  1. Yes, they are all the same.(to my knowledge, though to me, it would be logistically odd to not use the same screen on all 5) As for the rotary, I did try to get the results I wanted with painting, however, I couldn't get a result I was happy with. It's also not hard to print or assemble so now that it's done it takes 5 seconds to assemble and it's as close to perfect as you can get. Also, since it's all printed, there's no risk of wear from use so that's kinda nice. As far as the switches go, I'm un familiar with the dome switches you mentioned, I'd have to look into them, however, they don't feel much different than those used in the actual MFDs(I fly 60s that use the same model MFD just a different faceplate). Sorry it took so long to respond, I rarely get on the forums and forgot to check.
  2. Hey all! With the 47 release around the corner, I figured I'd post my progress on my near 1:1 47 MPD/MFDs. Most progress in on pause til I'm able to get a large enough resin printer to print whole that way I can dial in fitment as currently I'd have to print in 5 parts which can be less precise. Also need a laser engraver as while the main buttons can be painted easily I cannot get good results for the rocker switch lettering. Hopefully once I'm back next year I can get this complete and up to my standards. My prototype PCB and print worked for the most part(found out none of my ground pads were actually connected to ground....) Anyways, hope you all like it! Can't wait to get this out there!
  3. Ha! Yeah that would cause a memory leak for sure!
  4. Honestly just spent the few hours after the kids go to bed at night and really grinded it out haha. Some pieces are obviously just CAD models as why remake something that already exsists.(bearings rails, etc.
  5. Hey, sorry I never replied! Never got the notifications on the forum(also rarely check tbh)So I had actually taken inspiration from some company that makes these for defense Sims and figure "well if it's good enough for them" haha. I am also fairly certain there are accordion style boots I can get for them that will greatly reduce dirt or grime build up. They may still need cleaned every now and again but what doesnt. Additionally there will be boots from the floor to the arm(if I can figure out how I'm doing that) that will further reduce dust getting there.
  6. Can you send the code? Also one way you could troubleshoot the delay is by looking at the respective export values in the DCSBios web display(or whatever it's called) and see if it's delayed there as well or just to the display. I'm note super smart with all of this but I've become decent at trouleshooting. If it starts with it being very responsive and then is getting slower over time it sounds like maybe there's something like a memory leak or something clogging up the PIs memory making it slower to respond
  7. Yeah, I tried to get it to show the best I could. in it, the lights dim til the backlighting shuts off making the indicator light go to max brightness all of which was done using the a-10c console light brightness and master caution exports. It runs on USB on the same computer but doesn't report as a input device, UDP was the only way to get it to interface with DCS Bios. I can try to explain more if needed, I'm terrible at explaining things
  8. So I bought a ICS comm panel for a UH-60M trainer and because it doesn't report as a regular input device(its a HID Input) I've spent the last couple weeks wrestling AI to write python code to read the input reports from it and send it to Vjoy so that it can be used in any program. Next, I worked on controlling the LEDs which was another hurtle as there's zero documents for this so luckily once I dumped the HID descriptors and gave it to the AI it was able to get them turning on and after some troubleshooting I was able to control everything individually. Coming to today, I was able to connect it to DCSBios using UDP server and was able to have it control the LEDs. one of the features I added in my code was to set the brightness of the indicator lights(one of them is flashing) to be max if the backlighting is off but then matches when its on so that it could be seen in a lit environment(may be unnecessary once the 47 comes out) I've still got some GUI work to do but all of the tough stuff is finished. for context I have very little coding knowledge but with the mighty ChatGPT4o I was able to get what was pretty much a brick to me into a working device! once the CH-47 comes out(it has the same panel) and DCS Bios has a module for it ill be getting this fully working in game, cant wait! some features I've been able to implement: -GUI to control lighting w/ ability to adjust PID/VID if necessary(mainly for testing) -A sort of filtering as the device I got had a rotary encoder which would give weird outputs when rotating it. -Button and gauge indicators to show button presses -Ability to set Vjoy device numbers used(needs two due to amount of Pots) -selector switch reports 11 possible values to one report which are sent as 11 different buttons in Vjoy TODO: -Ability to edit in the GUI what exports control what LEDs -GUI improvements -Make the program self contained so Python doesn't need to be installed -probably random other stuff top keep me busy haha
  9. As my journey continues to build a 60M simpit(please ED I need it in my life) Last night I started work on the MPDs(same same as MFDs). Im about 5hrs of design in, in the last two days. As it stands the faceplate is nearly complete still need the screen so I can properly model a spot for it and I need to figure out which rocker switch im using in the top left for on/off Single and dual buttons have been fully modeled to be backlit via 6x6 led tac keys. Have the resin I need coming today so hopefully I can get a working demo of them backlit by tonight. Intent is that the frame will be FDM printed and the button caps are resin printed black and backfilled by hand with white resin. Goal is for it to be a near one to one with the one in the actual aircraft, though, as the real ones have some buttons not quite "mirrored/centered" for whatever reason mine will be different because OCD haha. Hope you all like it!

  10. Realized I never posted here about this but a few months back I spent about 5 days designing my FFB pedals I'll be building at some point. They are based off the UH-60s pedals and will use the FFBeast firmware to run it. This is the first model I've actually put time into learning F360 for. What do yall think?(need validation in my life lmao) Will use gas struts and linear transducers for brake force and readings and the trim hold will be released when both pedal switches(the shiny plates on the front of the pedals) are depressed. Other than that it's just the hoverboard motor driving the FFB.
  11. Got a cheap wireless headset and wanted to run my track IR off of it but wanted it to still be removable so I created this. Uses a boost converter to step up the 4v to 5.4~(wasn't bright enough otherwise) needed two resistors as it created a significant whine when on. On this headset it doesnt supply power unless the headset is on so no worry of draining the battery if you forget to unplug it. Hope this helps someone be cable free! 12. So im trying to make "The Way" compatible with the C130 Hercules mod and to do that I need a DeviceID and CommandID however after looking through the code and talking to the dev of the Herc none of the buttons are actually tied to a Device and is confirmed by looking at the input.lua (Hercules) where as buttons that are tied to a device are listed as this(UH-60L) is there a default device ID that gets assigned to them or am I kind of out of luck? any ideas on how I can work around it if it is infact not tied to a Device?? Appreciate any help or insight!!!
  13. Aren't helicopters so fun?! All I want to do is go from a hover to forward flight. okay, Simple! Just a bit of forward cyclic....Wait now im descending, okay ill raise collective! Wait now im starting to spin guess ill use left pedal now
  14. Fun fact, if you push forward cyclic its actually changing the pitch of the blades at 3 and 9 o'clock positions, they do this because of gyroscopic precession. Effects of a force placed on a rotordisk won't take effect until 90° later in the direction of the rotational plane.
