrate on your dream plane - you'll find youself in the cockpit in no time!:smilewink: :)
  21. I may be wrong, but isn't the (HUD/HDU) symbology projected into the distance? Any anyway, the computer calculates it so that it point where it should ... ?
